I decided to skip ahead before reading ALL the posts left while I was at the feed store.
My mother is the worlds WORST cook. The opinion is unanimous among everyone who's tasted it. Soup is the worst of all. And she thinks she makes great soup. The first time I took IH to meet her, I warned him about the soup. I told him that no matter how hungry he was, tell her that he'd just eaten, then we'd hurry out to eat. We walked in the house and she immediately offered him some of her soup. Fool that he is, he said yes.
He took one mouthful, turned greenish, waited 'til her back was turned, and poured the rest back in the pot. No matter what kind of soup it's supposed to be, it always has 1 inch of orange grease on top. She adds all spoiled food from the fridge (economical that way), and lord knows what else.

Oh Heidi, that sounds revolting! But do I detect something in common between IH and mother? Economical?

IH is very grateful that I cut all ties with my mother. Very demanding. Very manipulative. Manic Depressive and borderline schizophrenic. And VERY greedy. Before my grandmother passed away, she kept stealing Grandma's check book to buy herself jewelry and anything else she wanted. After Grandma had a stroke and lost the ability to talk well, mother told her that she wanted her to die.... as soon as possible.... so she could get her money. She even threatened to kill her for her money. Grandma told that to my aunt and myself (the only ones she made an effort to talk to), but we had nothing that could be used in court. We just made sure that Grandma was never alone after that.
NOW do the rest of you appreciate your mothers??????

Morning Rola, hope you are not too busy today.
Yes Heidi, we all have choices to make in our lives and we are the ones that have to live with them. Sounds like you made the right choice, dam sure IH had no say in it though. What was in our past is part of us, what we choose to take with us into the future we have control over.

Morning Rolanda and Broni.
I have had a relaxing time reading the news, even did a puzzle, didn't get back to old posts or reading easy. Millions of interruptions and still managed to have fun...
Maybe I'll get back later, but if not, I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Rolanda - I can't put my lovely wrapped pressies under the tree. The dog would think they were for her to play with. My C tree is on a small low table so that she doesn't chew the decorations. Hopefully next year she'll be more sensible!!

Good evening my friends. I've been rather busy these last few days so haven't been around much. I am now nearly ready for Christmas. Just got a couple of people to visit on Christmas eve, and then final veg prep for the big day. We picked up the turkey this morning and I must say it is rather large, 10.7Kilos, for just 7 people.

Someone asked earlier how Celia, my friend who had a stroke earlier this year, is getting on. She is managing living by herself, with just a little help from other people. She actually went to her local shops by herself last week, she has a mobility scooter so didn't have to walk very far.
She is being very stubborn as normal and will not come to my family for Christmas day, so I will be visiting her Christmas eve.

I haven't heard anything more from Rayray's friend, so have nothing more to report. I tried to find the number he called me from but it had been with held.
I hope he gets in touch with someone soon, I know Broni and others are still concerned.
