Good Afternoon from here to wherever you may be...hoping to hear nothing but good news, but then I would not be living life as it finds us would I. We do have our share of both the good, the bad and the ugly on these pages. Starting with the ugly, Broni...I agree that you have had far too much stuff from the itch, and now with the bossman trying to cover his behind adding to the woes is far too much...yes, it is time to look elsewhere and let them know they have lost their 'good thing'. I know you will find a place that's better for you. MzT...thank you so much for the offer of sharing the avatar with me...but as green as it has made me, It looks too good on you for me to copy it and remove, or I should say attempt to remove, since it wouldn't be done...I'd rather admire it on you. I am saddened to learn that life has become so difficult for your friend, and can imagine your distress with hearing such finality in the conversation...as someone said, perhaps he was just having a bad day. I'm sure just seeing you will be an up-lifting experience for him. We are sometimes allowed to know our end, or will it because of ill health, I do hope this is not the case, and the two of you will again have a chance to share time together...May the dove of peace travel with you. Now for the good news..June so happy that you had a nice day and the calamari was memoriable.I am also glad that you are having physio today and there may be a way to get the swelling down ...weather can set off so much...and that you have advice from knowledgeable folk like Tricia to help you form questions and discussions with your doctors. Midge, you are something else my friend. You do indeed make every attempt to show others how to live with things that would hold back many...keep it going...you make me proud to know folks like you. I do hope the dialysis treatment can be worked out and you get to visit your friends with hubby. Heidi...glad you had a bad shot and hope the effects last for a very long time. Take care. Glad too that perhaps Maxine has grown enough that the old boyfriend's true nature has become seen and is unwanted. I hope she wins full custody of the kids and child support so that she can start afresh...however, June's caution is a good one and I'm sure you will be careful. Suzy...hope the family doesn't come down with colds now...you guys need a good health outbreak and it would find a real welcome in your house, I'm sure. Julie...enjoy what keeps you going...and make hay while the sun shines, as they say. Your life while busy seems to bring you joy...and that's a good thing. Okay folks...I have things to do and places to go...I look forward to my return.. Take care. Peace.

Thank you friends for your comments about Eddie and for reading my rambling. this morning, weather played up my fibro. I was not able to travel down to visit. I did have another long conversation with him and just asked him if it was getting so bad he was goona check out early. Nope, but it seems he has just come to grips with how serious his condition really is, and he wanted to tell several people thank you's for being in his life, just in case he did not talk with them again. I am satisfied he will not harm himself now, and we promised to keep in touch more often from here on out.
Daughter will arrive tomorrow around dinner time. I had planned to go to grocery today, then put off till tomorrow, but I found there was a place for me on the bus to go with the group to farmers' market and to lunch tomorrow. there is only one power chair place, and Loraine had signed up, but she scratched her name off. She has been sick, must have decided being out in the heat for market would not be good. My favorite restaurant, so I am going. I have food enough for tomorrow night and Saturday too for that matter and can just wait till daughter and I can go to grocery together. Much easier for me that way.
I need to de clutter a bit, but first a nap is in order. four hours of major hurt today, when barometric pressure took a dive, and pain meds did not work at all, left me very tired. I did go out and water a few things needing water, and cut out a bag full of dead stuff. I am still getting winter killed fronds from the ferns and leaves from the cast iron plants. That is something I can only do a bit a day, but will eventually be done.
I read, and enjoyed your comments, but will have to come back to reply at a later time.
Looks like rain now, good napping weather. Hugs to each of you, with extras, till later.

Midge, thanks for the history lesson about the China Men, just grew up with the saying which is probably politically incorrect nowadays like so many words. Strange that when we used so many words like g@llyw@g and blackb@ys(a plant)there was no malice intended, we were innocent then but I will probably be kicked off for using those terms nowadays.
Midge, if you do make it up to Brissy there are some wonderful people that would love to catch up with you even for a quick coffee. Keep us posted.
Extra long weekend for me, have four days off thanks to the Queen we have Monday off as well.

Broni, enjoy your days off, you deserve them. Rest, eat, rest some more.
Midge, I also thank you for the story of the China-men. We have words that are no longer appropriate. I imagine most cultures do.
Daughter #2 will be flying into Birmingham tomorrow, arriving at afternoon rush hour. Now our rush hour is nothing compared to California, but has been a while since she was here, and never come from airport to my apartment. She is coming here, not far at all from airport, a 15 minute or less drive, to have dinner before going to her hotel. she already plans to visit me every day,at least once. Her first idea was to get dressed for her appointments then come have breakfast with me. Translate that, she expected me to make her breakfast every day. Breakfast is included at her hotel, I told her she should take advantage of that and visit later. Am I a bad mother?
I am not sure I can handle so much togetherness. I am so accustomed to living alone now, it will be a challenge for me, especially if she is as inconsiderate a guest as she has been other visits, and if this fibro is not better. I have been up and down in bed today cause of it, either waiting for meds to start working, or waiting for time for next dose.
I did manage to get out and water some containers that do not get rain, all other plants are good for a few more days. I planted that double angle wing begonia that was donated, into a larger container, and took some photos with my cell phone camera. I do hope I can get those from camera to computer so I can share. Thankfully fibro was not constant pain all day, just meds did not work for long enough dose to dose. VERY grateful for the relief I did have today.
I started hurting about 8 am, and I noticed on my favorite weather site that barometric pressure took a fast dip starting at 7:30. Why?
OK, off to bed for the night, sending hugs to each of you with extras.

Hi all.
Nice to see you visit Mama and to hear you are doing well.
Midge..how is everything going? Hope you have the dialysis sorted.
June..it must be a real disappointment that the meds aren't working for you in the way they should. That trip back to the Dr may be needed.
Heidi..I am so pleased that your epidural might be a goer this time.
MizT..your posts about the gardening are terrific to read. Pity the weather and your health make it
so painful at times.

Broni..I hope you can find a much better job very soon, where you will be treated with respect. Bullying etc, is just not acceptable but sadly it goes on.
Suzy..by now, all your colds, should be starting to improve, if there were no new outbreaks by those that have escaped it.Good news, that Alies tests are OK.

Greg and I are still working on the front garden.
With it being so unseasonably warm still, we dont last too long in the sun. I get extremely hot, glass's fog up and sweat stings my eyes. I try to do it early in the morning but even then, there is little shade. Today, Greg has gone to get the unused weed matting from sons place that was left over after we did his gardens after the floods.
Then we need to do some more poisoning before laying it and the mulch left over from getting trees cut down.

Sorry that I haven't been commenting. Sometimes I just don't know what to say, and sometimes others say it much better.
I've been getting plenty of rest, and have high hopes for this epidural.
Tricia.... you are NOT being a bad mother. you're being a great mother. You're still teaching your D2 life lessons. This time she needs to learn to get her money's worth (- there is no such thing as a free meal. It's included in the room total) and not to depend on mommy to feed her once she claims to be an adult.

Tomorrow, at 6:52 EDT, is the 146th running of the Belmont Stakes, the third jewel in the Triple Crown. California Chrome has post position 2 in a field of 11, and is a heavy favorite. My fingers are crossed that he's the super horse that racing needs.

I just finished watching a replay of the mind-blowing Belmont victory of Secretariat's, and just realized that California Chrome will be wearing the same #2 saddle blanket. Omen? In a little over 5 hours, we'll know if he is legendary.

Just checking in to let you know all is well. Still dealing with aftermath of plastic surgery required after BCC removal. I really don't care for the pain meds. Quit them yesterday, but still nauseous, feeling 'not myself,' and preferring sleeping to being awake. My nose is bandaged as much as my sister's 30 years ago when her nose was broken in a car accident. At least her dressing was clean and white. Will miss a concert I wanted to go to tomorrow. Hoping to feel well enough for the trek to and from my sister for a hair cut in the coming week.
Sending all my best to all of you: healing vibes, positive thoughts, prayers, {{{{{HUGS & JUGS}}}}}, and

Julie, so sorry to hear you are having difficulty after your surgery on nose. If I may ask, what type anesthesia did you have for the surgery? I was once told by an anesthesiologist that it takes about 6 weeks to get over a general anesthetic. The meds they use to keep us comfortable during surgery are very strong, and hard on our body. I assume not as hard as feeling all that pain would be for us, but still. Best advice is to take it easy until you can eliminate all the residue of the anesthesia. Lots of water or non caffeinated flouts will help to wash they from body. I have found heat, summer temps, makes me feel worse when on painkillers or after surgery, so stay cool, rest and drink up! Hope you are soon back to normal. Hugs friend, very gentle ones.

Vent: Friday afternoon and evening with daughter #2 was nice. I had cooked our evening meal a bit at a time over the day, with lots of rest between. by time she arrived, my hip was screaming, so she served our plates and warmed them. boy, having a daughter two Fridays in a row serve up dinner (Tay even washed up dishes after) was a treat, but the reason behind it was no treat, believe me. Will discuss hip problem with pain doc on Thursday.
Then this morning, after telling her she should eat at hotel and see me later, I get a phone call at 6 am, waking me after only about 4 hours sleep or less, bad night, to say she was coming over to make me breakfast. Nice gesture, but NOT at 6 am! Her excuse for not eating at hotel? There were no plated on the buffet table, and she did not see much she could eat. Yes, there were eggs and sausage, her breakfast is usually eggs and some neat and toast, but ' I do not like eating eggs someone else has cooked.' Really? AAAAGGGGH.
she had a 9 am appointment to see apartment, so was out of here by 8:15, all of this is before my usual getting up time! I could not get back to sleep, and she was back at noon for lunch. Yes, she is making the meals, but finding fault with what she finds in fridge. Friday evening: ' How long ago did you cook the salmon patties?' Saturday lunch: ' I do not eat fat free sliced ham.' 'Is this the only bread you have?' AAAAAGGGGGGGGH. She left by 3 pm, and I went to bed. I think I slept with one small intermission for a light snack, from 3:30 till 9 pm. I feel Much better now after some sleep, and pain meds are at least working now.
I have invited her to take me to grocery tomorrow. I will buy my normal groceries and she is to buy anything she wants that is not my usual purchase. She has expensive eating habits, never considers price or budget, but I do have limits. We will see how that goes. she said she would let me sleep in tomorrow, we will see. I am tempted to turn off ringer on phone, but not sure I remember how!
thanks for reading, writing about this help get it off my mind. You are good to read this far.
I hope tomorrow will be better. I knew her visit would be difficult, and I am sure this flare of fibro is not making it any easier for me. When a mistep in kitchen today sent rockets of pain from hip to leg, she reached over to gently rub my back, and I could not tolerate even that gentle touch! Just don't touch me!! When it gets that bad and I am alone, I climb in bed and cover my head and just wait it out, it always gets better. I am not good company when this happens. I did not have that option today, and I should have.

Heidi, sorry California what's-his-name did not win. Can you tell me about the race? I did not see it. would like to know a bit about it. As to not knowing what to say here on comments, please just report in on your day. I do enjoy what you do on the farm, how the animals are doing. Is whimsey pregnant? Did you have to put Izzy down? what is Gill up to these days. As for others saying things better, I often find that true and will sometimes say 'what she said'. That lets us know you are reading and in agreement. I for one have missed your posts lately, and was wondering what was going on. I always think you are having bad pain days when you are absent, and I worry about you!
MIDGE, did you ever sort out the dialysis for your trip?
June are you doing better? Do not see a post from you recently.
Nola, thanks for your comment about weather and gardening. weather is really working on my fibro at the moment. T storms every afternoon/night for last 5 days. I think in the last 2 weeks, only 2 days without storms. It has been so long I cannot remember. Of course it is now weekend, I need to get to my doc for a 'breakthrough pain' injection. He will not give me same med in tablet form, it is known to cause stomach problems and with my history of GERD, it is best not to even try it orally. But one good thing, I do not have to get out and water garden when hurting, that works out nicely, rain is doing a more than adequate job
Only have to water containers that are under roof. I did that today so is good for another 4 or 5 days. Everything is growing with the hot weather and sun between the rains, and ya know, the pansies are still hanging on!
NOLA, what parts of US will your BIL visit in the next weeks? Sounds as if he is having a great time!
OK, hope I am caught up now. T storm has just left our area, a LOT of lightning and thunder, I had NO PROBLEM hearing this tonight. Of course have not checked outside, it is midnight, and we did have some wind. there might be more limbs down in the garden, a few older trees have some dead branches. I am NOT cleaning those up, not huge, but too much for me, and they would NOT fit through the building hehehe. yes we have a garden gate to parking area, but it has 4 steps, I do not do steps, especially trying to drag out 10 foot long dead branches!
Hugs to each of you, with extras. till later.

Heidi, daughter is here for a week, BUT this is to find her an apartment. Before summer is over she is likely move back to Birmingham!
I am trying now to set some limits that will carry over. If she would be more considerate, it could be good having her here, she can take me to grocery and help with other difficult things.
when did she start behaving like this? I think when she was about 14, when I married again! after her father and I separated when she was 10, with just the two of us, she had no competition for my attention. I believe she still feels entitled to same. When she had to share, she decided to go live with her father, and got HIS undivided attention. He has spoiled her totally, paying her bills she could not pay, giving her most anything she wanted except his love, but that is another long and involved story.

Broni, hope you can find another job soon. Tax time soon so surely someone is looking for a good book keeper,.

Having a nice long weekend.
A friend came over on Saturday and cut back a palm that was trying to push over my fence and again on Sunday to cut back a triangle palm that was around the power lines to the house then took the lot away.
Had a lovely dinner with Teresa and a friend of hers then a very fun game of cards.
Hope you enjoy you day June, glad you got the meds sorted out.
Julie, Teresa had a carcinoma cut from her lip and it healed up very quickly hope your nose does too.
Nola, enjoy your gardening, mine thrives on neglect.
MizT, hope your daughter is trainable.
My cous Maz would have been 60 yesterday, hope she partied with the family up there.
Well of to take Bella for a walk before she destroys the house, hopefully can run off some of that excess energy.
Did think of you all as I read, wish we could comment under a post life that other site.

Greetings to all!
Midge, I hope you have been able to reschedule dialysis to a better time. I also hope you will be able to travel with hubby and get dialysis while 'on the road.'
Heidi, so sorry about California Chrome. His owner had valid complaints, I think. I hope your latest epidural lasts a really long time! Take care of yourself, and let us know how you're doing!
June, I'm glad you returned to your doctor and are working with him/her to straighten out meds issues!
Suzy, I hope Alie is well, Tahli's behavior is improving and there are no colds in your household!
MizT, seems like your D's visit couldn't have come at a worse time. I suspect she thinks she is helping you. There must be some way to let her know you need to see less of her and her help for now. I'm sure you are relieved to hear that Eddie doesn't seem to be planning anything. Hopefully you will soon feel better and be able to visit him, not just keep in touch by phone.
Broni, so sorry the saga of the itchy one and the boss continues. I hope you can find a new and more appreciative place of work!
It was good to see Victoria's post. So nice you have a Tassie holiday to look forward to! Hopefully the time leading up to it will go quickly.
Nola, so glad to hear that you and Greg are doing well and getting garden work done. Hope you enjoyed your birthday!
Mamacita, your posts and TOPP were welcome additions to the page. Your words are always welcome! We hope you are feeling well and you and Jaz are enjoying the early summer weather.
I apologize if I have neglected to respond to anyone's comments!
WARNING: If you're a bit queasy or not interest in medical procedures, do NOT read the following! My BCC was in the area where nose and face meet. At our annual checks, we were nearly finished when I asked Dr. P. (almost an afterthought) if the spot alongside my nose was anything to be concerned about. He asked how long I'd had it (a number of years), and he said he'd feel better about it if it had been there since childhood or at least high school. He did a biopsy a few weeks later. Dr. T, the dermatologist who did the Mohs procedure isn't our regular dr., and she 'always sends anyone with BCC near the nose to a plastic surgeon for closing'. When we got to him, he did a bit of looking from different angles, then started drawing on my nose. I asked hubby to take a photo, but he refused. The surgeon showed hubby that my nostril was about half the size of the other and started talking about taking a graft of cartilage from behind my ear. I began to suspect this was more than we expected. They only briefly used general anesthesia (or maybe just deeper than twilight, because I wasn't aware of them working on my ear). Most of the time it was just 'twilight' anesthesia, so I heard them talking and even opened my eyes a few times. The dressing will be changed on Tuesday, so I wonder what I'll see.
Now, let's return to our regularly scheduled comments! It's time t

Julie, I do hope you are regaining your energy now, and soon back tonormal after your surgery. Did you have any special care of the area you must do? I think you said it ws still under a dressing, OK. Reason I asked, friends here who have had the regular BCC surgery lately have been instructed to apply a vinegar/water solution to the wound a couple times daily, followed by some vaseline to keep it soft. This instead of the previous antibiotic cream. Doctors are at last really trying to reduce the use of antibiotics.
June, it is so fortunate you were under cover for the strong rains in Sydney. I hope you did not get too chilled without a coat. It is good to hear you are dealing with the pain better with the meds now. Keep getting better and sending huge hugs to you. So glad the pup survived getting into the rat poison. that was scary just reading about that, could have been so much worse.
Hugs to each of you, with extras, till later.

There was an interesting tv programme on last night about the bushfires in NSW. It showed all the problems the firefighters have to deal with as well as all the technology they use in spotting the fires. Also showed how diificult putting out fires in the eucalyptus trees. On sceen showed a eucalyptus tree stump burning inside, there was no sign of fire but the heat sensing cameras found it. They needed the helicopter to drop 5 buckets of water on one stump...it was incredible. To me in the UK, not used to huge forest fires it was an eye opener.

I had an appointment for 11:15. they ask you arrive at least 15 min prior to go through check in and get your 'ticket'. I was a bit earlier than that, the line for checking in was short. I went right back to his office waiting area and was called in to see the nurse within 3 minuets, honest! I was back in the car and almost home before time for my appointment. NO questions why I needed it, what was wrong, or the doctor will be in shortly. Just come into exam room, I will be right back with the med. Wonderful to have the trust of the doc, if I say I need it, he knows I really need it. And it worked it's magic once again. Perhaps stopping that Hurt, Tense, Hurt More pain cycle will keep me feeling top notch for a while.
Brenda, your TV program sounds very educational. We have huge fires in parts of US, California and the west, but not the eucalyptus trees. I did not know they could be burning inside with no sign outside. thanks for telling us about that.
Today, Tanya took me to see her favorite apartment so far . She drove my car, cause her rental is too low slung, most difficult for me to get in and out. We had 3 incidents in the one trip. first, she backed into a dumpster. Only minor scratches and dent on my back bumper. Coming home, first a 'road alligator' flew up and hit windshield on my side. NO damage. Just 3 or 4 minuets later, a rock flew up and hit windshield drivers side, left a big circular crack, I think it goes full circle. Might have to replace windshield because of that, bummer. When we got home I climbed into bed and covered my head! I think it is time to go back, did not realize how tired I am.
Hope your day has been less eventful, and everyone is having the best day possible. Hugs to each of you, with extras.

Greetings! Just dropping by to say Hello and hope all are well!
June, hope you and Ken enjoyed the steam trains display! How awful to be cold for so long. I hope you weren't tensed the whole time trying to stay warm! At least you could avoid most of the rain!
Welcome home, Brenda! The TV program sounds interesting! I don't envy you and the holiday laundry - need to do some of our own here!
MIzT, so sorry about the car problems, but SO glad you were able to get the pain injection so easily! Feel better tomorrow!
Survived trip to and from my sister for hair cuts. Tomorrow our cat goes to the vet for fluids, I go to the plastic surgeon for ? change of dressing? removal of stitches? not sure what will be involved. Then meeting of wood-turners club. Maybe time for a nap in there somewhere?
Sending positive thoughts, healing vibes, prayers, {{{{{HUGS & JUGS}}}}} and
for everyone!

Gekko my friends.
My computer is about to go kaput so if you don't hear from me don't worry.
Hopefully will get a new one on Friday but setting it up may be a challenge, it has been a while since I last did this.
June is that steam train thingy still on? My cous from Adelaide is coming up here in his campervan via Melbourne next weekend and he is a real train nut! Sure he would swing by Sydney if he knew it was on.
Heidi, Nooooooooo! You were meant to take care.
MizT, I do not like confrontation but perhaps a quiet sit down and talk about how her help could be better directed and not leave you in pain.
Julie, sure the doctors knew what they were doing and it won't take long to heal. Was just thinking it may improve your breathing/sleeping, hope so.
Well may not be back for a few days.
Luv and Jugs to you all.

Heidi, hope you are much better by tomorrow. Take the time you need to rest. Thanks for dropping in to let us know why you are absent.
Julie, how was the trip to the plastic surgeon? I hope it went well and you are healing as you should be. did theytake out stitches? Remove bandage? How does it look now? Of course it will be bruised and red now, perhaps swelled a bit also. will take a while to go down. Once my bandage came off, the one that was a cut and stitch, my surgeon told me to RUB the scar. While young, the scar would be soft and pliable, and the rubbing would almost 'erase' the scar. Not rub anything on it, just rub with clean fingers. I did, and now it is almost invisible, a 4 inch scar in front of my ear.
Broni, I hope your puter will hang in there for another day or 2, till you get the new one and get it set up. thanks to you too for letting us know what was happening, in case you do not get back.
Rain rain rain. we had over 2 weeks with nothing but sunshine, now nothing but a daily rain. I am at a loss, what to do with myself, since nothing but 3 things need watering now. the ferns, the Urns with the fatsia, and the diffenbackia (sp?) which are all under cover. Not worth the trip downstairs to water just those
.
Daughter has found 2 apartments she really likes, she could do with either one of them. So now to see what her uncle says, he is in charge of finances. the one she saw today is 50% larger than my little dinky apartment, and still a 1 bedroom. AND it has washer dryer connections, I do think I miss my washer more than anything I left behind.
time for a nap, rain has back compllaining a bit. tomorrow is pain doc appointment. I will have to drive down, just one blocvk down the street, but vehicle, either car of power chair, would be 2 and a half blocks, and chair is not water proof. T storms forecast again tomorrow, so via car it is.
Hugs to each of you with extras, till later.
