Welcome All!

Thank you for visiting my page.

Paul and I recently married in Fiji at the Shangri-La (the Fijian). This was the first time that I had been back to Fiji since leaving when I was 4. It was even more amazing to realise that we used to holiday around the bay from the resort!

I am gradually getting the photos up on Flickr but it might end up being faster if you want to see more photos if you go to http://gallery.mac.com/rosepaul which is our personal webpage for our photos.

Christmas photos are up on Flickr!

Merry Christmas 08

Hi Rose, thanks for the invite on your ark, at the moment we are o.k. lots of trees down etc but not at risk of flooding. Our biggest fear, being on a sort of point at the oceans edge, is floating off to New Zealand. lol. We dont/haven't had water restrictions here so I hope the rain is filling dams and rivers etc inland. It is great to see the rain but enough already! for us here anyway.

Rose that is an absolutely gorgeous photo of your beautiful Veronica Maeve, at that age they are so precious and they are still yours, wonderfull!! My Son #1 has just joined the Army (today is day #20 at basic training - Kapooka) and Son #2 turned 18 on 4th June. They grow up so fast, take lots of pics and videos every year even when they are old enough to say 'oh mum its embarrassing'.

Dear Rose, she is so beautiful. What a lovely family! I bet everyone is wrapped around little Veronica's tiny finger. Years down the line, she's going to surprise everyone, she got just an intense expression that you know she's going to be someone very important.

Oh Rose, Have only just been able to catch up on today's posts and saw yours on easy. I know words are cheap but here goes anyway. Just try to cherish her for now and be grateful that she lives and breathes. She is most certainly a precious little bud just waiting for her time to bloom.

So sorry to hear about little VB. I understand and feel your pain, there is nothing more painful than to see your little darling unwell, Cooing and saying it will be alright seems never to be enough, yet sometimes that is all us mothers can do. Coo, cuddle, laugh and cry all you can as just being there is sometimes all they need, the love that comes with those emotions are better than anything else. Remember to try and take care of yourself, hang in there.
Sending you all many hugs and kisses

Rose I just came from seeing your Christmas pictures. Your children are gorgeous.
I was assuming that VB would very tiny. But she is a big girl and sitting up. Now the picture you have above she looks so tiny.
I need a translation from your kg to pounds and ounces. My grade point average would be a 4.0 if I did not have to take math.

I have not been sick in years (knock on wood). Now I feel I cannot be sick, because I cannot see my husband taking all day care of the girl.

Good Morning Rose or in your case Good Evening,
You are sounding better.
I hope Paul has made it home now. I am bring you a get better gift. It is basil and lemon balm mint. Take a couple of sprigs of the basil and place them under you pillow to help you sleep and a sprig of lemon balm and make a hot cup of tea to soothe the aching body.
My husband says I am crazy to do this, but when I am feeling down, I really believe it works. I am also a big fan of taking vitamins. I am teased about the 9 supplements I take daily, but I point out to them that I have not been sick in years. Last year I learned that I take everything that is in prenatal vitamins with the exception of iron. And my supply has a little bit more miligrams.
Anyway, today is a good day. My childhood friend's daughter is returning. She desserted me for 3 weeks! She comes over during the day while her mom is at work and plays with Girlie-girl, which gives me time to be on the computer and allows me to take a good uninterrupted nap. I could feel guilty about using her, but if she did not come over to my house, she says she would just be laying around the house watching television. She likes to go fishing so every once in a while Man takes her out the boat across our tank.
Well I am going to let you rest and talk with you later.
bye

Rose, our oldest niece was the same. She stayed tiny for the longest time. Then one day she began putting on weight. Maybe once Veronica is over the bug, she'll surprise everyone. Take care.

Hi Rose! Both of my sons were different pregnancy experience. Older one was 3 weeks early and weighed 7 pounds, the younger one a day late and so big (10lb) I had an emergency ceasarian. One very contented , the other colicky. But now in adulthood so alike physically in height and weight, so like their father. Did I have anything to do with them genetically? So even though Veronica is little, she'll come through just fine. She has an early start on beauty and sweetness. You're the reason for that. You're doing fine and so she is also! Quit worrying and enjoy her for the joy she is!

Nancy that is wonderful that you were able to get some blood work done on VB.
I have told my husband about what I knew about you and showed him your pictures. He has asked me nearly everyday how you and the baby are doing.
I do hope everything is going well and I will keep you and your family in my thoughts.

Hi Rose, just looking in on you and the tribe. Hope you are all holding up.
Brought you a bottle of bubbly, a plate of nibblies and an invitation to pop into my page if you ever get the time. If the weather is nice, take a stroll around the garden, find a seat in the sun and meet my family. Hope to see you there.

Dear Rose,
I was so delighted to learn that Veronica is doing fine. She will grow to be a beauty, just look at her parents. The world will have no chance but to adore her! My younger son who was always on the large size until high school now has a son who is a bit on the small size 49 percentile in weight for his age. Oh well. Post more pictures of Veronica. I feel like I ought to be an honorary grandma to be able to spoil her and to oooh and aaah over her stages of development.

So glad to know that you have received good news from the first blood test results, and that little VB is now on solids. I recall a time when my little Emily wasn’t gaining much weight as fast as her sister was, and was starting to worry about her, however, things changed dramatically when we started them on solids, Emily gained weight so fast it was amazing. Perhaps VB might be the same as Emily and just needs that little extra. Keeping you in my thoughts and hope the next results are even better than the first.

forgot to add that yep those four girls are all mine, Chantel and Rebecca are now 16, and turn 17 in December. Monica and Emily turned 13 this year in May. Two sets of twin girls, 4 totally different personalities and looks, however 4 Teenagers now. Eeeks. I don’t know what is worse having 4 under the age of 3 ½ or 4 hormonal teenagers. Emily loves her ballet, she does 10 hours a week plus 45mins of private lessons, we decided not to enter anymore competitions this year, as the teacher has now put her on ballet pointes and wants her to learn new routines for comps wearing her pointes. Wish Ariane's group the best of luck for me, wish I could be there, I love Bollywood music and dancing. Might have to suggest it to our Ballet teacher.

Hey Rose - I am not sure if if any of us feel we have parented effectively when our children behave in a way that goes against the values we thought we had instilled in them. I am sure your son is learning one of the hardest lessons of all: taking the consequences/responsiblity for a bad judgement call - how else are they ever to learn? I know that is small comfort as we always feel our children's behaviour reflects on us as parents - whether good or bad.

Also with regards to VB - you have been on such an emotional rollercoaster ride this past year that you must be fairly rung out...you'll reflect back on this time and wonder how you ever got through it without turning into a basket case! Crying is just one of those things that allows for 'release' - never underestimate the power of a good bawl! But conversely - laughter is mighty powerful too...

As for the Wabbalies...I had written them off at the beginning of the year, but now I feel they may have a chance of getting somewhere - not sure if I'm being too optimistic though...I'd like to think they can get another win over the AB.
We've got 4 homegames of the Spirit and I can only make the last one - and that is looking decidedly dodgy as its mum's birthday (1pm game)-do you think I can tell her to have a birthday brekky instead of a lunch due to rugby commitments??
Take good care sweetheart

You're right Rose, Puffing Billy runs through the middle of Cockatoo. I live 'up the back', which means we're about a two minute drive to the tracks. Sometimes, if the wind is blowing towards us, we can hear PB calling! We are a semi rural community, a lot of horse properties, potato farms and some fields of cows and sheep. On the other hand, we are only a twenty minute drive to suburbia and major shopping centres and only a 45 minute drive to the CBD of Melbourne.
Thanks for dropping in to my page. If you're ever down this way again, give us a yell. Love to meet you someday.

Hi Rose, Please pass on my best wishes to Paul for a very I hope you don't eat too much .

Glad to hear Veronica is progressing. My great nephew Taylor who was born last November sits below the 99th percentile in weight. He is quite long - just growing out of 00s now but very thin. His mum worries about him of course, but he is a very happy young man. I suppose all those littlies grow at their own rate.
VB might just be one of those littlies all her life. My sister was always small and even now at 40 she is only 5'2'' and about 45kgs.
All the best to you and Paul.

Hi Rose! What a pity you won't be able to make it on Sunday! I could be slefish and say ... would missing one swimming lesson hurt? But then I'd be a hypocrite because we always try and go to ours - with a better attendance record than many I imagine. There will be some young other kids there ... June's and my girl ... so, if you change your mind ...

Rose, did I see on the Sukodu pages that you have just bought a new iMac. Congratulations, you will find thaty it is one of the better moves you have made in your life.
I have been using Apple for at least 20 years now. I bought one because it was user-friendly, and I haven't changed my mind yet. The OS X takes a little bit of getting used to, but once you have the basics under your belt I'm sure you will be pleased.
If you are having any difficulty, try to figure out what would be the easiest and most logical solution - and give it a try. Often you will find that it works.
Also, the 'Help' command is usually helpful (not always so on the pc).
If you have any queries I would be happy to try to give you some useful advice. Good luck - good choice.
