Hi Anne,

I don't get by as often as I might like - being retired can be busy stuff.

I did get to see the Simpsons Movie last weekend - he is my hero. He loves his family, he usually tries to do the right thing (in the end), and he knows that when you get to a certain age you should stop learning new things because your brain is full and it will mean some old stuff has to go to make way for the new stuff. Problem is you can't control which bits of old stuff go and they may be important!

mAen all for now.

How are all the family getting on in New Zealand, well I hope, you must miss them terribly.
Have you finished all your decoration now, no more huge ladders to climb I hope.
Take care xx

Hi Anne,
very much for the wine, how did you know I was fancying some? Having looked at your photos I see you are much travelled and take wonderful pictures yourself. Some of the sunsets/rises from your home are beautiful.
If you travel from London on the train to Cambridge you will definitely go through Stevenage. I wonder where in Stevenage your Brother in law lives, it would be strange if Richard or I knew him (Richard has lived here most of his life). Please accept a vase of roses from my front garden.

Hello Anne,
Afraid I'm really bad at checking my page out - no, Imogen hasn't gone yet - early Sept is the time. For the last couple of months she has been moving all her stuff gradually back from Melb, so we're in a state of flux at the moment. When she leaves I've to look after her cat until she comes back which should be interesting, as we have a rather spoilt BC (inherited) which tends to run backward and a cranky 17yo cat. She's got her visa for cuba and also has plans to visit Belize and the Caymans (for the Scuba diving) and will be spending Xmas on Machu Pichu, and will be back in Aus hopefully Jan or Feb (when her money runs out)Are you completely refurbishing your house? Every time I see one of your comments you seem to be doing something along that line. I should think you could turn your hand to most things by now! (Im hasn't bought her camera yet, but is thinking of a Panasonic (middle of the range price)) Have been busy trying to finish the 2nd draft of a book and am into compiling crosswords at the moment (cryptic). Good to hear from you, Anne, and will let you know when she finally decides on a camera. All the best, Gillian

Thank you for dropping by and your birthday wishes. I had a great day and with my husband home for the week I haven't had a lot of time to get on the computer. We are having two days away at the end of the week. I didn't know you could get Nillson on CD. Good price and I am glad you enjoyed listening to the youtube.

Anne,
for your birthday wishes for James. I will pass them on later when I phone him. He was still asleep when I left for work this morning. The rain has prevented him from working today - what a shame on his birthday We are having a family dinner to celebrate tonight.

Hi Anne. Sorry to hear about the hibiscus tree attack. I noted with interest that it has been suggested that you wear protective eye wear in future. Blow that for a joke - get one of the men in your life to do the pruning for you!! Hope the eye heals up quickly for you.

Thank you for the Birthday Wishes last week. I had dinner with Mom that evening. She then flew up to Portland, OR for a Class Reunion (68th) and flew back for the wedding on Saturday of her only grand-nephew (my cousin’s son – 41, first marriage). Mom (85) refused to take a nap after getting up at 3 am for the flight back and insisted on driving (through Los Angeles to Orange County) for the wedding – she still drives fast. By the time we got to there we were not speaking & the drive back was even worse – getting home around midnight. The wedding & reception was wonderful (so was the beach party the night before, which Mom had missed). Dad always said the reason we fight, was because we are so much alike – both strong willed women. But, we will always love each other. I left Tuesday, had a meeting in No. Calif. Wednesday afternoon, and decided to camp at Burney Falls State Park – making my dog happy, before returning home. The back is still bothering me – but no violent pains – more of the gnawing variety and when standing up after sitting too long (so there were a lot of stops on the way down and on the way home). Thanks for the good wishes – I’m safe if not sound.

hi Anne thanks for your concern and msg in my page..right now I have no problem..(thats what I hope!)but whatever has happened is quite painful..well I shall no more consider the death toll as just numbers, for more than 50%of the dead are students from an engineering college, who have come to the place on a trip, age ranging 18-19..that made me really sad..anyway,we can do nothing abt it now..will get back to normal soon..no probs..
cheers

You are right about my photo of the lunar eclipse, it was August 28, not April. Now that I am retired and living in tropical Florida, guess I've lost track of the seasons!

Being an asthmatic myself with many hospital stays under my belt, I was very concerned when I read about Johnathon. It is good that they have put him onto what I presume is a preventer puffer. Hopefully that will be enough medication to keep it under control. Often it is a new environment that will bring it on. I was born and raised in Sth Aus but when I was 14, Mum and I went to Sydney to visit my oldest sister and BAM! Out of nowhere I end up with it. Luck of the draw, I suppose!
My thoughts to you, him and his family.

Hey Anne, Are you interested in a very nice photo of one of those birds which shall remain nameless. I'll send it to you privately anyway. It's up to you whether you use it or not. I'm just starting to have a bit of a cull/cleanup of house/computer/life.

Anne, Me again. Sorry, I can't get a photo into the "Send a Private Message" box. I should have thought of that before. The only way I can think of is for you to send me (privately) your personal email address, unless you know of another way. Don't worry about it for now. I don't want to jeopardise anyone's anonymity.
