My Father In Law got the results back from the surgery. It WAS cancer, but they're certain that they got it all. He caught it really, really early.

In the end, only three things matter: how much you loved, how gently you lived, and how gracefully you let go of things not meant for you. ~ Buddha

Every experience, no matter how bad it seems, holds within it a blessing of some kind. The goal is to find it. ~ Buddha

I thought both of these quotes attributed to Buddha were appropriate today. Thinking of all of you!

MAMA, I am so sorry to hear the news from your sister. You are right, those middle of the night phone calls are such a shock, and the time between the first ring and the time you hear the news is full of dread and anxiety and is eternities long. We all know just what you went through and would love to be with you to comfort you in person.

Instead, we are here, at our computers with tears in our eyes, as we think of the ones who will be left behind, and know the difficulty of the days to come. May your sister be at peace, know that her family is with her in spirit if not in person, and may she painlessly slip away in her sleep when it is her time.

Sending huge hugs to you and to all the extended family. May your memories of your sister be of great comfort to you.

Oh No, Mama - my thoughts are with you at this time. Having a sister, I know how I would feel should anything happen to her - and as we get older, both nearing 70, we know that one of us will be left behind. Big hugs to you

MizT - Kate's photos were on FB and there were hundreds of them. I will send you a PM with her real name, she is a member of the Sudoku Friends Group.

Hi, Everyone!

Cyn, now I'll need to go looking for Kate's photos on FB. Not sure if I have 'friended' her, so may not be able to see them. Thinking of everyone with special warm and encouraging thoughts for Mama!

Heidi, I hope your FIL makes an excellent recovery after his surgery! What wonderful news that they they they got all of the cancer!

June, are you recovering from guests yet? I'm sure your garden is looking wonderful and appreciates the work you did it in before the visitors arrived.

We decided to buy the cello. I had over $1500 credit from about 3.5 years of renting. The dealer put a 'posture peg' on it at no charge and reduced the price by about $300. We're satisfied, as we don't remember an instrument dealer ever reducing the price below what he initially asked for an instrument back when we needed to buy an instrument for our children.

Heidi, I'm so sorry your plans for Whimsey didn't work out! We'll you try again?

Tami, it's nice to see you here while you have a brief break from school.

I'm guessing it's getting close to the time when Broni's adventure begins. We'll be thinking of you!

I'm about to fall asleep, so I think it's time to say, 'Good Night!'
Sending much , healing energy, positive thoughts, prayers, and {{{{{HUGS}}}}}!

March Madness is taking it's toll on my nerves. Kentucky was behind in the game against Notre Dame MOST of the game. They won in the last split second. This win was pure luck. They're now the first and only team to go 38-0 in one season. Of course, they were also the first team to go 33-0, 34-0. 35-0, 36-0, and 37-0 as well. The Wisconsin/Arizona game was played first, and that was another neck and neck battle the whole game, until the last 6 minutes.

The house is quiet now that Sue is in Perth. I am slowly washing sheets and towels and getting the house back to normal. I am still getting rid of the weeds etc that were cleared out of the garden.
I did not take photos of Kate's house and I would not post them without her permission.
The photo I did put on my page was taken on the small boat going to Danger Island for lunch.
I now have to start getting ready for our trip. Easter next weekend and then school holidays with Laura going back to school on 20 April. We leave on 24 April.

June, you will have a busy time leading up to your trip. It's always so much fun to have guests, but the aftermath can keep you busy for a time. I imagine you were pleased to have done so much work in your garden prior to the visit, but the cleaning up afterward can be a lot of work. Will Laura spend most of her school holidays with you?

Tanya and I planted a few flowers yesterday. Mother Nature is watering them for us this early morning, and celebrating the fact with a noisy light show. {smile}. I have other flowers to plant today IF the weather permits. We can do the containers while under cover of the back patio I think.

another night with not enough sleep, so I am off to shower and then back to bed for a 6 am nap! Hugs to each of you, with extras.

I got the last 2 calves to the sale barn.... hours after I'd planned to. We went to load 'em up at 9 am, only to hear the one coughing up a storm. So we treated him with another dose of antibiotic, and let him rest until 2 pm. THEN I took them down there... with no coughing. The sale started an hour ago.

Hope the coughing calf remains cough free. antibiotics did work quickly for him. wishing you a good price on those two calves.

more planting today, rearranging the containers, making a list of what else I need. I should be on Lowes website looking for the items I need, and making an order for pick up.

Rain was forecast for today, we got that over with very early AM, and had a wonderful, sunny breezy spring day. Rain forecast again for most of the week. I would love for those days to turn out as nice as today.

I need shade loving plants for hanging baskets, two more double shepherds crooks to hang them on, for a total of 3 crooks, 6 hanging baskets. Need some gravel for the areas at the gates off the patio, that is so muddy. Like shoes with deep treads, power chairs tires will pick up the mud and track it inside. I can think of no way for a chair to 'wipe it's feet', so need to eliminate the muddy spots. Worse than the wet mud tracked in is the mud that dries in the treads, then once the chair moves again, on the carpet in apartment, big clumps of dried mud on the floor, yuck. Reminds me of Al bringing in mud deep in treads of his shoes, then next day leaving clump trails. 'but I wiped my feet', yep but that was not enough.

So very sleepy, need to prepare for bed, that will wake me up hehehe. Hugs to each of you with extras, till later.

Hi all, Just had to let all of you know how good the hugs and love and support feel. It seems as if we were given a double dose of loss in my family, a distant cousin also died the same day and about the same time as my sister. We hadn't met in person yet, but perhaps the two of them met as the traveled the road towards release of earth bound duties. There was certainly lots of company since Theresa and I also shared this loss with Dottie Rigo in our Sudoku family. Such a busy time of reclamation...I rather suspect my sister was organizing a 'get the party started' from all that left us. Yes, I have reached the point where I smile quickly when I remember things my sister might do...and that's a good thing. As Tricia suggested on tos, I am not trying to be strong and am indulging in things I might not do for myself, and letting others help me get beyond the darkness...and it feel good and right. As always, you guys and gals are so appreciated and more often right than one might suspect...Know just how much you help...I'll be around more often soon, We will have to wait until later, summer or longer before my sister's portrait will be ready (done with her ashes) and then we will have her memorial. Knowing my grand niece, she will be sending her Grandmom away in as spectacular style and love as she did with her mom...and It is well with my soul...will keep you updated at the time. Peace and love to all.

Thunder bumpers all around us, according to the weather radar maps. So far they have missed us .

Tanya and I worked in the garden again today. We put down some mulch after pulling out long runners of sticker vines. the garden is looking good! I have signs made to put in two places so the lawn maintenance people will not spray roundup again, or pull weeds. Last year they pulled up ALL my cleome seedlings, even though I had a sign. I must admit, they DID look a bit like marijuana seedlings so maybe they took them home with them hehehe I do not have a 'no spray' or 'no weeding' graphic in my print shop program, bummer. some of these workers are not so fluent in English. I must watch for them again, to be sure they do not ruin anything else this year.

Did I tell you about the pear tree, that is in a severe decline? I know it has mistletoe in the branches, but today I saw something else that frightened me. the area around the tree has been bare since the roundup fiasco last year. I had noticed that there were nut grass seedlings coming up, not a preferred grass, but at least something showing green in that bare area. Now, every one of the clumps of grass are turning yellow and brown, dying off. Is that soil so poisoned that nothing can grow? Seeds germinate and send down roots, and find tainted water, and die? That would surely explain the rapid decline of that tree, bummer. I thought we were through with the roundup damage. Just how strong was the stuff he mixed? surely he did not spray it on in it's concentrated form? Or did they get a batch of extra supper duty stuff? I am afraid what I might see next [sad]

Hi everyone.
Still thinking of you Mama and Theresa. Glad you let us know how you are.
Broni..have a very memorable holiday with lots of fun times and wonderful things to see.
Julie..you asked how my brother is. He had a bad reaction to endone, broke open the stitches and had to go back to hospital. Possibly he will be home again today. This has really knocked the stuffing out of him and will take a long time to get over, but that was expected.
I am still waiting for a passport but most things are booked. I haven't packed anything of course.
I ended up with a dry socket after the tooth was removed and am still getting some pain. Looks like it was the tooth causing the problem and it still is. Better now though than overseas.
Take care

Tricia...I didn't know roundup was residual but I am probably wrong. Or, maybe it was something else he used. I hope the pear tree doesn't die also.
The garden is going to look so beautiful when it all flowers.

Another quick visit to say hello.

Nola, so sorry to read about your brother. Hopefully he is now on the mend.

Mama, your post shares some of the good that is happening. So glad you are finding that good.

MizT, so sorry the Round-Up seems to be causing another year of problems in the garden. Good for you and Tanya and all the work you are doing. I hope you can successfully transmit the message to avoid pulling 'weeds' and spraying Round-Up.

Sending along a goodly supply of {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, positive thoughts, , prayers, and healing energy!

Shoot, lost my post, operator error. No time to recreate, so sending goodd wishes and hugs with extras till later. I have a few things that need ding before my doc appointment at 3 pm. for one I have a very early bus time, as several people need rides around the same time. Mine is 1:45 PM. I do hope I am not on the bus for an hour as he drops off others but going via bus in my chair is better than driving, parking and walking. This doc is in a HUGE medical center complex, parking is 2 or 3 blocks away, over bridges and through buildings, further than I can make, then ya gotta get back hehehe I do hope I am able soon to get a chair lift for my auto, would be so nice.
