Mama, what a beautiful way to celebrate Sully's birthday. I think it was a perfect tribute to the love of your life. I know it's a little late, but I will raise a glass in his memory tonight.

Susan, we have missed you and I'm sorry your Mum is unwell. No sympathy! Just thoughts and wishes! You aren't grrrrring at your son so I'm guessing the program he downloaded was one you all wanted.
Mamacita, what a great way to celebrate the time you and Sully had together. You are always an inspiration.

Phantom Report
That sweling and cut above his eye is much better, all other wounds have healed. He is in trouble this morning though. I had covered my just emerging daffodills ( in a container) with a folded, thick blanket to protect them from the cold. He had decided it made a good place to nap, and today, even though I had removed blanket, he was gack on top of the container. It has a latice work top, that both helps hold the plants upright and helps keep the kitties off new baby plants, but decided I must teach him this is NOT a sleeping place. I still had some branches of evergreen, so I put that over the top, they are a bit sticky and must not smell nice to kitties, he m oved his sleeping place to a deck chair! He is really a smart kitty, just have to let him know what the rules are, and he will comply.

HI ROLANDA, good to have you back home! Does Peter go back to work tomorrow? Did you bring home a mountain of clothes to feed the machine? How did the boys manage for 3 weeks without Mom?
I am glad you had good weather mostly and enjoyed your time away.

Good morning all. I just stopped in for a quick hello. Hubby is going to work and the boys and I are going shopping. I need to buy navy pants for tuesday. They are asking everyone at my school to wear navy pants and a white shirt or an Obama tshirt for inauguration day. We will not be doing much teaching, we will be watching the inauguration. We have special lesson plans for the day.

MizT.... not many people have the common sense to be able to think like a cat. I'm impressed. Glad Phantom is feeling better, too.
Mama..... Great way to celebrate Sully's birthday! Just keep celebrating his life, no matter what anyone says.

I was going to take out the tractor
and go to Buffalo for another 10 rolls of hay
today, but it's snowing. My tractor wouldn't have any problem with it, but other drivers are idiots
and could cause an accident with a slow moving vehicle. Plus with the weight (1 ton each), I would be unable to stop quickly in an emergency. I think I'll hold off until tomorrow.

NOLA, best of luck dear, I hope the dentist appointment is brief and painless.
HEIDI, I hope your trip to get hay for the cattle is uneventful. Here we had rain and you might hate me for mentioning it, but our temp is 57 degrees and sun. I have been outside in shirt sleeves. Now mind you with the wind, would not want to be in the shade, but in the sun, or out of the wind it is pleasant out now.
I get my ability to communicate with these cats from living with Al, I think. I do think he was a cat in a former life! He makes cats mind.

Haven't left yet. Too lazy to get up, and got busy ordering stuff for the new finches. They'll be arriving later this week, and require special feeds made only for Lady Gouldian's. It'll arrive on Tuesday, before the finches. I plan on pocking up a small cage to start with, and adding a bigger flight and breeding cage later.

Morning all!
Heidi - it was a long time ago, but I'm about 90% sure my grandfather kept his finches in outdoor aviaries. One of the benefits of living somewhere with a much milder climate. He had lady gouldians, but many other types as well.
Nola - for some reason the dentist doesn't scare me, though I was very nervous the first time I went after having my jaw wired shut for 8 weeks. The dentist was rubbing his hands together - thought he was going to make a fortune out of me. Not one cavity!!!

Those finches do come from a fairly restricted area Heidi at the top of Australia.

Tami - the navy pants, white shirt thing is funny - that is our high school's winter uniform! Not that I bought the pants this year - very annoyed about how low cut they are. I think we are going to see almost as much of the inauguration as Americans based on the ads I'm seeing.
