Got the pigeon feed. Got all of those fence posts pulled for the neighbors, and nicely stacked next to their pick-up truck.

I have earned a nice spaghetti/ tortellini dinner tonight. May even bake a blueberry pie. mmmmmmmmmmm

Morning everyone! We had a fun New Years (it's going to take weeks for me to find all of the confetti!!!) and I hope not too many of us who have already celebrated have sore heads (poor Liz!)... For those yet to celebrate, wishing no sore heads there either!!!

My tummy is full. That was probably the best blueberry pie I've ever had.
I'm getting tired, so I'm going to feed the dogs early, then go to bed early. Believe it or not, I have workmen coming at 9 am on New Years Day to re-stretch the carpeting that the waterproofers had pulled up. Had to wait over a month for the concrete to age.

Afternoon all! Taking a break from cleaning up the new years celebrations. It's a lot of fun throwing confetti into every corner of the house, but it takes all day to clean up after it again...

I'm sorry I don't have better news to share. Her mother has no pulses in her left leg [no wonder the ulcers won't heal and that she is in so much pain] She has to have an above knee amputation next week. This is not a procedure to be undertaken lightly at 82 and most particularly when you have cardiac disease. The anaesthetist will make the final decision as to whether the surgery can go ahead. They are all being philosophical and realistic of all the possible outcomes.
Now is the time for some special prayers if anyone has good connections up there.

i get started praying right away. i'm pretty sure i have the best connections as i am a perfect little angel . seriously though, i hope the best for gail's mom. it is so hard to see loved one go through such hard times. i'm pretty sure i said goodbye to my grandmother (in seattle) for the last time this weekend. i had to go to a room and have a good bawl. at times even the best of thoughts and prayers cannot compete with god's will.

yoo hoo! midnight!!...where are you??? the kids are being and 12 o'clock cannot come soon enough! they are currently look for something to explode. HELP!!!

Oh Mariana ...it is so hard. To know you are saying goodbye for the last time. You can really identify with how Gail is feeling at at the moment. I'm glad you have good connections because I am such a devil that I sure as hell don't.... I thank you on Gails behalf...

Bean, thanks for passing on the news about Gail's mother - what a terrible situation! Hoping and praying for the best possible outcome.

he he...oh boy....you can have it all on your own....do you have lots of fireworks at midnight where you are? Melbourne CBD had more people in it lastnight than I think have ever been there...wonderful fireworks as usual along the Yarra River and lots more in Docklands...in an area they call Victoria Harbour...looked fantastic on TV

BTW...you really are an angel if all you are calling them is Little Rascals...

Yes Bean, I do! I don't know how it compares to other shortbread, but I've been making this one for years now, and people always tell me it's delicious, so if you really want it...(or were you just joking?)

I am being perfectly serious...I would like to try a trusted recipe....one that can be vouched for...
