Thanks Ian - Shame about the fishing hut, I bet it would have been a great place to be from time to time. I've been through parts of that area - simply stunning.

BTW I saw you old squadron insignia on an aircraft on the news the other day - I remembered it from your avatar.

Hello Ian - sorry it's taken me so long to get in touch since my week away. I had a wonderful time in Wickham but I always seem to come home a bit tired so I've taken it easy this week except for work. No badminton or extra walking and no socialising. I don't know if it's been good for me or not.
I've added some more photos taken around Wickham to my flickr page. I seem to see something different every visit which I have to photograph.
I hope you and Anne are both keeping well.
Cheers

Hello Ian, I am glad you enjoyed your trip to Woolloongoong. It is indeed a very beautiful place! Although sometimes the train becomes a little tedious.
Where did you have lunch??
We took my husband's aunt to a restuarant called Cliffhanger, at Bulli lookout, for lunch on her 89th birthday in April, which was spectacular, but there are 2 or 3 others on the 'scarp with equally wonderful views.
Did you get to walk the bridge? Does Anne go with you on these excursions? Did you notice the enormous 'stack' to the south? You can see it from almost all the coast. We live a couple of blocks from it and are practically surrounded by water, including the lake behind us, and ocean on 3 sides. I look forward to seeing you new pics!!

Hi Ian. Thought I'd pop in and say hello as it has been a while. How is everything with you and Anne? You are becoming a true artist with the camera. Your latest additions to your page are just super. Again, thank you for sharing!

Hi Ian, thanks for your comments about my photos. I was 'up-the-River' over the weekend so have only just got your message! I've been taking pictures since my parents gave me a Kodac Instamatic (one of the cartridge type that took small square photos) for my 19th birthday. That was all I had till the late 80's! My husband gave me a digital for my 50th in 2002 which is also when we bought the place at Bar Pt. Since then I've been taking more pictures of places & less of family & friends! So I'm still learning. When you get the mail boat later in the year it goes straight past our place! I havea taken few pictures of it over the last 5 yrs! If you want to let me know closer to the time, I'll hang a sign out saying hello if we're there & you don't mind!

Sorry for not replying to your last comment when I saw it yesterday, but was a bit busy with chores! I tried to get back to the sudoku site later but couldn't get on. After trying on & off for about an hour I gave up. After that I was too busy again! Thanks again for your support & helpful advice. As to some of the things from the first comment that I didn't reply to originaly - YES broadband IS great! And Ive done some of your bird pictures when they've been puzzles as well as seen them on Flickr. I've never waterskied! but like watching especially when I get a free show like those two guys gave me (I took lots of pictures! It was a dull overcast day though!) I'll wait to here from you about your photo tour of the Hawkesbury & look forward to seeing the pictures when you put them up! While I was trying to get onto Sudoku yesterday, I visited the 'Peterhof' site you mentioned quite a while ago when one of the puzzles was on Jigsaw. I wrote it down but hadn't been to it. It was great, Thanks!

Hi Ian, figured it was about time I dropped you a line. I've been enjoying your photos on the Jigsaw site for a while now, especially the Richmond ones because I live in North Richmond and it's great to see some of our beautiful buildings etc shown to a wider audience, nobody ever seems to know where Richmond is (except that its the dot on the Sydney weather map that is hottest in summer and coldest in winter)

Fabulous bottle brush, Ian! Thanks for the note to me about the picture. When i read it I thought it might have been one of the others I've submitted! I think they've been lost because Gath said he'd run out of new ones! I've put up about 16! Should I re-submit, or is there someway of seeing where they are? I checked the gallery yesterday, but only has one's that have been used. I couldn't find the green rose there though & it's the only other picture that's been on the puzzles! Sorry for being so long winded!!

Very fine observation today. I recall a time when some lady skidded in a parking lot and whacked my car. No one was hurt, but she was distraught. I said, ''Look, lady, it's a piece of metal. It doesn't bleed, it doesn't experience pain, you can't even hurt its feelings. Relax.''

Thanks for your concern, Ian. We were sensible & decided not to go up. The Hawkesbury is roaring. The tides are low at the moment but the water is as high or higher than the peak king tides! Our neighbour up there has been keeping us informed (by mobile when the phone went off!). One other neighbour's boat was sunk another ended up on the rocks outside our place. Her husband is in the UK with a boat for the Fastnet race, so our immediate neighbour (who's been keeping us informed) became her 'Sir Knight in Shining Raincoat' & got it off the rocks & back tied up at her place. He's 72&1/2. His wife was watching & thought he was going to be pulled into the water, so she stripped to her undies as well & donned her raincoat, but he managed by himself. He got back home & noticed our canoe had been knocked off its shelf so then he retrieved it! There's no power at the moment but everyone we know up there is safe & still have their homes. Some of them have collected pumpkins floating down from Windsor!! The river is muddy & dangerous because of all the trees & rubbish (& pumpkins!) being washed into it. We have friends in Maitland & the Hunter (as a lot of others do) & it's a lot worse up there! It's not much good for the farmers whose produce is being washed away & the others who'd just planted because they'd had some rain!

Hi Ian, I'm now repling to your earlier comment of 8th June at about 5.15pm, I missed it because I saw the later one so didn't think to look back any further!! Thanks for your advice & that's what I should do, but I think Gath gets a lot of flack from a lot of people so I'll think about it or maybe submit some more photos & see what happens......then maybe I'll re-submit the others. I've been doing the archives & there are actually lots of great pictures that haven't got to be jigsaws. I think he maybe a little swamped, ie the whole thing has exploded. I live with computer people!!

Hello Ian, and yes we have just been on holidays, or rather a loong weekend!! We fought our way up to Coffs Harbour on Friday through the most heavey rain that I have ever seen, 20 kms an hour for almost 2 hours on the F3. arriving at 7.45 rather than the 3.00 that we had estimated!! But we had a wonderful visit with our daughter, Bethany, the blonde, and her partner Josh. Their new place at Emerald Beach is lovely, with what I would call 'beach glimpses' rather than 'beach views', and kangaroos running, or rather jumping around on the headland!!
We also took a day trip to Dorrigo via the Waterfall Way, and did the rainforest walk which was very beautiful.
Anyway, arrived home about 2 hours ago and haven't started to unpack, so will look at your pics tomorrow, which I also have off, to decide whether you need chastising for 'breach of privacy'!!

What a great song you put on Ian! I really enjoyed it. As to yhe posts on my page, the number dosen't matter to me, only the interaction with all the people on the site. I've met some nice folks, you included, and only wish we could all meet face-to-face and enjoy each others company in person, even for a few minutes. Take care and stay smiling/healthy!

Hello Ian, and I loved your pics, especially the ones of the Seacliff Bridge!! Don't think anybody will be able to pinpoint us from your shot, and the coast does look beautiful!! BTW the chimney, which we call 'the stack', is part of a disused copper smelter, and was at the time the tallest in the Southern Hemisphere.

I'm glad your brother is fine, although Lake Macquarie is not the place I would have picked for a holiday right now! It was still raining off and on around there when we came thru yesterday. Dan has a cousin who lives on the waterfront at Dora Creek, which is on the lake, so we are keeping our fingers crossed for her.

I must go and hang out some washing, and then sit in the sun, by the pool, to dry my hair. Back to the 'big smoke' tomorrow!! but only for 2 days. Hope you are well and your 'things to do' are not medical ones.

Hi Ian, have you gone to Lake Macquarie? We didn't go to the river. Just as well because there's been another blackout & the weather's as bad if not worse than last weekend! I feel really sorry for your brother, not only does have to live with the recalcitrant Melbourne weather but unluckily for him he comes to Sydney for the worst weather we've had for a long time! For heaven sake, we're in the middle of a drought, & even ion the 'old days' it didn't rain in June! It did get incredibly cold (for Sydney) but the rain came later!

Welcome home, Ian. I hope the return trip down the expressway wasn't too busy. Sunday's traffic is often heavy but it's worse in bad weather. 'My' pelicans are mostly photographed at the boat ramp. If they come anywhere nearer it's usually over near Milson Island & even with my x12zoom they're still pretty small! home.

you need to just right click on the image and save it as Ian in your pictures. Once it has been saved, just go to your update details page and submit it to Gath in the smilies section.
If you need anything else, let me know. Also I have set up a 'Members Features Information page' up on clips. Check it out and just ask if you need anything else. Happy to help create some more images for you.

Sheila/Malabar, thank you for your comments. I try to keep the photos interesting. As for travel to foreign places, I have been fortunate in that I have travelled a fair bit, but not always with a camera in my hand. We have to go to UK later in the year to attend my Mother-in-Law's funeral. We will be going via Hong Kong and returning via Amsterdam and Frankfurt. I do hope I can bring home some decent photos to share around.
