Hello lovely people.
Julie posted - great to see, and best wishes for the remainder of your recovery. We have missed you.
Suzy - sorry you're not feeling well.
Vici - Karin's good at passing on her addictions. I am going to have to try to limit my time on FB (she got me started) and that ridiculous Zoo.
Our weather up here is stil hot, hot, hot - 32C outside (air-con on inside) but supposedly lower for the next few days 28C. I'll believe it when I see it.
Went to Madeline's Ballet concert late yesterday afternoon. In an un-airconditioned school assembly hall. It was stifling. They sure sold a lot of water and soft drinks! Maddie was beautiful and graceful - don't know where she gets that's from. It's nice to see her improve each year.

Just one quick funny story.
At the ballet yesterday Colin and Lachlan were bored and waiting for interval. They had a program which listed each segment. We were watching the senior ballet doing a piece.
Lach asks Colin 'Which one is this?'
Colin replies 'Sleeping Beauty'
Lach: 'What's next?'
Col: 'Waking Ugly'
To which Karin's MIL sitting next to Col, started spluttering in the middle of the concert. Trust Colin!
Or maybe, that's a 'you had to be there' moment.

Afternoon folks...
Suzy I hope you are feeling much better soon.

In reply to Broni a few pages back [I think I have caught up] I am having trouble getting on top of this last bug... must be over three weeks now. June enquired whether the desensitising injections worked and yes, they have been really good. This is the first time I have had a really serious sinus infection since I started the injections a few years ago. The congestion associated with allergies has always made me very susceptible to sinusitis.

In answer to your other question June my tank is full... need to get it connected to a smaller tank to collect the overflow! In fact everything around here is overflowing. The level in the pool rose 4" and has been overflowing [time to backwash the filter...long overdue with water restrictions] and even the outside sink that we used for drinks at the party filled up...

The heavy clay here has softened with the rain [last week it was rock hard and cracking.. sound familiar Gail?] and it is time to get out and pull a few more weeds and get a few more plants in [before ENCOURAGING Lachie to spread some mulch before he disappears to Adelaide again...]

MIL is now out of hospital and in aftercare and looking forward to going home. I have some pretty heavy family stuff going down at the moment and probably won't get back here much [and before you start cheering and getting too excited I will be back...] Please say a prayer for my brother... I'm having trouble getting my head about his prognosis [2yrs]... I can only hope they are wrong...

Keep well everybody - you in particular Heidi... you get into more than enough trouble for one person!

Ciao Love you all

And speaking of getting into trouble..... I just got a new toy. I bought a Trikke. I'm just starting to learn how to ride it, haven't gotten in the zone yet, and have had a couple of near accidents. I expect to have a few before I learn to carve.

Lizzy - you've probably long gone by now but I meant to say, in my earlier post that my sister had the same trouble as you for the first week or so after her op - she was dropping things and forgetting. In her usual manner she decided it was the onset of dementia. It wasn't, she came good. Look after yourself. xx

Hi everyone.
Rolanda...glad you had a great time at the wedding catching up with family and friends.A honeymoon in NZ sounds wonderful.

Suzi..how is your swollen foot and now the cold?Get better quickly.

Tami...enjoy thanks giving with the family.I'm sure you will.

Julie...Lovely to see you back and slowly on the mend.Roll on Dec 1st so that you can get home.

Cynthia..loved Cols comments at the ballet. It's embarrassing laughing during something serious but you can't help it.

Bean...hope the sinus's clear soon. The rain filling your tanks is great and garden the garden will certainly appreciate it.Weeding, buga!

Heidi...I haven't looked at the link yet but gather you will use the trikke to herd the animals.Or is it your fun christmas present?

Mama..how is your zoo going? How dare it keep you away from us.hehe

Judy's op is Wed.at 1pm.Some friends have told me that I should be there but I don't want to be.
I start work at 1.30 and don't feel I could do much and would rather be busy at work.We are always short staffed at work,so either way,I would be letting someone down so I will just ring the hospital later that day, then go in early Thursday morning.
Gregs bro and SIL are here for a few days on their way home to T'ville too.
We passed accreditation at work last week with a special mention for continence management which I supervise.Bragging again, but very pleased.

Bugger Cyn I was kinda hoping I would get away with a bit of towel flicking He He
Sil Diane cooked fish we had 3 different types, as the doc wants me to start eating more fish, and Im not much of a fish eater, so the darling that she is tried me on 3 types, we had salmon done in a mustard sauce, Barramundi crumbed and cooked on the BBQ, and flat head tails marinated in sweet chilly, all very yummy, with a lovely salad.....

OH SHOOT, I had this LONG post going, and accidentally closed it. No time to recreate it, comments from the last 3 pages. AAAGGHHHHHHHH.

I had been looking at Hieidis TRIKKE, oh my, that is one way to get a good workout outdoors, be careful learning. the video did not say anything about falling.

I remember sending hugs to Vici, and Suzy and June and Julie and Liz.

I cooked turkey in smoker Friday to have lot os of " leftovers" since we will be going to my nephew's house for Thanksgiving. Boy it was good turkey too! RESt is already in freezer, we decided to take this week off till Thursday hehehe.

We both got new glasses. Doc said Al had beginning cataracts, but not severe enough to need surgery YET. Please, join me in praying they do not get worse till he can get medicare insurance, in THREE YEARS!

I must return to get my frames adjusted. the legs are too short to where the bend is! Makes them fit funny on my face. they gotta fix that! Not a real problem, I have a 60 day satisfaction guarantee. If they cannot get these adjusted to fit, I can get new glasses, new frames.

OK, I am off to do something constructive. I have to wash a load of clothes, put away all the ones that were drying indoors, go for a walk, go to town for hooks to hang outside lights, check the grocery for mark down produce, fill the 7 day pill sorters for BOTH of us, take up another shirt or pants or something, hard to keep on top of all the alterations, find something to cook for dinner, clean off the front and back porches so we can get to the railing or roof line to hang decorations, Gee, just a LOT to do today.

Hugs to everyone.

Hi Broni, glad you enjoyed your trip on the boat. Hope the muscles recover soon.

Heidi, where do you ride your new toy? Is your drive paved and suitable? I think you daid it is a long driveway. Do you have to go to a park or something. Looks like an excelent way to exercise, boy bet you found some new muscles too!

Back lights are up, first time I got him to put lights up out there. I can see those from the kitchen/eating area, and every time I walk through, cause the back sliding door blinds are seldom closed till AFTER I go to bed, when hubby comes in. Front lights are for the neighbots to see unless I can leav door opened and look through the storm foor tht leaks air all around it. NO leaving door open when it is cold or windy.

I just cooked a nice pork roast, found on sale at grocery. I got the hooke he needed, and I found me another tree ornament, I like to get at least one new one , something very interesting and in MY colors.

Last night we went to a tree decorating party at the church. They had the tree and only one strand of lights on it. We took them another strand of lights, and enough decorations to do the whole tree! I once had a tree in gold and white and crystal once, and had angels in those colors, and crystal. Had some purple ornaments a friend sent when I was doing purple and turquoise ornaments for my niece a few years ago, she had picked them up on a clearance table. I had a lot left over and we used those, too. the tree looked good, I was amazed my "leftovers" were enough to decorate a 7 foot tree. OH, I had several dozen plastic icicles, the ones that look like the glass ones. I have over the years replaced them with glass, so we had those also. We both had fun, even though I could not have either the coffee or the doughnuts they served.

Almost my lunch time, then I need to get the front lights and the tree inside, see if I can do anything with them. I think hubby is down for the day. His shoulder was hurting adter drilling and then screwing in all the hooks. I gave him a pain pill, which he usually refuses, hope it is helping him.

Later friends,

Tricia, again, boy twice in one day, do you believe that?

Only a couple of pages to read, but oh so much has been said...
I'll start by saying Good Afternoon to all of you wonderful folks!
Julie and Tricia...so wonderful to see you back...its been swell here, but now the lights are shinning even brighter with your return.
Nola...I agree that its better not to be at the hospital during Judy's op...you will be there when she really needs you and that's what is important! Congrats on the accreditation...always good to brag about good things you take part in.BTW...the zoo is going well, although as Cyn said, far too much time is wasted there...but as long as I'm enjoying myself, I really don't think I'm wasting time...just not getting anything else done...he-he.
Suzy...I thought I had sent out a "STOP GETTING SICK' message to all of the SA'ers...and here you go trying to get sick...Stop IT!
Bean...My friend...I too suffer from those annoying sinus infections...I use a Netti pot as well as meds....But I find splashing warm salted water, and gargling with warm salted water speeds the healing and allows me to breathe better. If you haven't tried this, perhaps give it a go.
Please know that I understand your heavy heart and will keep you and yours in my prayers...but know that life is only good when you can enjoy it!!!! My wish for your brother is that his days are filled with love and joy as he enters this phase of life. May peace walk beside him!

Bean, I see that I failed to say that I splash the warm salted water up my nose and also gargle to help speed healing...In fact...I use warm salted water for many things, cuts and bruises sore throats...lots of stuff is helped....but don't swallow all of that salt...any of it if you have high blood pressure...which I am happy to say I don't! Have a great day/night where ever you are...and stay healthy folks!!!!

Good morning everyone!
I'm up obscenely early today - to make up for still being in my nightie at 2pm yesterday! - I am showered and dressed and I've vowed not to LOOK at my Farm till I've done something productive!
Just read the days I've missed - sending get well thoughts to those who need them:
Liz, take care of yourself, don't try to do too much too soon. (Though it sounds as though you're being well looked after!)
Nola, thinking of your sister, and hope all goes well.
Vici, so sorry about your friend.
Suzy, ouch!
Bean, hope your sinus troubles are over soon.
Anyone I've missed, feel better soon!
Heidi, how is the Trikke for people with lower back problems?
I have another 2 more weeks in plaster - on the plus side I have beautiful long fingernails! ;)
