Helena, what I meant by my question is who are you cheering for in the final, RSA or England? It should be a good match regardless.

Hi, Helena! It's a beautiful anthem for a beautiful country!

As this may be my first visit to your page, please accept these chrysanthemums (our fall flowers) and some freshly made apple cider & apple cider donuts.

Helena - thanks for sharing the video - fantastic display of your country which has been through some troubled times.

Congratulations on quitting smoking!!! I have just celebrated 12 months smoke free on the 18th. Well done.

Forgot to mention - that deep "waterhole" near the end of the video looks dangerous with the steep sides - or perhaps it's just the angle from which it was taken?

I am with you all the way with the Springbok against the poms. Go the Southern Hemisphere!!!! May you have revenge on behalf of the Wallabies (who really could've played better)!!! It should be a great match with to great kicker...Montgomery and Wilkinson.

Hello again Helena - so sorry for your loss - it would have been terrible for you and your family. Thank you for your wishes - we are still rebuilding; probably until next year. We also suspect that this bushfire was deliberately lit - we actually had three outbreaks of fire on 26th Dec; 26th Jan and then the one that hit us on 3rd Feb.

It only takes high winds and very high temps to start up again. Take care

Protea are also grown on Maui, near my SIL's place. I ordered a basket for this past weekend (http://www.goblesflowers.com/protea.htm). The 10th was my husband's birthday and our church had a Thanksgiving Dinner (used it as the centerpiece for the dinner). The following day the basket was used as altar flowers and after the service I took them over to the VA Domicilery and left them for the Vets. The arrangement will last over 3 weeks (then can be dried).

I love proteas that feel more like a bird's feathers or soft fur. They are so beautiful. When people ask about them, I do let them know that they are the Natioinal Flower of South Africa.

Personally, I don't know how you can do it! I try sooo hard to limit my time here but one visit a day is not enough. Even as my hubby's car is pulling out of the driveway most mornings, I am in here for a sneak peek! Shhh, don't tell anyone!
Anyhoo, enough of my babble! Just wanted to wish you and yours a

My best wishes and thoughts are winging their way over to your friends in Zimbabwe. There is so much madness and suffering all over the globe...it totally blows ones mind to witness the cruelties that mankind can inflict on its race.
I hope your family is safe & well in your little corner of the globe. Ciao for now.

Hi Helena. I saw your post yesterday. God help all those in Zimbabwe. The oppression there has been going on far too long. I would imagine that many in the country have fled by now and those that are still there have no jobs and little hope. If only we as individuals could do something more then just pray and voice opinions.
