'My grandmother is in hospital. Looks like the COPD is taking it's toll. She wants everyone to ' have joy in remembering me' and 'I'm cute'. '

Hi, Everyone!

Suzy, thanks for sharing the information about Mamacita! I knew Heidi would want to know. I'm not sure if DOrA is on Facebook, but I think most of the rest of us are.

Kathy from Valrico just posted this on FB.
I am sad to report that our beloved Mamacita passed away this morning. Her son posted a beautiful tribute on her Timeline. I know she will be greatly missed by her many Sudoku Friends all over the world. May she find comfort in being reunited with her husband Sully and rest in peace now. ❤

For those not on FB this is what her son Michael posted.
In an ideal situation, we are born from the consummated love of our parents. Brought into this world- nurtured, loved, protected, taught... well, taught EVERYTHING! Prepared to lead a productive life with character, integrity, compassion, and purpose. When done correctly, at some point, our parents, while never giving up their parenting role, can sit back and enjoy the fruits of their labor... become a fan, a cheerleader, a backstop for all that you do. There is something so special about the love they give- it has no bounds... no limits- it is truly unconditional... it is something that is felt to the very core. When they are gone, this love becomes that invisible wind that propels us along our path. Earlier today, my biggest fan, my Mom, transitioned to her heavenly place. While the pain that I feel is indescribable, so too was the love that she gave. She will be missed by all those whose lives she was able to touch, but for me, I will honor her by striving to be the man that she thought I could be and to lead the life that she prepared me for. Forever and a day, Mom... all of my love!

What a beautiful tribute. Some folks seem to have a way with words, that I will never have...

Rest in Peace, Mamacita. Your work here is done. Your comments, on this page, were, in turn, serious, informational, thought provoking, and fun. You will, truly, be missed...

Yes Suzy, I have done some of that. And if you go back to 4 Feb. it is where she has a wonderful post telling us what she knew was in her future.
I have know for some time that I was pre diabetic. On Monday the sugar was high so I have been given some medication but it is making me feel a bit Yuk. I have to be OK for Japan which is the end of next week!
I hope Heidi is OK. She has not posted for a couple of days.

Hi All,
I have also been waiting for a post from Heidi and Tricia. They would have taken the news of Mama quite hard. Hope they post soon and are OK.
June...Bummer about the probable diabetic diagnosis. The meds are quite good now for controlling it without a huge change of diet. If you can go 3 mths on meds with regular BGLs of under 10, you should keep your drivers licence. QLD anyway.

I haven't posted much, after losing a huge one where I addressed almost everyone, even Mama for her wonderful welcome to Paul and I. So much has happened here and I did not want to burden others with my troubles, so I just stopped posting.
Miss you all, know that I think of you daily, and I hope to get back here when things settle.
You are a great group of caring people, made more so with Mama's unput.

June...Greg was on a med when 1st diagnosed with diabetes and after feeling sick etc, they changed it to another, and he is fine on the new medication. He tolerates Galvumet now, which is the same as Metformin but something else included.

Must go and get dinner. I have 2 night shift's coming up where I am looking after over 80 residents with an RN on call. Quite legal but daunting as I have not done this before, only as a carer. Had to refresh the Fire Panel with a change of leadership. Doubt if that would be an issue but I needed to know the procedure.
Hope to catch up again soon.

More Not risky (Risqué) 'business'...

No one believes seniors . . . everyone thinks they are senile.

An elderly couple was celebrating their sixtieth anniversary.

The couple had married as childhood sweethearts and had moved back to their old neighborhood after they retired.

Holding hands, they walked back to their old school. It was not locked, so they entered and found the old desk they'd shared, where Andy had carved 'I love you, Sally.'

On their way back home a bag of money fell out of an armored car, practically landing at their feet. Sally quickly picked it up and, not sure what to do with it, they took it home. There, she counted the money - fifty thousand dollars!

Andy said, 'We've got to give it back.'

Sally said, 'Finders keepers.' She put the money back in the bag and hid it in their attic.

The next day, two police officers were canvassing the neighborhood looking for the money and knocked on their door. 'Pardon me, did either of you find a bag that fell out of an armored car yesterday?'

Sally said, 'No'.

Andy said, 'She's lying. She hid it up in the attic.'

Sally said, 'Don't believe him, he's getting senile.'

The agents turned to Andy and began to question him. One said: 'Tell us the story from the beginning.'

Andy said, 'Well, when Sally and I were walking home from school yesterday ...'

The first police officer turned to his partner and said, 'We're outta here!'

Happy St Pat's Day to those on the 'other side' (of the int'l date line).

AN IRISH BLESSING

May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
the rains fall soft upon your fields and,
until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of his hand.

Cow in labor with a breach birth. So far everything is going OK. It'll just take longer, and there is a slight risk of the calf suffocating. But if we try to catch the cow to hurry it up by pulling the calf, we can stress the cow more. We only interfere if the cow can't do the job.

Ended up getting the cow up into the barn and pulling the calf. I'm glad we did. He's doing OK now. So is mom. Such a big bull calf that he couldn't have been born live without assistance. This cow is 16 years old.

Pleased the calf is OK Heidi. We generally pulled the beach calves. Our cows were dairy and used to being handled.
We have had some rain. Good for the garden.

Morning all, hubby is not on any meds for his diabetes. If it gets high he does some exercise and it brings it down. We went completely overboard on our anniversary. So much so that I ended up with a nasty tummy ache. All good today though.
