Fortunately, Suzy, they do breed in captivity. So they'll never go extinct. I wonder if any of them are being released back into the wild?
I'm not going on the hay run after all. The snow has gotten worse and is sticking.

I don't like out current dentist (replaced our old one who retired) so will be looking for a new one this year. I hope we find a good one.

I found the best Dentist. She's an hour's drive away, but well worth it. She is a perfectionist in her work, refuses to let you feel any pain, super knowledgable and really nice.

Heidi, you've made me wonder what happened to my grandfather's birds when he was 'done' with them (got too sick to look after them). I have a couple of his orchids - his other passion.

We have a probus meeting with lunch to follow.
Did not get a lot of sleep. Was just starting to settle back and hubby turned on the radio GRRRR.
He finds the radio helps him get back to sleep. Have filled the swishy thing and have to Ph the fish pot. I have an 100 litre pot in the garden with a water lily and a couple of gold fish to eat the mozzies. I started cleaning it about a week ago and have the fish in a large plastic bucket. With the hot days the water starts to warm and out goes the oxygen so I have to get the fish back into their pond as the hot days come back.

Ally is very nervous June. I think it's going to end up being closer to 2 weeks with the teacher's strike on Wed, Thu. Tue was pupil free already. I'm not sure what they will do on Friday as they usually stagger the start - Years 7, 11 and 12 start on Wed, everyone else on Thu. Now they only have one day of the week left, who knows what they will do. We have to listen to the radio to find out. I can't believe the holidays are that close to over already! They felt longer when I was a kid.

2 hours and nobody here?

I donated blood last week and someone I ran into on the way who said they should donate as they have a rare blood group, O-. I thought, I didn't know that was rare and finally decided to check this morning. In Oz, O- is 9% of the population, my group is 7%, d1 and hubby are 8% and d2 has the rarest of them all at 1%. My mother earns a whopping 2%. Both my bros have the same blood type as d2. Basically the only groups that aren't rare are O+ and A+. Weird.

Peter back at work Thursday!
Mountains of Washing.. no.
Did keep it up to date down in Albany. Got all of it done when I got home.. only 3 loads ~ 1: Clothes 2: Sheets 3: Towels.
The Cherubs had ALL their washing done, ironed/folded and put away before I got home, and cleaned the house.
Boys: managed extremely well with out their Mother. #2 boy went to Sydney for 16 days while I was away and had a AWESOME time. #1 stayed home, worked, partied and enjoyed being home alone !!

Hello, All! Just a quick pop in, then reading and revisit later.

Hi, Rolanda, it's so good to have you back with us, though your vacation sounds quite nice!

Hello to June, Heidi, Suzy and Tami! I know I also saw Mamacita, MizT, Broni, Bean, Mariana, Brenda, and others recently!

Heidi, I'm glad you'll be ready for the arrival of your new finches!

Dentist - yes, us too. Hubby goes Monday, and I go Wednesday! I occasionally tense up in the chair, but try to reverse it when I'm aware. June, I nearly fell asleep in the chair once, also.

Tami, great bargain on your navy slacks for school! I'm guessing there's mostly summer clothes out now in Florida.

Suzy, O negative is also a somewhat rare blood type in the US also. (I have it - only one of 6 siblings and none of our children.) I've been told that it's considered the universal donor, as anyone can receive a transfusion of it without trouble. There are indeed other more rare types, though.

Rolanda, I always made sure I kept the house neat when my parents went away. It was when they were home that I made a mess.

Julie, believe it or not, there are a lot of winter clothes in Florida. The "resort" wear is starting to come in. That is the stuff for spring. Summer clothes are here year round but the bulk of it will be in shortly. I try to stock up around the end of summer when it is on clearance. The pants happened to be a discontinued style (who care's) and they only had a few pair left. Luckily they had my size. I live near a huge outlet mall. Sawgrass Mills (if you want to google it) which is a tourist attraction in itself. I can usually find what I need at a good price, but $5 is a really good price.

That reminds me, make appt for checkups, that was part of the plan for this year, but things sort of got knocked out of whack.

Tami, I think it was the Laser Spine Institute, but I can't remember for sure. I just used Mr. Google and find that there a number of spine centers/institutes in Florida.

Good afternoon lovely SA7 people. Just a quick call-in. I've been laid low with Asthma since Friday night and my meds are making me sleep. Don't ask me how I managed to get asthma in summer, but I did!
Just wanted to say hello and apologise for not having done my birthday thank-yous yet. Welcome back Rolanda. to all.

Afternoon SA7. I am about to go out and put out some Avon fliers in a new area I have.
I should have done it this morning but instead had coffee and crosswords with the old boy.
Old boy = John. Hehehehhe
