It seems that SA7 is getting old and slow. It is time for a new page. Welcome to SA8.

It was one of many horrid people stories I experienced. I was working at the zoo when it happened (I didn't work with the Sea Lions... I worked with the hoofed stock (giraffe, antelope, zebra, etc.). Is it any wonder that I prefer the company of animals most of the time?

Morning all!
Vici I love your platypus avatars!
Cyn, I knew what you meant, but it tickled my funny bone anyway.
Heidi, working in industries which involve a lot of people you would get to see the best and the worst of them.

Hi all,
We had a nice drop of rain last night along with thunder and lightning. It dropped the temp very quickly making this morning more comfortable.
Glad Lizzy is OK.
Lots of lovely platypi Vici.
You are up early Suzy!I didn't see the funny side until you mentioned Cyn wanting Heidi to join fb to get a zoo.I'm a bit slow and then it WAS funny.
How people get a kick out of making animals suffer is beyond me.
Last day at work then 3 off.

Indeed my friend - it feels good to be getting back into a topside routine.
Went to see my friend in the hospital today - didn't realize I'd be saying "goodbye" to her. She's no longer coherent - it won't be long now.
The best part is all the people showing their love for her - if it weren't for her poor health, it would be a beautiful way to go.

I have an update on Liz. She sent me a message this morning saying she had a rough day yesterday (no surprises there!), but feeling lots better this morning. The news from the surgery was all good, but I will leave that up to her to let you know. She might be home tomorrow, so be prepared for a Dizzy Lizzy attack!
I sent back to her that is positive vibes had anything to do with it, we all knew she'd be fine. I sent her your love and best wishes and told her we were all relieved to get news last night.

Good morning lovely people.
Vici - so sorry about your friend. I hope the end is peaceful.
Heidi - no FB Zoo is just fun but it IS a complete time-waster. How horrible people can be never ceases to amaze me - what an awful, awful story!
Gail - great news that Bill's pathology was clear. It's always a relief.
Thanks, also, for the update on Lizzy - get well soon, we miss you, Lizzy.
Nola and Broni - at least those storms last night (we didn't get much rain here) have lowered today's expected temps.
Hi Suzy - sent you an email.

Hi all...Jumping in without reading...will read after I post. Hope things are improving for those who have been ill and everyone else has been doing well since my last post.
I have been having a blast wasting time on my fb zoo, farm and cafe...its even more addicting than SA...hard to believe I know. I will get pass this addiction, but for now, I'm involved with breeding and need to stay close to my babies...one way to motherhood with little pain other than time involve, and at my age this is the only way to go...lol! The best thing about this fb addiction is that I'm still surrounded by many of my fellow Sudoku addicts...what a comfort...we're all nuts...but life is grand! Peace.

Hi everyone!
Good news and bad here today -
Vici, sad news about your friend.
Gail, hooray for Bill's good news! :)
Dizzy Lizzy, wishing you a swift recovery, with minimum pain and maximum computer fun.
Heidi, there are some freaky people in this world - but also lots of lovely ones. Let's hope the good outweigh the bad.

Hey Mama, I know what you mean about addiction! I'm spending more time playing with my imaginary friends (and animals, and plants) than I do with my real world ... ah well, when my arm's better I'll get back to real life ... Sure I will! :)

Well I've caught up with the news, and am glad that I came up for air.
Heidi...It takes all kinds to make up this world...and far too many are sick! Animals generally do nothing more than bring joy and salvation to the human animal, who often seems to be jealous of the love shown to the others.
Gail...good news re Bill's results.
Liz...Looking forward to seeing you around here as you recuperate....speedy and complete healing are my wishes for you.
Suzanne, glad you are finding some relief...nice to be able to breathe every now and then without the struggle.
For all leary of fb...know that your fears are real...but also, nothing ventured nothing gained...and its great fun..if you still don't want to become involved...just set up the money page for those of us who can't give up the ghost...lol. Suzy has told you how to help...Now I'm out of here and back to the zoo...see you later!

Hope you are all well.
Gail: Thanks for the update on Liz and great news about Bill.
Vici..that is not good news...I'm so sorry to hear that.
Judy I am glad that it will take more than a broken arm to stop you running a farm, a cafe and becoming a zoo keeper...LOL
What is the latest on Julie? Anybody heard?

Hi everyone.
Glad to hear Bill is OK Gail, and Lizzy is on the mend.It must be a relief to get the good news.
Sorry about your friend Vici,a very sad time for you.

I think I am more shocked than my sister Judy, who yesterday was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer.
I went to the Dr last week with her reassuring her that because the lump was so big and came up quickly, that it would all be ok.She is seeing a surgeon Thursday for the next step. They wanted to send her to Bribane Fri but she would rather be here.Up to her I suppose but quicker down there.
Judy is taking it very casually,I on the other hand, can't sleep now.We are very close.

Well,I will do a puzzle or 2 and see if it makes me sleepy.Catch you later and thanks for listening.

The day from H3LL has started here. I was woken up early by a call saying that IH's goats, which he keeps 8 miles from here, had gotten out on the road. Shortly thereafter, I got another call, from a neighbor, saying that one of my best cows had gotten out and was on the road. I grabbed IH, and we tried to get her back in. She was feeling too playful and started running around the corn field across the street (harvested last week). There was no way that we could outrun her, so we went back to the house... IH to phone for assistance and me to saddle up my best cowhorse. By the time I got the horse saddled, the cow had vanished into thin air. I road all around looking for her. So did IH and a friend who responded to the call. She vanished. The only place that she could be is back with the herd.
So, back to the barn. I unsaddled Red Hawk and put him in a stall in case the cow should reappear outside the fence. I then went to fill some water tanks. No water. So I went in the house to check. No water. I've got a call into the plumber. It's not even noon yet. What a day.

Nola, I will keep Judy in my thoughts and prayers. Please try to get some rest even if you can't sleep well...you will need to stay strong yourself so that when the news sinks in, Judy will be able to count on your strength to help her get through this. The trials and challenges that life gives us only serve to make us stronger in the end....but its sure hard to get to that point. May peace find you.

The plumber was just here. He left to pick up a track-hoe and a new well pump. He's gotta dig up the yard again.
We just did this last year!!!! Unfortunately, he ruled out everything BUT the well pump.

G'Day all! Been very busy between life and FB. It takes so much time to tend to my stuff AND Ian's! I promised I would help him when his stuff is done while he's at school. I think that will end shortly(the helping I mean). Brendan's team had the Eastern Conference playoffs over the weekend and they won! It was very tiring though and we're still recovering. (even though Jerry did all of the driving)
