Mariana... thanks for being such a good sport... I get such a kick out of teasing you with the spiders.
I'm heading off to bed myself. It's half past 1 am now. Maybe I'll dream of reindeer!

Good afternoon all - my hair is 'bootiful' now, even if I say so myself. Just had a big swim, or should I say 'loll' in my sister's pool - 30c here, needed it - kept the hair dry though. Just lolling around on a noodle talking for an hour - I can handle that!
Mariana - glad Henry liked the Cool Birthday smiley!

A tad jealous here - I wouldn't dare loll around in a pool for an hour - would be a beetroot!

So, what did you get up to today?

Today, I spent a large portion of my day in here. Felt good to be among friends.
I threw a couple of loads into the machine. I think one might still be in there but...meh, so what, it'll get done. Anyone complains, tough!
Cooked a little lamb roast for the three of us. Really only cater for three now, it's weird...so used to cooking for an army!

Must go through all the things that have mysteriously started appearing in my wardrobe. An odd assortment of remote controlled thingamys, pink girlie stuff and stocking fillers. Blowed if I know where it came from! Work out what I still need to get.

What did I do today....got up and regretted the slice of bread I ate in the middle of the night when my hunger was keeping me awake....had to rebook visit to vampire...
Then I went back to bed...yay....
Spent a lot of time here reading...didn't feel like talking much...here or in person...
Was almost late to see Billy Elliott...it was such a good show...the 12yo star today [there are 4 boys playing Billy] was from Sydney and absolutely brilliant. I think I must go to a lot of shows because I recognised an awful lot of faces! This outing was my Christmas treat to myself. Thoughts kept drifting and would end up thinking about Ruby...it is all so hard to take in..
Good news when I got out from the show...MIL was being discharged and I didn't have to go to the hospital ... went and saw her at home...Pete's brother and SIL had brought her home and relieved me of that job. It is much less exhausting parking right outside her house as opposed to parking blocks from a busy hospital!!
I am now absolutely exhausted and soon to hit the sack...Lachie catches an early train tomorrow to Adelaide...need to leave here at 6.30..must go pack him some lunch....
I may be back...
oh...I opened a few more cards and felt guiltier by the moment ...it is not happening here..

I would have gone to Billy Elliott with you. One of the 4 Billy Elliots during the Sydney season lives next door to me. I think he is now too old, I saw him playing in the back yard today so I don't think he's in the Melb. one.

Woah???(sp) Bella woke me up early, went back to sleep and woke up late for my days plans. Tea and toast, procrastinated here and then on the boat, ouch, hard work but felt good to do some physical work, think I am feeling better. Had a drink with Les and Anne and home, chatted to you lot and shower. Teresa came over and gave her a hug (she asked me to personally thank those who know who they are)and we talked and I made my famous coffee for her. Peter came over and watered my garden. Still no sign of C cheer here but I love my friends.

Suzy - should have said that the lolling in the pool was only in the shaded section (shallow end). Slow on here tonight, understandable under the circumstances.
Nothing festive going on here either. Got the C decorations out of the shed, opened them, decided to leave them until daughter and grandies get here tomorrow - as explained yesterday, she'll have them up in 15 minutes! C cards still not written out!

One nice side note - some dear friends of ours, both in their forties have tried unsuccessfully for years to have their own child, even IVF didn't work, could not adopt in Oz because of their ages, have been waiting 6 years to adopt a child from overseas have just had word that they've been alotted a 6 month old Ethiopian boy. He is so cute!! Have a pic of him but won't post it in case they don't want me to. Will be a few months before they can go there to collect him but I'm so happy for them. What a wonderful Christmas present! Like I said to her, we both got our sons for Christmas.

Good morning all! I wasn't here yesterday and while skimming through, I saw the sad news about Ruby. It's hard for me to believe! I'm speechless. I was just thinking about Linda yesterday because I couldn't remember if she sent a card to Bryana for Christmas or her birthday. I think it was her birthday. Now Ruby is gone. May she rest in peace. Thoughts and prayers to her family and all those who knew her!

CynB - happy for your friends...they must be excited after such a long journey to parenthood. I imagine with so much desire and perseverance they will make wonderful parents.
Kate - I like your idea of a memorial page for all of Sudokuland. I don't see it as depressing at all, but a place for everyone to grieve together and celebrate the lives of our cyber friends. It would be very helpful for me with my CRAFTs and all.
