Well Hazel, I haven't heard your voice before, but it is nice to hear it! A belated welcome to your own special page, and I'll leave you my traditional page warming gift, a double chocolate fudge beavertail pastry from Ottawa. Enjoy!

Hi, Hazel. Just spent the afternoon at Barnes & Noble speed reading through 15-20 books on website design and ecommerce, so your post of today made me curious -- what are you selling, if I may ask?

I'm working on a yerba mate distribution business. Then I have home school curriculum and a Christian children's concept book (non-fiction picture book) and family school year devotional I want to publish.

Hello Hazel - Welcome to Sudokuland! I have 2 sons with birthdays within the week. One is today, he is 21 and the other one is next Friday he will be 24. The one next Friday lives away and is coming home this week-end. He doesn't care for cake and always asks for Pie! This year he has asked for Lemon Pie. If you get time, I would be interested in your crust recipe. It sounds like it would be delicious. I make a lot of Rhubarb Pies in the spring. I have a recipe handed down by my husband's aunt and it is delicious. (It is in Jane/St. Simon's cookbook.) Thank you for stopping by! I appreciate it. I hope you enjoy this site as much as I do!

Dear Hazel - Thank you, so much, for the speedy reply! I printed your reply and I will use it tomorrow when I make his pie. It look delicious. "Icebox" is a term, I believe, that has been "handed down." My husband refers to our fridge as an icebox. I assume his mother always referred to it as an icebox. (It probably was an icebox while she was growing up!) Some things are hard to change! Thanks again, Hazel, for taking the time to send this recipe to me. I appreciate it! Have a great day.

Hello Hazel - I made my pie this morning and I was surprised at how easy the pie crust was. It rolled out nice too! Thank you, so much, for the recipe. I plan on passing it to my children.

Hi Hazel! Just had a peek at your page - I'm glad to hear that Justin's operation went well. Hope he continues to improve and live a normal life. It's amazing what medical science can do nowadays! Good luck to him and all the best to you too. :)

Love Choke cherry jam, but as I remember it makes better jelly. Remember to send a jar to my page.

The last time I made Chock cherry jelly was when my first husband and I spent a summer in Colorado with his parents. We picked and made jelly. As I remember all we added was enough sugar to make to taste right. No recipe. That was before I got pregnant with my first who is now 59 years old.

Thanks for the link on Texan missions. It was a nice webpage with photos and some really interesting facts about each. I loved the fact that all except the Alamo remain as working parishes -- and re our earlier discussion, I also liked the further reminder that at one point in history the church was motivated to help people make a free-market livlihood for themselves. I am a committed Christian, but I have a difficulty with ministers asking for money all the time instead of trying to figure out how to use the skills that God gives us all to be truly productive, making things that forge and enhance society and provide material wealth and abundance. In the middle ages and renaissance Christianity led the way, but has largely surrendered it now. Okay, I've aired my pet peeve -- down off the soap box for now. Thanks again for the link! You know I love' em.

Hazel, I just got done with a week of NRFU VDC. The training books say it's supposed to be an August operation, don't know why we did it in July. Also, I got the impression we only got 1/3 of the EQs they originally planned for the operation(?), so I'm thinking we just did a sample job to measure NRFU margin of error so they can better plan NRFU VDC cases nationwide? It's just a guess.

Best wishes for your mother. It's always hopeful and happy when people get to go home from a nursing home.
