I was going to find a link for this story but decided I don't want to perpetuate this hideous man in any way.

He drives CynB. Actually he got fined the other day for speeding. LOL He was doing 68km in a 50km zone. The cop made it 65km he was doing and he has written a note to try and get out of it quoting his exemplary driving record.
No I would not be going out in this weather even if I did have wheels today.
About to make a carrot cake here.

Yes, Brenda - we went along to the protest meeting hoping to hear something constructive from the Goverment reps and well thought-out comments from the locals. The Mob, who predominantly weren't locals but a 'rent-a-crowd' who go to all protests - took over, yelled, unterrupted and generally disrupted the meeting and our local community were left stunned with no answers. We all stood around afterward shaking our heads, stunned.

Delivery man just dropped my Avon off.
He said lots of parts of Port have flooded, and they are about to close the Port to Wauchope Rd.

Just tried to ring the boy on his mobile phone.. went straight to answer message..
Guess his phone is either flat, or out of range.
If they are not back at the lodgings, then he cant charge his phone.
Will let you all know when I know.

Correct CynB. I would say the road into Port from the North end along Hastings River Drive will be under water shortly if not already too.
When the rain has passed it will send down all the crap floating in the river and out to sea.
We have an area here called Milton Circuit where they print the paper etc. and lots of other businesses. That is flooded already, that is always first to go.

Not really here, but decided to have a cup of coffee and breakfast for lunch - trying the oats Liz!

Rolanda, too much of this country is out of range for phones. Mum 'rescued' a couple of people who were out of range and had broken down. She even changed an Italian couple's tire for them!

Cyn, good news about the phone calls!

Viv, if I remember Port correctly, we would have been cut off from Ebob. She was in a camp ground on one side of the river and we were on the other.

Brenda, the mob mentality combined with ignorance... a very dangerous thing. That poor doctor! I hope she was supported and things worked out for her in the end.

Good evening everyone. I am just stopping in for a few minutes. I had a very busy weekend. I worked on Saturday morning and then came home. The four of us and In-laws went out to dinner and then the boxing matches. We had awesome seats. The boys were thrilled to watch a first round knock-out. Mitchell was even happier watching the ring girls. Sunday I had to do all my shopping. Loaded the freezer, I am probably good for a month. Today hubby was off so we had some work done on my van and then went to a park. Mitchell and I are driving to Atlanta, Georgia this weekend. It is about a 10 hour drive. We are going on Friday and coming home Sunday. We will be staying at a friends house.

Been watching an old silent movie with Douglas Fairbanks (Sr) called The Black Pirate. I think Jr. was a better actor, and better looking.

NSW SEVERE WEATHER WARNING
for Flash Flooding
For people in
Northern Rivers, Midnorth Coast and Hunter

Issued at 11:20 am on Tuesday 17 February 2009

This is an update of the warning issued at 4:55 am Tuesday.

Synoptic Situation: 9:00 am EDT Tuesday
A Low off Coffs Harbour is expected to move southwards close to the coast today to be off the Hunter coast tonight. Heavy rain is continuing near and south of the Low. The Low will move further south on Wednesday.

A trough will persist off the north coast as the Low moves away, and this trough is forecast to deepen off the Northern Rivers coast tonight, with another Low possibly forming in this region. Heavy rain is forecast to redevelop with this system tonight.

Very heavy rain is expected to cause further flooding about the Mid North Coast south from Coffs Harbour today, though the worst conditions are gradually clearing from northern areas. Very heavy rain will reach the Hunter area this afternoon and continue there overnight.

Very heavy rain with flash flooding is forecast to redevelop about the Northern Rivers overnight and spread south to affect the Mid North Coast again on Wednesday morning.

A Flood Watch is current for coastal streams from the Queensland border to the Hunter.
Flood Warnings are current for a number of rivers including the Orara, Bellinger, Nambucca, Macleay, Hastings, Manning and Hunter.

I have a problem that I wish you could all help me with. I was given a "Christmas Tree" at Christmas and I am having a problem having it disappear. It is about 12 inches high and made out of layers of dark and white chocolate and nuts and dusted with icing sugar. Looks quite spectacular. I do like some chocolate, but 1 1/2 kilo (3lb) is really more than I want and definitely more than my waistline needs!
I have done a bit of nibbling around the edges.

We are about to go out to dinner with friends whose 18 year old grand daughter had a very severe stroke last year. Had to be resuscitated several times. She is in Sydney for operations and has had three long operations in the last week. Apparently she is doing well.

That is a problem I am sure I could help with...if I was nearer!
Strokes are such a terrible, indiscriminate problem. As a matter of fact, I have heard the word today more times than I want to hear it in a lifetime. I hope her operations are successful and that her recovery is swift.
Enjoy your dinner June.

Things are still damp here....great......so we did not play bowls.
Pennants start next week and although I am just a reserve I am also the umpire when they play at home so things will be busy for the next month or so.
