Great YouTube, Helena.
Just listening to Pavarotti, Andrea Bocelli, Sarah Brightman and the others gave me goose bumps. So thank you! I have no idea how to get YouTube onto my page.

Thank you Helena, I have followed your advise and finally got my own YouTube on my page. It is Sarah Brightman and Andrea Bocelli singing "Time to Say Goodbye".

Yes, Helena, I did see on the news Pavarotti's funeral. I hope that I might be able to see the whole funeral mass on television (satrllite) one day.

That memory quilt has no permenant home, but it does travel for viewings. there were so many memorial quilts made, not all can find places to be displayed. We thought we had a home at one of the airlines to honor the pilots and attendants killed, but that fell through.

What a great video Helena!
You can clearly see the difference between a well-trained voice and Bryan Adams, but quite good of him to attempt it with Pavarotti!

Hi Helena, I agree with you about the cricket (also rugby). I didn't know much about either until my two boys started playing these sport when they were little. Now I can understand the games and they are more enjoyable for me. Both boys have grown up and left home (one married and lives in Dubbo, the other lives about 500 km away) so I don't watch as much sport as I did when they were at home.

HELENA, about uploading photos, I had the same problem on the 10th September, trying to get photos uploaded through gallery. I gave up and uploaded a couple through Flickr, so you are not alone with the problem. I think it is another something for GATH when he returns. I think I sent him a message, but you can also, go to "contact us" at the top of the page. Then he will know it is not JUST ME having problems
Congrats on the stop smoking, 6 months is great! It does get easier, but do not be suprised by a sudden out of the blue desire for a ciggy. Even after you have not thought of one w=for weeks or months. Happened to me. Six and a half years since I quit. Last night out to dinner, and hubby smoking sitting next to me, and I find myself fanning his cigarette smoke away. I hate to think I smelled like that for so many years!!

Hi Helena I love your pictures on Flicker. South Africa certainly is a rugged country with the beauty of the ocean. I'm leaving some crappie fillets from a recent outing for you to fry up.

Helena, dropped by to check out the new youtube....very enjoyable...so much to be learned from our music...often what we see is that we have more in common than we think. We need to respect the differences and celebrate those thigs we have in common so that we can stop fighting over the unimportant 'stuff'.May peace be with you.

Hi Helena, and thanks for stopping in. That is the first time I heard the Mafikizolo group. They have a nice sound. What language do they sing in, as I know there are many spoken in South Africa? Enjoyed listening to the song. Thank you for the heads up!

Helena, I have not tried to upload any more photos either, so do not know if the photo gallery is working now or not. My daughter is visiting, and she keeps me busy. Luckily she went to visit friends tonight, I get some rest time. That girl can be like the energizer bunny (USA advertisement) she keeps going and going and going.

Helena, my daughter is here from California, which is about 3,000 miles away. She also visits about once a year. But we do talk daily, a 20 minute phone call a day, so we keep up with each other's life. E-mail for exchanging photos, and we are pretty well caught up. I cannot imagine Mothers who's chhildren were so far away 200 years ago, and they might get a letter a month or less. Technology does help!
I miss her for the things we did together though. Mainly shopping and eating out, still her favorite things to do. So what did we do yesterday? shop and had lunch out
That girl is a world class shopper.

Hi Helena. I was so pleased to hear today that the potential mine disaster in SA was prevented, and all miners will be rescued. Regarding your video, Rosemary has posted Paul Potts final performance under videos in the Forum section. You might enjoy watching that as well. Cheers!

Helena, your words brought me great comfort. Thank you so much for taking the time to compose such a thoughtful message. My mother was indeed larger than life and carried her emotions on her sleeve without apology. My husband says he sees a lot of her in me, so I suppose she truly does live on. And my job going forward is to keep making her proud of me. Wish me luck!

My gosh, I'm back already. Just rechecked today's puzzle page and learned about your parents' 53rd anniversary. All the best to them, and what a wonderful testimony to their enduring love to see your father taking such good care of your ailing mother. I wish them both many more years of love and tenderness.
Please tell them they have a friend from Canada who is cheering them on.

Helena, we had a quiet drive today to my home town, delivering cards and token gifts to the nurses who cared for mom. We checked on the house, sad knowing that soon we'll have to begin clearing things out and putting it up for sale. Meanwhile, it's Thanksgiving here--we're not celebrating in a big way, but we certainly are thankful to have had such a special mother. Your father sounds like a gem; it's so terrific to hear that he's caring so well for your mother, and that you're there to lend your support. Wishing you and your family a day filled with good times, spent together.

Helena,
Glad to hear that you had a nice trip to London. I really enjoyed my trip there and look forward to seeing your photos. I just looked at the photographs you have posted now, very nice. I especially liked the ones of Victoria Falls and of your family swimming at the top of the falls. Were you as close to the edge as it looks in the picture, how do you keep from going over?

Hi Helena. Welcome home. Hope you enjoyed your time in England. If you haven't read back to see comments, I had posted this message yesterday on the Easy Sudoku puzzle:
"Unless Argentina has some magic to pull out of their hat, I think it just might be South Africa versus England in the final. Since Helena is in England right now visiting family, I wonder who she'll be cheering for?"
So who are you cheering for in the final?
