Good Morning Folks...HYope this will be a great day for all of us. Tricia, so sorry things are up in the air with the chaos of those charged with helping folks with their medical needs. Tanya has been doing so very well and I can tell how it's affecting you too simply by the post. I do hope it will be sorted out soon.Hope you are able to find help with your project...not much fun to be given an opportunity to change the appearances of something with your hands tied behind your back, or as in this case, the empty pocketbook.
Sending lots of that energy and healing vibes right back to ya Julie to help deal with all of the travel time on the road...but what a great reward getting to spend time with those we love.
There is a cute picture of Suzy's puppy on the other site...Gizmo is so cute..hope you don't miss it. DorA...thanks for the smiles you keep on my face with your post and Heidi, congratulations on your calving season thus far...may it continue.
Off to shower and start my day with thoughts of you all...Satan will have his back to the wall in trying to mess with us. Stay safe and strong folks. Peace.

Opps...as often the case, I didn't realize the comment number. Since I often don't get the first post right, I'll add a topp here that will be a wish for all.
I will take the time to quiet my mind and rest my heart and refresh my soul...May life be a continuous lesson that teaches us well.

Now, as people around the world mark International Women's Day, MailOnline has chosen a selection of the images to show off the courage and bravery of the real life 'Rosie the Riveters'.
Interesting that this article appeared as a UK online article, not from the U.S.

Just tagged a new heifer calf. Then found the heifer calf belonging to a 17 year old cow laying dead with mama protecting it. I don't like losing good calves. Particularly not in warm, dry weather.

Hello to all. Enjoy your peace Heidi - you deserve it. Glad you didn't drive him this time. Sorry about your heifer - hope no more problems. 17 is a fair age to be a mama. Lucky you with the cockatiels - they are really beautiful birds. MizT hope Tanya is o.k. and has her meds sorted out. It is a worry when you don't know how she will feel being off them for a while and the possible time it will take for them to help her when she is back on them. Nice topp Mamacita - how serene and peaceful you are. Wish you ongoing good health. Suzy - please put a photo of Gizmo on this site - I am not a member of TOS and would love to see him. Glad Broni paid you a visit. You are so busy with family it is nice to have an outside visitor. Had bone density scan this a.m. so behind at work, so short and sweet and bye for now.

Hi everyone. I am finding this rather warm weather very tiring and keep having naps. Played bowls on Tuesday and we won. I have been shopping and to meetings and just doing the normal household things.
Suzy, so pleased that Broni payed you a visit. Gizmo is gorgeous.
hope your bone density test is OK Midge.
Julie thanks for the long post. You are such a busy lady.
Sorry about the lot calf Heidi. Enjoy the peace.
Always love hearing from Mamacita and Tricia, even though I may not answer all they have to tell us.
Always enjoy reading what DoA has to say.
Two weeks till we leave for Japan. Lots to do before then. Hugs to you all.

No time to read today, glanced at a few.
Tanya is not doing well, her medication issues still not sresolved, her symptoms returning. I cannot say more, do not have her permission, but would appreciate any healing thoughts, prayers, vibes, whatever it is we at SA do in times of need. I am so angry at our medical system, insurance companies practicing medication, will not authorize a med that is working very well, and replaces, works better than the THREE previous meds. the bean counters have decided bottom line, even if some, like Tanya really cannot function without this medication, and even are forced to go to ER or hospitalization, it is still cheaper because most people CAN function on cheaper, less medication. Numbers matter, $$$$ matter, bottom line matters, people be dammed.
Might add Tricia in those thoughts too,
Getting ready for appointment at pain clinic. Hope they can at least schedule further treatment, to help this back, it is not good last 2 days.
Hugs to all,
Tricia

AAGGGGHHH, must vent and you are handy, still up on my puter screen.
I just phoned pain clinic about MY appointment today, to be sure pain clinic had received referral authorization for my visits, a new requirement for my insurance. IT WAS NOT ON FILE! They would TRY to phone insurance co and get them to fax info, but in meantime I should call them myself. AAGGHHHHH, having to do other people's jobs for them, jump through hoops to get what we need. Insurance told me when I CALLED earlier this week it was approved for 6 visits in 6 months but gave me no authorization, and the letter they say they sent has not arrived. . (does that mean we have to do this same again in 6 months? O MG!!)
OK, I called my insurance, they could not fax the form as requested, it would take pulling a request, going through a process, might not get there in time, bla bla bla. But they could give me authorization number. Now pain clinic had not mentioned that. I got the number anyway and asked they start the fax process just in case.
By some miracle got back to a person at pain clinic (usually calls go to voice mail) the second time in 15 minuets, thanks to whomever facilitated that, and yes, a second phone answer-er told me, they could accept that. A few minuets, I get a call from first person at pain clinic, saying she DID call and got the number (miracle 2 this morning). Did not get the phone hung up till a third person from the insurance called me, saying they needed a request from the doctor to send a fax. Thankfully a fax was not needed, says she at the doc office now, or I would have missed yet another visit. Hoops within hoops. I am so glad I have the ability to still jump
.
thanks for listening, I feel better. Hugs.

For all the teachers & ex.
No 'risk' here...
After retiring, a former Gunnery Sergeant in the Marine Corps took a new job as a high school teacher.
Just before the school year started, he injured his back. He was required to wear a light plaster cast around the upper part of his body. Fortunately, the cast fit under his shirt and wasn't noticeable when he wore his suit coat.
On the first day of class, he found himself assigned to the toughest students in the school. The smart-aleck punks, having already heard the new teacher was a Marine, were ready for him and he knew they would be testing his discipline in the classroom.
Walking confidently into the rowdy classroom, the new teacher opened the window wide and sat down at his desk. When a strong breeze made his tie flap, he picked up a stapler and stapled the tie to his chest.
Dead silence.
The rest of the year went smoothly.

Good job getting a picture of Gizmo on this site Suzy... I know everyone appreciates your effort in doing so.
DOrA...I'd love to hear some of your views of many things, but particularly socialized medicine and our political system. It's good to hear different opinions from those who know that there are many different ways of looking at the same picture and arriving at a different response, without having to be castigated for daring to have an outside thought or two. It does help one to clarify the things they like most if they are willing to hear more than one side of things. Far too many people only want to see or hear their own view stated and are nasty, but I like those who think for themselves and are willing to have a divergent opinion, even if I disagree with them. I might even learn something if I do hear what is said.
BTW...you have struck my funny bone again with your no risk joke. Excellent way to keep unpleasantness at bay.
June, sorry that the weather is affecting you and understand how difficult it is to try to get ready for a trip like this, and want to accomplish things before you must leave...sending good weather vibes to give you a break for the next few days anyway...hope they help.
Miz T...Sorry that you and Tanya must contend with this nonsense and send everything I know to help you gain the strength to deal with the craziness of it all. Happy that the venting helped a bit.

DORA, I love and hate national health. I have private insurance so I can skip the waiting lists, but all of my emergencies have been covered by national health. If we can no longer afford private insurance I will still be able to get everything done, I'll just have to wait. I'm not sure it would cover getting a plastic surgeon to remove the skin cancers on my face though. I'm off for an MRI and a carotid ultrasound today. Because a specialist referred me, the MRI is completely covered and the ultrasound will cost $110, no contribution from my private insurance. If we didn't have national health I wouldn't be getting any of this done. I'd be filling out a DNR and crossing my fingers. Just my opinion, and I'm perfectly fine with you disagreeing. I don't have a problem with people having different opinions, unless they're racists, all bets are off then.

Starting to get my sanity back. Might pour myself a glass of wine soon though. I've been a bit wobbly since my tests. Both the tech and friends I ran into were worried about me.
During the ultrasound my head was walking into the hospital the day dad died. Then the freaking MRI machine was swishing and banging at me and my head was outside Lucky in Stanton looking down at Mark Smith. I kept chanting I'm okay, only to find myself back there. I'm sure the guy thought he woke me up when he pulled me out of the machine, but he really pulled me across 19 years in a second.

I made the mistake of telling hubby that the woman who did the ultrasound acted a bit strange while she was checking the right side of my neck. Instead of wine I decided to help him pick up grass clippings ready for the kids coming over. He went into over protective mode and didn't want me doing physical work until we know the results of the test. I argued that exercise would be good for me and won. I have asked him not to say anything to the girls because they'll worry and we don't actually know if there is anything to worry about. I can worry, but they have enough going on without worrying about something that might be nothing.

Suzy....love the concern of hubby, and agree with your statement of not telling the girls anything until there is either nothing or something known that might worry them or not. Glad you won in the helping area...it's hard to feel one's life is being controlled by things they have no say over...even when well meant. Looking forward to freeing answers if possible. I'm also glad you have good medical insurance...I also have great insurance, but still would need to come up with more money to get things I need like hearing aids and glasses at a reasonable cost. I don't have long waits, though, and am happy about that. I know trade-offs will come with any monetary changes.

Gil just got home. He says it was the worst trip of his life... just the driving part, not the program. Non-stop rain... heavy traffic..... car accidents that shut down traffic for hours at a time.... no sunshine. I wonder if he'll try to find something nice to do for me the next time he needs to travel somewhere. The RV would have made it a pleasant trip, what with kitchen, bathroom and loads of Audiobooks, CDs and DVDs. But I DID have to be here with cattle and birds.

Little Risk here ---
What is Celibacy? Celibacy can be a choice in life, or a condition imposed by circumstances. While attending a Marriage Weekend, Frank and his wife Ann listened to the instructor declare, 'It is essential that husbands and wives know the things that are important to each other.' He then addressed the men. 'Can you name and describe your wife's favorite flower?' Frank leaned over, touched Ann's arm gently, and whispered, 'Gold Medal -All-Purpose, isn't it?' And thus began Frank's life of celibacy. AND YOU THOUGHT I COULDN'T SEND YOU A SMILE TODAY

Interesting day today. Dana and Izzy are both sick. Since the last time I got sick I had a stroke, they don't come over while they're sick. We offered to have Tahli overnight so Dana could have a sort of rest with only one. Only one is easier for us too. When she got here Gizmo jumped all over her so there was lots of laughter and giggling. They all went out the back and blew bubbles and Tahli and gizmo chased each other all over the yard. While hubby was out the back with her Fred was joined in the lounge room by George. I thought it was junior at first but it turned out to be George who is larger. There was a stand off for a while as they checked each other out, then SKINK FIGHT! I stopped them before they hurt each other though. Wish I'd recorded them first.
I was helping hubby move the extra chook run from inside the chook pen and Tahli joined me. She got to see her first animal coupling when a r@ndy rooster went after a hen. Sigh.
Now the puppy and Tahli are running all over the house, lots of giggling.. She'll sleep well tonight.

Suzy, what fun for Tahli and Gizmo. Good to see laughing as well. Hope Dana and Izzy are soon well again.
Hubby has been out all day and now tonight. He has an U/14 baseball league named after him and he had to present the trophies this morning. Then it was lawn bowls and tonight he has taken an elderly friend to the baseball.(the friend, now in his eighties was a top baseballer but now has some dementia after a mild stroke)
I was busy doing some cooking etc while Ken has been out.

Hi guys, hope all is well in your neck of the woods.
Was great catching up with Zusy, we have driven through her town many a time but always on the way to somewhere else. Since we are still camping on the river thought I might as well see how Zusy is going for myself. Know she had some yucky procedures in the near future but she is doing well and has not lost her spunk. Think some of the family are a bit over protective but better than not caring. We had a lovely afternoon at Greenwell Point and the best fish and chips in our travels. Gizmo is a character and definitely a puppy and got lots of oohs and ahhs from everyone. I am a lot happier after seeing Zusy, she is doing well.
Luv and jugs to you all.

The first 4 cockatiel babies have left their nest boxes. One Pearl, One Pearl Pied, One Cinnamon Pearl and
one normal Grey. The rest haven't gotten far enough along in feathering to tell colors yet. All I can tell is that there are no lutinos.
Which is unusual for this bunch. I'm used to 1 out of 4 being lutino.

It's not just my family who are overprotective Broni! I walked up to the ladies I have coffee with and they all looked at me like my arm had fallen off. I saw one of them just after my run in with the MRI machine the day before, I was not really coherent, and she obviously told the others before I got there. Sigh.
I hope MizT gets another computer quickly!
