I come bearing a napkin for the drool on your keyboard! It was a fun experience. Words can't describe it. There was so much "fun" food there is was unreal! My son, Scott, is 28 and married and we don't get to spend much time together, so it was a great afternoon. (He is a Chef.) Thanks for your visit. I will have to check out Papa Joe's web site too. (Then I will need a napkin!) Have a great day/evening.

Hi Gail! Thanks so much for the compliment on the butterfly - it's a Malachite butterfly. My husband took that pic probably a year ago. I couldn't upload it as we took it, the website requires very very small pics. Here's my husband's blog, he has a number of his pics posted there: http://blog.myspace.com/ansky23456.

Feel free to send him a note if you'd like a jpg of the original pic of the butterfly!

Thanks-Terri

Terri, will leave a msg on easy as well. Thank you for leaving the blog details. Unfortunately, what I got wasn't of butterflies, but of architecture, which was fascinating anyway!

Thanks for your welcome Gail. I'm a real slacker as I haven't logged on to Sudoku in ages. I started a new job a wee while ago, and it involves quite a lot of travelling and staying away from home. At the end of the day I'm usually too knackered to even look at a computer!! I will try and be better at loggin in, and seeing what the news is.

I've just gone in to Wikipaedia and looked up Cockatoo, because I confess that I didn't know where it was. It looks like you're far enough out of Melbourne to enjoy the "rural" life, but close enough to enjoy the city if you want to. That sounds pretty idyllic to me!!

Take care

Elizabeth :-)

Hi Gail, glad you enjoyed the Gamelan performance. I'm feeling very lazy tonight - the prospect of 2 weeks of holidays and not having to rush to do anything I think. I was surprised at how easy it was to put the Youtube on my page, I haven't been able to work out the Flickr yet, I keep getting a message that I must have the pics in a private area, but when I go back to the pics it says they are for public viewing. My husband (his name's Bill, so I'll just say that in future, "my husband" sounds so formal) hasn't been able to find somewhere that will have the GF in Las Vegas, someone thought that he might be able to get it as a pay per view if the hotel he's in has the correct cable (for a mere US$35). In case he can't, he's asked me to message him with the result, even though it will be about 2am there. Says he'll drown his sorrows at a bar if they lose (and no doubt celebrate at a bar if they win).

Fingers crossed that they can do it, cheers for now.

Gail. thanks for stopping by my place and for the goodies - especially the bubbly! Now I could use a cup of tea. I've brought along a plate of home make Mexican wedding cookies, using only Texas native pecans.

Soon I'll have my place furnished and decorated, and can return the invitation!

Thanks for your commiserations Gail. My son sounded pretty deflated, however Bill was quite OK with it, had only just got to bed when I messaged him, so methinks he's having far too much fun.

Hi Gail, I'm finaly getting around to thanking you for your visit way back in June/July. Sometimes the world goes a bit crazy [have you noticed?] and its hard not to end up off the planet. I think at times I'd like to join Dr Who and go back in time and try again. Now for a contradiction in intentions - I'm going to try to get around a bit more and fix up my page and somehow or other reduce the amount of time I spend here in front of this little screen! Possible? Remains to be seen.

Gail. Received your message - what are you still doing on line? I've hung the washing out at least - its about all I've done!! [it was a ploy to get it to rain - the garden is looking dry and it is now raining] Real vs virtual sounds like a good idea - still haven't made that blessed cake yet so I'd better get off this wretched computer. Thanks for the cake Gail. Would you believe I have finally made a cake [look at the time]- I'll fill it with strawberries and cream tomorrow before we take it over to grandma's [always worth a visit on birthday's]. I'd try to save you a piece but we all like cake toooo much- too hell with cholesterol and calories on birthdays!

Hello Gail - I had a lovely morning tea/brunch with Mary and a good old chat. It's lovely catching up with people from the site when they visit Albany. She's had lovely weather while here although I think there was one brief shower of rain yesterday.

Actually it's a boxed mix by Ghirardelli. It makes the best brownie I've ever had...it has 3 types of chocolate chips. MMMMM good!
Have you seen that in AU?

Gail, Thanks for the message. I'm still here, but not commenting as much. Retail is working my a&& off..literally. I have lost 8# so far. Family is good. Grandboy is growing by leaps and bounds. I haven't seen him since my birthday, and boys don't talk to their Moms as often as girls do, so no news in a while.

Hi Gail, Thanks for the visit and asking how I was going. Much better. The fallout over his (my Grandad's) will is beginning but thankfully does not involve me one bit. The other day I noticed that the King's Park Road roses were nearly at blooming height again and it just made me think, because he and I shared a real love of plants and were both pretty amazed at growth. We listened to a radio programme years ago where they told you that the rule of thumb for roses is 52 days from prune to bloom. I always remember that when I see roses now. But the roses also reminded me of the shortness of life and how much had gone on - watching the sickness, hospital visits and then death and funeral with so much intricacy and it was just - gone - and the roses were ready to bloom again.
I hope all's going well with you and I hope the above isn't too depressing (it's not meant to be but I read it over and it seems a bit maudlin). If you are a gardner at heart I think there is just a teensy bit of ruthlessness in you!

Hi Gail, That was nice..getting a message from you out of the blue like that. You were very smart to find my gallery so early as I only started to tackle it yesterday. It took me ages because the first few photos I uploaded were huge and took forever to display. I think I've got the hang of it now though. I think it's wonderful that we have this way of showing other SAs our lifestyle and where we live. Wonder if I'll have the guts to put one of ME up ??? We'll see.....

Gail, I had to move you near the top of my thank-you list. Your message of condolence touched my heart and made me weep, not so much out of sadness, but with a true sense of awe at how fervently you reached out to me. I always made sure that Mom knew that Gail from Australia was wishing her the best and she would say, "You're kidding. From all the way over there?" It's a beautiful day here and I know Mom would be in her garden,or doing a crossword puzzle on the porch. Now she can admire all from above and perhaps is even giving some of her friends from near and far a comforting pat on the back. I know she'd be grateful for how you've cheered her daughter. Thanks so much, and the bear hug I'm sending you should arrive by the time you wake up tomorrow.

The bride has been known to be three or four hours late to anything. She and her siblings blame me for always pushing them when they were little. Nice wedding tho outdoors with my son doing the legal parts. He always wanted to just sign the papers and then file them without haveing to say anything, but he did a good job.

Gail, there are so many different personalities that post on this site, and NO ONE (except maybe Ian/Boston) wants to step on someone's toes. My opening the page was an attempt to massage people with the fact that there was overkill going on. It was NOT meant to be a diatribe. It was simply an attempt to bring the concerns of MANY others (aside from myself) to the attention of people who were going over-board. How would you have handled stepping on people's egos? Please feel free to delete this comment if you wish. I AM NOT A BOAT ROCKER. I enjoy the site, the fun and the sillyness as much as anyone else, but some self-control by people is needed.

Hi again; your info on chocolate float cakes and Mudd cakes made me so hungry! But I decided if I followed through and checked the websites, I'd be cooking instead of homeschooling. But I'm still tempted to do so when I get a break... then I could make both! Pumpkin pies are traditional here for Thanksgiving, but we do have Christmas goodies to look forward to. I have used recipes to help teach fractions, but the girls already know them. Oh well, I hope you enjoy your day!

My children never show up o time. If you want them at 2pm, tell them 10am. They think yo said an hour earler then you wanted them and they are still several hours late. The only time Celeste came on time, was when we went on a cruise to Mexico.

Hi, Gail!
Thank you for your nice concerned message. It feels so good when somebody cares about you.
So for delay with the posting. I'd been out of internet connection for almost a week that crippled me even more. Because then I feel limited not only in physical traveling, but in virtual too.
