Happy Birthday Tricia. Enjoy your special day. So pleased that you enjoyed the concert, especially as it was a free one. It was nice that you were able to see your BIL and family. Hope Tanya is OK. Loss of a parent is hard to deal with. Fine so far today so I got some washing out. Must get Ken to dig some garden for me later so I can plant my pansies.
Nola, sorry about the loss of your aunt and your patient. Hope that you can get rid of the snake. I do not like brown snakes as they can be aggressive. (Tricia all our snakes are protected but can be killed if posing a treat)

Greetings, All!

My sincere condolences to you, Nola, on the loss of your Aunty and a resident. A sad day, indeed! I join you in my dislike for snakes and prefer them immobile.

June, what a relief that it was a near-accident, and not an actual accident! I imagine you were shaken up a bit. I hope you have been able to rest since getting home!

MizT, I imagine it was a tough day for Tanya. I hope she got home safely! It sounds like The Music Man was enjoyable! The visit with your BIL and his partner sounds pleasant. I hope the rest of your day was enjoyable. Oh, and Happy Birthday!

Heidi, thinking positive thoughts for a successful and helpful appointment with the ENT!

Lizzy, how nice to see you for a quick visit. Enjoy!

And a visit from DOrA, too!

Sending prayers, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, positive thoughts, , and LOTS of healing energy for all!

Hello everyone - I did promise a few months ago that I would try to get here more often, I did for a while then drifted off again.
Have been back here today because I had a reminder of that day we attempted (and succeeded) in making 2222 posts on Easy for Andre. Many of us, including Heidi, June and Julie spent more time than we should have on Easy that day but we did it. I remember it as being such a fun day.
If you're interested, go back to June 11th, 2010 in the archives, and have a look.

I remember that day well Cynthia. Actually I think I read that Andre used to live in Oswaldtwistle and I thought of her a couple of weeks ago when we were in that area. (near Yorkshire Dales).
nice to see you visiting us here.

I hope you get some much needed relief from your ear problems Heidi, after the ENT visit.
It really needs some prompt expert attention.
June, Paul hasn't seen much positive feedback either about the snake deterrent. Most snakes here are protected MizT,poisonous or not. But I am not willing to risk being bitten.

The Doc put me on Cipro drops for 2 weeks, then, unless a miracle occurs, on July 2nd, they pull the tube and suction out my head.

Greetings friends, it has been another scorcher today. I woke early this morning, and got right out of bed. I was downstairs watering flowers at 6 am. Temps were a bit milder then, but I could feel them creeping up just in the hour i was outside.

Today I rode over to the thrift store where several of our residents volunteer. I had been looking online for 8 to 9 oz glasses. I had recently broken two that size. Online they were very expensive, and usually came with larger glasses as a set, I did not need larger, just those please. when I did find a set of 4, prices were more than i wanted to pay. I was so happy to find a new set of very heavy bottomed glasses, got the four for $2, yeah. I think I shall enjoy those for some time. Even a glass of milk tastes better when served in a nice glass

Had a great time at scrabble today. We always enjoy. when I got home I got a phone call from Joy, asking if I got what she sent. I told her I saw the cute card she sent as e mail. NO, something real should be there. No, nothing here. she had ordered flowers, they had sent an e mail they had delivered them. Not sure where they delivered them, but not here. time of delivery stated to be 5:55, uh, our building was locked at 5 pm, no way it was delivered then. Joy spent half an hour tracking them down to no avail, but she did get a promise they would be here tomorrow, and they gave her a discount for not making the delivery today. I think she was more upset than I was hehehe.

Had another 3 hour conversation on phone with her, enjoyed that, but now I am tired and ready for bed. Hugs to each of you, with extras, and many thanks for all the birthday greetings on my page here and on TOS. Makes me feel a bit special.

It is hot and hotter, I had to water again today, less than 36 hours after last watering. Combine bright sun, high temps and a brisk wind, poor plants get thirsty quickly.

AC is still struggling to keep cool. I know, first world problem, but it is making life difficult. It is bedtime but I have no desire to climb into bed because of the temps.

I have to leave the quartz hallogen lamp turned off, temp jumps about 4 degrees sitting in it's light. Makes typing a chore when I cannot see the keyboard to get hands on the correct keys hehehe.

I did read posts, HI to everyone, I will get back to reading and posting soon I hope. Tomorrow is a busy day, going to farmers market with the group from EP at eight am, Hopefully it will not be so hot that early, then at two pm, out to lunch with the girls.

My birthday flowers were found. Shannon, our services coordinator, had them in her office, they did get here to the building yesterday, just not to me

hugs to each of you, with extras, till later.

Just a quick Hello, then off to bed. It's another early morning for us tomorrow.

Heidi, I hope those two kinds of drops work together to knock out your ear infections! How wonderful to be able to hear a bit! Stay safe as Tropical Storm Bill visits and moves on!

MizT, I'm glad your birthday flowers were found! Hopefully the heat surrounding you will move on and your AC will again be able to cool things adequately! Take care!

Sending an adequate (I hope) supply of healing energy, positive thoughts, prayers, , and {{{{{HUGS}}}}} for all! Good night!

What a comedy of errors my morning was. I did not make the trip to farmer's market. My alarm did not go off, operator error. I set it for the time I needed to get up, then did not turn it on. I woke about the time I should have been downstairs waiting to board the bus. I was having major pain, difficult to get to kitchen for morning meds. I found my middle of the night dose of pain meds sitting on my record book, I had taken it out, wrote down time, got my glass of milk (best not to take on empty stomach) brought milk back to bedroom to drink, never swallowed the med. So nothing was going right for me to go on the trip.

what I worry about more than missing the trip is did I deprive someone who wanted to go the chance? There was only one power chair spot on the bus, I had signed up for it, and unless someone in a chair just showed up this morning to see if there was room, the spot went unused.

There is only one way for the day to go now, and that is UP. I will work hard to see that it does.

Nola, how sad that you lost an Aunt and a patient same day. Sending a big hug your way.

Heidi, I am wondering how you had a visit from Bill and he missed us completely. Well, we do have clouds this morning, but that is it. I have not seen a weather report lately, so had no idea the tropical storm had come ashore nor where. Hope he treated you gently.

I was happy to hear that the 2 kinds of drops and a big enough dose is helping your ear. May it continue to improve.

Julie, thanks for the flowers you sent to tide me over tilll mine from Joy arrived. that gave me a nice chuckle hehehe.

did I tell you what was in my bouquet? there are a dozen red red rose buds, 3 stems of Asiatic lilies with several unopened buds, one sunflower, 3 red carnations and i forget the name of the other flowers. all are long lived blooms, so it should stay looking nice for a week or more.

Many thanks for all the birthday greetings here, on my page, and on FB. I tried to keep up and reply to each, but then there came a bunch at once and am not able to tell who I thanked and who did not. It was so nice to get so many greetings over 2 days. I love the Sudoku 2 day birthday celebrations!!

Last minute, Bill swerved and viered northward to go directly over Louisville and Cincinnati. We got high winds and lots of rain, but nothing like we'd have gotten if the center of the storm hit us. Bill was a gentleman.

I hope you're feeling better with meds in your system, MizT. I've done that pill omision stunt before, too, and a person can really suffer for it.

Time for drops. I'll use one kind of drops... wait an hour.... then put in the other kind. Then it's 11 hours until I do it again.

MizT..such a shame that you missed your meds and then the bus trip that you were looking forward to. Getting flowers is always very special and by your description, are beautiful.
Heidi..that was a close call with 'Bill'. It gave me a smile when you called him a gentleman. I hope that the drop regime gives much relief to your pain and hearing until the next step comes up.
Julie..sounds like the usual busy time for you. Have fun if you can.
June...thanks for the info on the snake deterant.I also have my doubts but it might be worth a try. By my description of the markings, Greg still thinks it is a harmless snake, but I have a big fear of snakes and would just rather it takes up residence somewhere else. They seem to be territorial,so it must go as I wont be happy with it surprising me when I water or (worse) I tread on it.

It is quite cold here for what we are comfortable with.Dont get me wrong though because is a great relief to the very hot summer we had, just a shock to the system.
Thanks for the condolences for my Auntie and resident.
I had better get out from under the warm blanket on the lounge and get some things done.
Have a good day evening all.

Greetings, Fellow Sudokuaholics!

We had a busy day and evening. I should have spent more time cleaning, as D and SIL are coming with their dog tomorrow. We'll have dinner; they are staying overnight before leaving for a few days of R & R. Grandpuppy will stay with us until they get back on Thursday evening. Well, they'll all stay until Friday morning & they return to Chicago.

MizT, so sorry about the meds confusion. I suspect it has happened to most of us at some point. Hopefully, the day improved after you woke up and got the meds straightened out.

Heidi, I hope the ear drops are working and you are feeling better!

Nola, if the choice were mine, I would agree with you on the removal of the snake! I hope all is well!

Still no rain here, temps still higher than usual, and a nice wind, but that adds to the drying of flowers. some are just looking wilted even though well watered. It is how they protect themselves from loosing too much water. That is hard to explain to some residents, they tell me, that plant over there needs water.

I did water all pots again today, all that are in the sun, that is. will check the 4 in shade tomorrow to see if they also need water.

tomorrow an appointment with a chiropractor. trying anything and everything for back pain. Still have not heard from pain clinic about my block. I am becoming more and more upset with how they handle business, or mishandle rather. I should go down there in person again, I suppose.

I had lunch out with Tanya Saturday. Joy was to join us, but of course Tanya was early getting us to restaurant, Joy was late leaving home, and she ran into major traffic, never did make it to lunch. Really bad traffic in same area last 3 Saturdays, not sure what has been the hold up. construction perhaps? surely not 3 accidents on 3 consecutive Saturdays so bad as to make the interstate move at the rate of a snail. I brought home doggie bag, and this pup enjoyed seafood again today hehehe.

I have found something online I want. they call it a spin dryer for clothes, it is really not a dryer, but it does spin out the water from hand laundry. I do not mind hand washing some items, but find it difficult to wring water from them. this small electric appliance will spin them to damp dry, can hang then to dry quickly. Small enough to store in closet when not in use. I should order the thing. Before this heat wave, I would put my box fan in the bathroom over night, blowing on the hand washed clothes, to dry them overnight. It is needed in bedroom now, since very little cool air makes it to bedroom.

Today is the longest day of the year here, for Oz I imagine it will be the shortest? Days will begin to get shorter after today, and it is also the official start of summer.

That's all for now. Hugs to each of you, with extras, till later.

Julie, I hte when I lose a post when trying to send it. Usually those are the best posts, too

I had forgotten just how far it is down to Alabaster. I think it was a 40 minuet drive. We got there on time, though. I like the chiropractor, Perhaps he will be able tohelp me. ATM I am sore from adjustment. He said he was surprised he got enough movement today, since ithad been so long since I had seen a chiro. He thought it was because I was able to relax and let him do the necessary adjustments. Yeo, been there before, know how to relax soit does not hurt. He said I might want to have an extra glass of water when I got home, I told him I brought my bottle of water with me. He said 'you have done this before. Can you tell I am doing this right?' I could hehehe.

there is one of the best BBQ shacks across the street. Take away only, unless you want to sit outside at the one picnic table. We brought out plates home to eat, we each had enough food for again tomorrow. I got half a chicken, and it was a big chicken, might have enough for two more lunches.

That's all for today. I think I shall have another wee nap before dinner. Hugs to each of you, with extras.

Late greetings from me to all of you.

Heidi, are you seeing/hearing improvements with your ears? I hope the drops are helping!

Mizt, that chiropractor sounds good! Reminds me I'm overdue to see mine. I'm not sure if it's because I need an adjustment, or crazy atmospheric pressure & allergies compounding arthritis, but something just isn't right - too many aches lately.

MizT, the BBQ shack sounds wonderful! How nice that you can enjoy it for an extra meal or two!

The time has come to head to bed. Pleasant dreams to all when the time is right for you! Sending healing energy, positive vibes, prayers, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, and !

Just realised, although I have been reading I have not been commenting. Saw Doc yesterday about the X-rays that were done a few weeks ago. back has deteriorated a bit since the last ones four years ago. I will just have to be very careful and not twist at all. X-rays showed that my left knee is in worse shape than my right. That is OK, I have no problem with the left knee. It is my right knee that aches! I am going to get an injection in the right knee about 4 weeks before we go travelling again. I will just use the brace on my back and anti inflammatory tablets for my back. most times it is not aching now.
I went and saw 'Woman in Gold' a few days ago. fantastic movie.
Slowly getting the weeds out of a couple of flower beds. I will soon have the pansies planted.

Good morning all. I know, I said I would be here more often and then get sidetracked. I think of everyone here but see most of you on TOS.

Mitchell has enrolled in his first semester of classes. August 15 is move in and classes start on August 19. Where does time go. It seems like yesterday I was getting him ready for his first day of school, and now it is his first day of college.

My summer is being spent driving Dylan to and from baseball practice. He has made the summer team associated with his high school. Because of his size and strength, they are working with him as a pitcher. So far so good.

My summer has started off crazy. I was involved in a small accident with my van. The damage did not appear too bad but the insurance totaled the van and paid me for it. There was some damage underneath that I could not see. The van was 10 years old and already had damage so it was cheaper to pay off than to fix. I really miss my van. We bought a 2013 Chrysler 200. It is a nice car and I enjoy driving it. I will be taking the older car when school starts. Do not want to keep a nice car in my school parking lot. I don't trust one of my students. I also drive less than hubby and will put less miles on older car.

Tami, so good to see you drop in. I do hope you enjoy your summer away from school. Driving Dylan to and from practice will be enough by itself to keep you busy. I remember those days, not baseball, but always some practice or another with the girls. No injuries from your auto accident? I hope you do enjoy your new car.

June, enjoy your visit with the son and grandies. I hope you have a wonderful day with them. Wearing the back brace sounds like a good idea. It is strange the 'worse' knee via X ray is not the one that hurts. sometimes no rhyme or reason to our aches and pains.

At last, the pain clinic phoned to schedule my block. she was going to give me appointment for JULY. I have been telling them for weeks, this must be done this month, starting July I will have new insurance and a very high deductible for this procedure. Because he is going on vacation, only appointment I could get is tomorrow at 4 pm. Oh well, I do get to eat breakfast, then nothing after 10 am, not as easy as first thing of morning, but I can do it! Back does feel better already from chiro visit, I should be a new woman after the block too.

I was awake early today for some reason, so I got out and did watering of plants before 8 am. Even with early cooler temps, I came in soaked with sweat, the humidity was so very high. Like walking into a wet sponge, yuck. My housecleaning person was coming today, so in for a quick shower and de clutter the place so she could clean. It is nice to have everything clean at one time. she has to phone in when she gets here and again when she finishes. she was 3 minuets late calling in on leaving, and was most upset, mumbling they (her boss?) was gonna be on her case for being over. three minuets?? That seems a bit harsh to me. she has 10 minuets between clients, so she can get from one apartment to another. I am sure she signed in for her next one on time. Her 3 minuets extra time with me today was possibly cause she had to toss her first mop water and start again. She cannot seem to remember she is NOT to use pine sol in my apartment. I noticed the smell before she started cleaning, though.

Hugs to each of you, with extras, till later.

Happy Tuesday to all from here..may you have a great day or night no matter where your sun shines.Things have been a tad busy here recently. I had several different tests done at the lab and one test showed a nodule on my lung. I have been having lots of trouble with extreme shortness of breath, and so this explains the problem to some degree. This type of thing is not thought to be cancer and when caught early, shouldn't present too many problems..I hope this was caught soon enough. I will be watched and retake the cat-scan in 3 months. As if that wasn't enough, Angelique had her first dance recital on Father's Day and afterwards we celebrated with dinner...getting home pretty late. Jazz had a seizure the next day, and in the wee hours of this morning, the girls let to visit with their sister/aunt in North Carolina for the summer. Wheeeee...I'm home alone and after some rest will celebrate my 'me' time. I will miss them, but it will be a good miss...ha ha.
Good to see Tami's post, and to hear that all is well with the family. Best of everything to Mitchel as he meets his new challenges. Glad that the accident was not too serious. Have a fun summer in between driving the taxi service for Dylan. Posting before its lost..will continue.
