Suzy, tell that kid, from someone who is too close to this horrible event, that she has captured the emotion I have been feeling all week.
That was amazing, it has given me tingles up my spine!

Someone has a way with words Suzy!
Hope you do not get too much rain Viv.
We think of you often Mamacita. It is very hard not to still have the one you have loved for most of your life beside you.Our loving thoughts go out to you.
Tami's Mum. There is an injection you can get in the first few days which often cures the shingles.Otherwise they can sometimes last for years. I play bowls with a woman in her 80's who still gets an annoying itch after about 3 years.
Stella, hope the shoulder is soon much better.
Julie, I am not looking after Laura quite as much now, although I will have her this Wednesday as Sharon has an extra day at work.
About all I can remember for now.

Good Maen Sudokuland!
Coffee, Tea and hot chocolate available, come have a cup with me.
I might have to put on my winter clothes again, today will not be as warm, and it will be rainy. Yep, spring is put on hold for a couple of days.
Viv, prayers and fingers crossed for no flooding from that weather system you have.
It was most interesting to read, in that article BEAN posted, that former fire victims appreciated the hand made things, the quilts. I had seen mention of a puilt project for the fire victims, I must pass along that note to them. I also need to make some blocks for that project. Thank you Bean for posting that link.
I need a refill, Hugs and catch you later.

Hi Bobbi, like you it was my daughter who introduced me to the puzzles over 3 years ago. As we are probably of a similar age I would be happy to call you Bobbi.( my daughter still does the puzzles nearly every day but does not have time to read comments)

Heidi,I keep thinking of all the calves and other animals joining your Surreal farm this spring. Dad staggered our calves throughout the year as we had a dairy farm. He always knew when a cow was about to drop a calf but only got up at night if he heard the cow bellow in a way he knew it was in trouble.

With beef cattle, we ship them out to the feedlot together, so we need the calves as uniform in age and size as possible. The buyers want a uniform, predictable group. After more than a dozen years doing this retained ownership, the big processors know what to expect from our herd, so we get premiums for ours, above the going price. Ours DO top the market nationally every year.

Morning all!
Morning rush is over and I have an empty house!!
I agree, not many comments overnight...
Morning June and Heidi. Heidi I read recently that naming Dairy cows and treating them as part of the family increases milk yields. I wonder if yours do well because you think of them as individuals?

We have a few cows that give us no warning as to when they're gonna calve. Cows are SUPPOSED to bag up before calving, but these few don't bag up until they actually give birth. I have studied them 2 hours before they calve, and am convinced that they won't calve for 2 more weeks. Then there is one cow who bellows like crazy when she goes in labor. It sounds like she thinks the world is coming to an end. After 1/2 hour of bellowing, she pops the calf out easily.

Bobbi, you can change your name from Trouble's Mom if you like. Brat can do it for you, or you can click on 'update details' at the top right of the page and put Bobbi in the User Name field where Trouble's Mom would be now. Then at the bottom left of that page select the 'update details' button and you're done!

'Morning Suzy. We had over 120 cows, with about 100 going through the dairy twice a day, so they did not all have names. Dad knew all the cows and if one did not turn up to be milked he always knew.
