not a lot to catch up! Half a page while I slept?? almost 4 hours with NO POSTS? Has the site been down? Have the Aussies melted and run into a puddle in their shoes?
HI KATE, glad you were enjoying the tennis.
MORNING STELLA! Would put the coffee on to share with you, but smilies are not working at the moment.
JUNE, using Firefox as my browser, I get all my misspelled words pointed out to me before I hit send, nice red line under them. Firefox has spell check. Well, almost all my typos and misspelled words. On occasion, my typo turns a word into another word, and dyslexic me does not see, and spell check does not find that of course. Just be assured, I would have a LOT more typos if I did not use this (remember way back when I did not use this?)
Gail and Bean lunching again, wish I could drop in for lunch! Beam me up Scottie!
HI Viv, Suzy, Julie and Heidi and Judy!
I am so happy all the "shy" people here feel comfortable in our little section of cyberspace! I talk to more people here in a day than I do in real life in a week, cause I do not SEE that many people in real life! Having internet friends really adds a lot to my life!

Hi MzT - got your sewing room all ready? I suck at sewing - was just chatting with another talented seamstress among us, Rola, about that very fact!
Jazzy - so good to have you with us - feels like Ruby is making visits.
Steve - always love the fly-bys!

hehehe - loved your "man work" phrase, Tricia...and thanks for the coffee - I truly needed it. Off to walk dogs with my girlfriend - our Wednesday morning hike in the woods. Then I have to grocery shop as the cupboards are bare!
Home to finish "The Book Thief" - have 50 more pages and our book club meets tonight.
Hope the kitchen works out well for you Tricia.

Catching up on comments.
Gail shy outside of this site? Yeah right. Seen ya in action remember Gail!!!!
Suzy, about the low cut school pants. I think if they were cut higher, the kids wouldn't wear them, so the school probably had to go that way. What's the blouse like? Worn in or out? Wouldn't it cover the bottom cleavage? I would pass on my concerns to the school. We always think we're the only ones with issues on such things, then find out later many parents feel exactly the same.

Hi all, I've managed to catch up on my reading now.
Haven't had much chance to chat lately.
thank you very much for your comments on my new gnephew, photo had been taken when he was just hours old so maybe he was a bit disgruntled about leaving the nice warm comfortable world he had know to be born into a heatwave.
I will let my niece see all your comments once I know she is home from hospital latter today (Aussie time)

A slow slow day today on the site. Now yesterday when I was busy, it was booming!
Table is clear for sewing, Vici, I think it will work nicely now. I finished sorting papers, I hate having to do that! So much was trash, I should remember the number one rule of incoming mail, handle it ONCE. toss all junk mail, put important things in an action file, done.

everybody.
I still can't believe that our Gail didn't believe me. She's never met me face to face. I have a panic attack when I have to talk to most people. I have a nasty stutter unless totally relaxed. Even when seeing a shrink, I freaked out and could barely get a word out unless I had a dog with me. So he let me bring a Collie to every session.

Good morning everyone.I know,I know I should still be asleep.I will catch up during the day hopefully. We paint a different picture in our minds of what people are like than what they probably are.I also am fairly shy.At work,if I ever get to speak up,most of them are shocked.
Hubby has msn and I hate it if he puts the camera on me,just like I hate having pix taken.
Hubby has the rotten job this week-end of trying to clear tree roots from the septic outlet on the main toilet.I am the gardener,so it is my fault! Now he wants to cut down all the trees.I left him a note under his pillow last night "I love you" Wonder if it will work and he leaves the trees alone.

The trees are the lungs of the planet. They help moderate the temps around a house:keep it cooler in summer, warmer in winter. They serve as homes to many more critters than you would expect. And they're beautiful. They're also alive. Cutting them down without there being something wrong with them is, in my opinion, a bad idea. There are additives that you can flush that dissolve roots in the septic system without harming the trees.

What keeps happening is the roots break the pipes.I will see what is available though once the new pipes go in so that we can save them.

Hi All....
Interesting convo regarding shyness....and yes, I too am shy! However, I am very talkative once I warm up a bit or am annoyed by stupidity, ignorance or rudeness...then I'm all mouth...Shyness is a funny thing...I can conduct classes because I'm in control of what goes on...however, it is a painful start...then I forget about me and become concerned on getting others involved...it works...the secret is to forget about yourself...easier said than done...but doable!
Like the others, anonymity and a common interest makes this a great forum for shy folks...and meeting in person after the fact is so much fun!.
There was more I wanted to say...but craft has taken over here...so I will end my book with a wish that good things happen to all of you...Peace!

Morning all!
Thank you for looking for the bird for me June. It was an amazing bird...
Bean, look forward to the next installment.
On shyness - I used to be painfully shy. Unfortunately I am also opinionated. If you want to be opinionated, you can't be shy. So now I say what I think without (too much) embarrassment to whoever I want (bosses don't scare me) and I talk to strangers in line at grocery stores. I am a little more shy with people I know or meet in social situations - the ones I care what they think of me!

One of my best cows just dropped dead for no apparent reason. She was 11 years old, in good health and body condition, and 8 months pregnant. Every year she's given us one of our best calves.... the males all grades high choice, borderline prime, the females are excellent cows themselves. This is very upsetting.
On the flip side, I have an adorable newborn lamb. A loud black and white pinto. I'm on my way out the door to go tag it now.

Tricia, I am reading a Di Morrissey book. She is an Australin Author.
CynB, hope you are feeling better today.
I would not say I am shy, but I am not very forceful with my opinions etc. In a group I tend to listen more than talk.

Morning Suzy, another warm day!
Vici, love the baby mooses.
Must go and pick up as sucky lady come today. The grocery shopping and a coffee with friends.
Suzy I still have not identified your bird. I take it that it was the size of a large pigeon. I found about 6 with the stripes above the eye and short tails. They could also be found in your area but when I googled them for extra photos they looked different.

I would rather never have another lamb born than to have lost that particular cow. Her last calf sold for around $1,300. / AU $ 1,982. Most of our cows don't perform quite that well.

June, you have the size right - I think - it was a long way up! After I got the first photo I wished it would move so I could get a different angle. Even if I could have thrown something that high to disturb it I wouldn't have, though the thought did cross my mind.

Forgot the shirt question Susan - worn out, but made very short. It covers the top of the pants until you sit down.
BTW, I've been buying the school pants for 3 years already - this new batch is the problem. Each lot is made to a slightly different pattern, the long pants are even in different fabrics.

I'm hoping that my new hats will arrive tomorrow or the next day. I'm really excited about them. I also bought a bird cage for the finches that's due to arrive tomorrow.... 30" long, 18" deep and 55" high. That'll be big enough for a few more finches as well.

Back again after pruning and weeding.Noticed a butcher bird with a small snake not far from me,so that was the end of my gardening.
June the pipes are plastic but must have had a leak where the small roots could get in,then grew and broke it.
Oh Heidi, sorry about your good breeding cow!

Hair sheep are not a cross between goats and sheep. They have the same number of chromosomes as wooled sheep. The primary difference between hair sheep and wooled sheep is the ratio of hair to wool fibers. All sheep have both types of fibers. Hair sheep have more hair fibers and wool sheep have more wool fibers. Wooled sheep need sheared. Hair sheep do not.
