Hello everyone!  Welcome to my page.

Dwellingup is a small town just under 100 kms South West of Perth City.  It's a beautiful spot, but unfortunately we were badly affected by the bushfires in February 2007.  Still rebuilding after the devastation.

Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts and wishes for our recovery Smile  We can't wait to re-open our Chalets and welcome guests (and their four legged kids) again Laughing

UPDATE:   Finally finished the rebuilding and refurbishing - took almost two darn years and probably 12 months longer than it should, but we've done it.  Thanks to everyone for their kind thoughts along the way.

Jude, hope you have a wonderful day, I just took a stroll down your picture gallery and I love your flowers, since it is my first visit I left some sugar pie on the table and a handful of dish towel that I knitted this winter. So sorry about the bush fire that distructed your house...Must be very difficult to go through that...for today think only of yourself and have a great birthday.

Jude. Have a great day. I think you're one of those chocoholics aren't you! So here's some very very chocolaty Lindt I've just been through your Gallery. That fire must have been horrendous & that's probably an understatement!

Hello Jude - I haven't seen you on the site in ages but I must admit, I haven't been on there much lately either.
The photo was taken out at the Stirling Ranges at a replica windmill called the Lily where a few friends and I went for lunch one overcast day last year.

Hey Jude....[funny...reminds me of a song..]
for dropping by on my birthday.
This was my first 'Sudoku' birthday and I've enjoyed all the visits immensely.
So glad you enjoyed my photos.
As you may have gathered I'm a bit of a dog nut!

It has been taking me forever to get around with my thankyou's because I've been checking out everyones photos....

The bushfires must have been devastating for you [obviously physically from the photos] but emotionally as well. When do you hope for business to be up and running again?

Hope to catch up one day when I eventually get back over to WA...you are even on the way to Bunbury..my destination! You ever been over East?

Must keep truckin...

Dear Jude,
Thank you for your support while I have been ill. I never expected such a response from this site, everyone’s concern and caring has overwhelmed me. I can only say that it is the genuine people here who make this a very unique place to share our hopes, dreams, ups and downs. So thank you for being there.

Hi Jude! Here's your first message in 2009! I can't believe it's been well over a year since my last note on your page way back in Dec. 2007. And all this time you've been working hard on restoring your property after the bushfires. Wow, you've done a great job - everything looks as good as new or even better. Love the Phoenix sculpture. Congratulations on the wonderful restoration.

Jude, well done. The effort you have put into getting the place back up to scratch has paid off. It looks fantastic. Kathy stole my words, I think it looks even better too.
Great to see you back posting. Good luck with the business.

Jude,
First visited your page because I have only ever met one other Jude in my life, she was married to a good fried of my husband, but they have since divorced. A very unusual and unique name. Thank you for sharing your photos, how painful it must have been for you to see your beautiful land go up in flames. Your phoenix sculpture is very beautiful, is this one of your talents as well? Your land looks very peaceful and serene. While I doubt I will ever be able to visit, thank you for your sharing your little piece of our Earth with me.

Take care and be well,
Aimee

Hi Jude!

Yes, the loss of our buddies can be rough. I was still really, really missing my Sandy - of course telling myself that she was out of the suffering that was inevitable - when i heard of an unadoptable dog who now resides in my home. We are coming to terms his his issues (excitable peeing is the worst) and he has forced me to go on long walks (to drain his energy - but I am losing weight!) several times a day, and this has helped to distract me from the empty places in my house and life. Life is a bit of an uproar - from a calm old dog who shared my routines to a hyper 8 month old puppy with "bad Manners" is not what I planned!

I am happy that your life is returning to a norm after the fire damage. I can't even imagine it. Yet I do, because I live in a wooded area that is too dry from years of drought, trees are dying, evergreens dry up and are blown over to create a tinder in the wooded floor, and I do feel fear - particularly in hunting season when many idiots go into the woods to behave carelessly!

Ooooops!!! I wish there was an Undo key. You must be wondering why on earth I have sent the above message, I have just spent ages answering some lovely messages I got yesterday and I somehow blundered onto your page, then got involved in it and ended up just sending you a thankyou like I had the others.
It was worth it all though to see your page and read your story. Best wishes to you and your spirit. Kate Ox.

Hi Jude! I wandered here after reading your note on Joan's page, and I stopped to look at your photos. I'm so sorry for the terrible losses you had in the fire, and I'm glad that you are rebuilding. It must have been such an awful time for you - the photos are heartbreaking. Good luck to you, and Happy Easter. :)

Hi Jude, sorry about the inbox thing - the inbox is 'send Fiona a private message' at the top right hand side of the page - that way everyone gets a chance to post their answer without posting on the main page and spoiling it for the others. I give the inbox a new name every day, sometimes with a clue to the riddle incorporated - as you will have understood if you solved the riddle correctly!

Tried posting several times on your photo page, but couldn't. Maybelline is a beauty. Selling her must have been heart wrenching for you also.

The deed is done. I can see it everyday next door, as I pull out of my drive. She has a good home and his wife, said I made him very happy. On the bright side for me: I cancelled the insurance (will get a refund) and that means one less bill to pay.

Hey Jude, (Beatled my way in there)
Dwellingup is a beautiful part of our world that has had more than its fair share of fiery challenges. Your “after” photos show a peaceful serene setting. I am sure your guests will enjoy a relaxing time and their dogs too.
