According to the news metro Melbournites might have some flash flooding this morning. I'm hoping that it doesn't rain quite that much!

One forecast says we are heading for 33C, another says 38C. I'm not happy with either of those considering I'll be sitting outside in the sun...

Sending hugs and thoughts and wishes to all those recovering from surgery or just about to have surgery...

Vici, I couldn't think of a better person to have beside your friend as she moves to pass into the next life than you, you are the most spiritual person I have met. I hope your presence was able to bring her some peace as she transitions. It was a shame you had to leave.
All strength to you.

Suzy, well done on saving the bottle! Reminds me of when I dropped a tall can of pineapple juice on my foot, it landed rim edge down on the top of my foot...I still have a ridge in my bone. Man, did THAT bruise!

Ah, I have just read your post about Evie's passing, Vici. What I said before now rings even truer, I am sure your words made it easier to leave this body of pain.
Blessings Evie, may you rest in peace.

Owwwww! Gail - that smarts just thinking about it.
Karin once dropped a full large glass bottle of Coca cola on her foot when she was about 6 - meanwhile 10 stitches later and her mother with apoplexy, she survived.

I popped in here last night just after midnight to catch up on reading, but didn't post, I was too tired.
I had just driven home after a lovely evening at my niece's house for her daughter's 1st birthday. Roxie stayed up long enough to say hi to all who came then she was promptly put to bed so we could have a beautiful dinner, wonderfully prepared my my nephew-almost-in-law(!). That child has the highest pitched squeal I have ever heard!
Just before dinner, we had a group photo taken. Three of my sister's were there, including mother of niece who came down from Sydney. NIL was taking the photos, and instead of telling us to say cheese, he said 'ok everyone, say Nicole's (niece) pregnant'! Well, you can imagine the looks on our faces in THAT photo!

Hope that the flash floods didn't happen in Melbourne. Have flood problems in the north west of the UK. In one place 12.3 inches of rain fell in one 24 hour period.

Rain...is there anything else that sounds so wonderful?
I haven't read about any flooding as yet, I know there was stacks of water on the roads last night, and the wipers were going 19 to the dozen! No chance of flooding up here, we live on a hill.

In a cruel twist, rain has hampered the arrival of a NSW firefighting aircraft as several blazes rage across the state.

One of two air cranes, named Isabelle, due to be based in NSW for the fire season, was due to arrive in Sydney on Sunday morning.

However rain at Albury in southern NSW has prevented its departure, with the air crane now expected to arrive in Sydney late on Sunday afternoon.

The air crane arrived in Melbourne from the United States last week and was quickly assembled but is yet to be put to work.

It can carry 9,000 litres of water and is deemed an essential tool in fighting bushfires burning in inaccessible terrain.

A Rural Fire Service (RFS) spokesman on Sunday said 74 aircraft were working on fighting more than 80 blazes across the state.

I had a nice day. Beastie boys spent the afternoon with their aunt and uncle. Hubby and I spent the afternoon at an expensive hotel visiting friends who were visiting. They used reward points and got a great rate. We took a walk on the beach and then hung out by the pool. Of course, I HAD to call Suzanne and let her know that it was a beautiful day at the beach. I can't repeat what she called me or I will be banned from here.

Good to see you reporting in Liz... are you sure you are taking adequate amounts of pain killers? You are making far too much sense... you need to be a little more dizzy.

There can be nothing more precious than the smell and sound of rain after the extreme water deprivation we have been experiencing. Wonderful.
Could the rain goddess keep bestowing her bounty upon us TY.

Evening all!
Vici, I am sorry to hear of Evie's passing, even though it was for the best. Sometimes the 'best' doesn't feel that way.

Ouch Gail! I don't know if I have a dent yet - it's still too fat to see. I love the sound of that photo! What a great idea.

Brenda, I read about the floods in the UK. Some very sad stories.. I hope the rain has stopped now.

Liz, great to see you drop in!

Tami, you are sooo mean!!! hehe

Love you Mama!

June, BOM says it reached 40.5 here and I'd believe it. No a/c but the 'back room' is double brick and stays cooler than the rest of the house. Luckily it was only in the low 30s while Ebob was playing baseball. That was hot enough! I hope they would have called the game if it reached 40.

Wishing for the smell and sound of rain here...

Hi all
Bean I am having way too many pain killers, have started to do some very strange things, like make myself 2 coffee's, and heat up soup to find it in the microwave the next day and remember that was last nights dinner, yikes but no pain so dont care, although a girlfriend Leanne got very angry with me yesterday, as I was mashing some potato, with the bamix, and while cleaning it under running water, realised it was still plugged in, and yes it turned on, very dangerous, as I had the mincer attachment on... could have cut my fingers badly, so trying to concentrate on everything I do, but wow its all mush.....
