Mike sent me an email to let me know that she left as scheduled and Pete found me a couple of links so that I can keep a watch on her flights. I couldn't bear to get out to the airport and hanging around for ages... the suspense would be too much for me!

Getting close now! I bet they hate each other - hehe.

I've just opened my memory to see when Ebob is supposed to go back to the physio - and I have forgotten to make her appointment -duh!

The girls are in silly moods this afternoon. It's great to see them laughing, but now I'm crying. One of the things they did was play a song for me that Ally had on her phone. Waaaaa!

To all the Aussies on SA - RIP Don Lane
He apparently passed away today.
To the non-Aussies, he was an American entertainer who came here in the 60's (correct me if I'm wrong, someone) and went on to be a successful and popular Tonight show host here for years. He had dementia and was 75.

You got it Cyn, except I think it was called The Don Lane Show, or he had both. An American who made a significant impact on Australian television, highest paid television personality of his time, 15 Logies, etc etc.

Suzy, Thanks for that link - now I feel sad for 3 reasons - that little girl, the loss of Don Lane, and it's 8 years today since my favourite cousin, the one I was always closest to passed away. I've had a candle burning for them.

Yes, Suzy, I should have put Tonight-type show - interviews, music, comedy (thanks to Bert) - something that is sadly lacking in Aussie TV these days.

Aussie TV these days seems to be all soaps and reality TV! Even the news goes for the dramatic rather than the accurate...

That's why I don't watch it! I stick to Foxtel - only watch the news if there's something earth-shattering. Get my news from radio, newspapers (not much better than TV0 and the internet.

I mostly buy our local paper to see if anyone I know is in it. It has gone downhill since they changed editors. By that I mean it used to try to report the news the way we used to expect - unbiased and factual - and now always seems to have an agenda.

One of my favourite TV programs is 'Media Watch' - that opens your eyes to the way the media try to manipulate us.

I like escapist TV, like The Big Bang Theory

Had a lovely day with hubby out in the garden, it has been too long, either because of weather or absence. Dinner was the best vegie pie I have made I reckon.

I have just been told that we HAVE to go to see Narnia when it is on at the local theatre because Billy is in it. Billy takes the same bus as my girls in the afternoon. I think he is 15ish. Last year we saw him in a Christmas Carol and he waved at Ebob from the stage. He's a cutie.

Wonderful Tribute to Don Lane on TV tonight. Made me feel very nostalgic.

I worked out what flight Vici is on. 2 hours late at departure but est. only one hour late into Sydney. I will look to see if it flies over our house in the morning.

Good Maen everyone. Got up at my usual time this morning (7:15). Slept pretty good. Going out with Darrell today. Have landscapers coming tomorrow with topsoil (so we can FINALLY finish the back yard WHOOPEE!) All we have to do is put seed down afterwards...It'll be nice to NOT have a dirt yard anymore.

Ooooh... It sounds like Vici will be having the "Flight From H*ll". I hope she makes her connection, but it doesn't sound good.

Warning: Memories
When I moved to the US as a newly wed we stupidly booked a flight that stopped in Hawaii on the way to LA. Because Hawaii was the first time I hit American soil as an immigrant I had to go through first time immigration there - and the plane was late. The immigration guy would not be rushed: he fingerprinted me, gave me the you know it's illegal lecture bla bla. I'm jumping up and down with nervousness because I knew it was going to be close. In the meantime hubby has collected our bags. There were so many he tipped one of the guys to help him. That meant I went through the barrier with no luggage - which looked suspicious. When I finally got through the guy hubby had tipped threw our bags onto a belt, pointed at a door and said RUN. The door of the plane hit us on the butt as they closed it behind us, and our luggage made it to LA with us. I've always wondered how it made it onto the plane on time...

Cyn, you were right - he started on the Tonight Show. Even hubby watched the tribute last night and he'd never seen him before.

Less than one and a half hours until the Sydney landing.......

Plane has picked up time but listed as due at 8.25am. I hope Vici has a window seat as it is a nice morning for landing in Sydney. I have not been up long so not sure if they are landing from our direction (which means the circle over the city).

If I've read Bean's post correctly, I think her connecting flight is supposed to leave close to 9 o'clock... Everything crossed!
