Hello Gail - glad to see that at least one person read my joke. I thought it was quite funny too. It took me ages to post it with the problems on the site last night.
Cheers

Thank you for the heads up about Ian being away. I have been sitting here the past 20 minutes pondering what could be done in light of his request that nothing be done and I think I have it.

What if everyone, and I mean everyone, left note stuck, tacked, taped or tucked onto his front door expressing condolences to his last serviving (from the last party) philodendron, that nobody will be there to keep it company while Ian is away. Single philodendrons become desponded and even suicidal when left alone for extended periods of time. It should be our civic duty to do anything we can to save its life.

Hello Gail - thanks for your concern about Johnathan. Amanda took him to the doctors and they put him on the nebuliser (excuse spelling) and then were given a prescription for an inhaler to use daily. I've only just got off the 'phone with Amanda and she said he is alright now. That's three times they've taken him to the doctor or hospital with asthma since moving to New Zealand six months ago. Perhaps with the warmer weather coming he might improve.
Cheers
Anne

Gail - I'm a mild asthmatic myself but only for the past 10 or 11 years and it's been really good now for about 2 yrs.I use daily medication to keep it at bay. Johnathan's father is an asthmatic too.
My son is also an asthmatic and has been since about 5yo but he's not too bad until he comes to Albany to visit.
It seems to be getting worse these days.

Gail, thanks for stopping by my page to wish us a safe journey. We had a wonderful trip and were so lucky to meet June and her husband who so generously showed us parts of the Sydney area we would have never seen if it hadn't been for them. Once I'm back on my feet (so to speak) here at home, I'll organize some pictures of our trip to share.

Thanks for your welcome Gail, I have a son who lives in Melbourne, so we try to get there from time to time too, although he visits us several times a year. Whereabouts in South Oz are you from - you know how it's such a small place, everyone knows someone who knows someone you know.

Yes, I do know Mylor, we're in the foothills (Aberfoyle Park, next to Flagstaff Hill). Love it around Aldgate, very pretty albeit cold and damp in the winter. Imagine that, we were almost neighbours!!

thank you for the good thoughts for dad and the rest of the sickies.
dad is doing really well and just a couple more minor tests and if they are clear then just monitor him closely for a while.
the rest of them seem to have finally got rid of the virus so hope it stays that way.
hope you are all well
cheers

Hello Gail - thanks for your comments on my photos. The weather was lovely with just a bit of cloud hanging about but I managed to get the photo of Bluff Knoll when there was a small break in the cloud above it. When you consider the day before we had gale force winds, worse we've had for a long time, and squally rain, Sunday was lovely and quite warm. I took my sister and two friends and I made the picnic lunch, with a bottle of wine and nibblies to start, of course, and we had a fabulous time.

, Gail! It was good to hear from you again, especially for my birthday. I wonder if your chocolate mud cake is like our chocolate float cake? It's great to have a birthday on a weekend when there is more time for family and celebrations. And the weather was perfect. I hope your winter is winding down, but you probably don't face the blizzards that befall us. We just need to move to Australia for our winter months and solve the problem! Dreams...

Hi Gail,
Thanks for stopping by and your concern for Nick. He is a whole lot better now. Luckily for me it was a weekend and Jack (also an asthmatic) was home to help care for Nick. Like any typical mom, I tend to over react when my baby has a hard time breathing. Jack tends to have a cooler head and more experience with these things. Thank goodness for good drugs!

Gail, you asked how I like the Aussies. I liked them so very much. I was constantly impressed with how good humored and friendly you all are. My favorite part about Australia was the people.

Hi honey, not sure if my husband will be able to see the game - I'm taping it for him - it's the responsible wifely thing to do!! The sad part about the AFL finishing is that the cricket starts. I don't mind a little bit of cricket - but it seems to go on a little too long for my liking. Of course the other awful thing is that it means the "C" word is creeping up again!! Talk to you soon, sleep tight.

WOW, I managed to get an avatar on too, I'm progressing. That was quick, they said it would be a day or so, I only submitted it an hour ago!! On that point, you seem to change yours quite regularly, where do you get them from. Most of my pics are too large to send, and even compressing them doesn't make them small enough. (This one is that lovely picture of Gunung Inerie at sunset that I just love)
