Just popping in to see how the 'old' man is doing and lo and behold you have youtubed!! I had the wonderful pleasure of having had lunch with this man a few years ago (not saying how many!! but was in the 80's) A very gracious man too. He had just come back from South Africa and was very angry about mining and the hardships of the country. Brings back memories, loved Bridge Over Troubled Water, wonderful music.
We get Greys Anatomy here too but have never watched it, hadn't realised Snow Patrol was the theme tune.

Greg, Thanks for viewing my vid actually I should have said shadow Minister with the current opposition party of Labor but it is looking very much like Labor will win the election later this year. (John Howard is very unpopular her now) Yes, he is showing as much 'Power and Passion' as party policy will allow but, I am sure he is having inside influence.

CRICKET, according to the witty Bill Bryson (In a Sunburned Country, about his travels Down Under): 'After years of patient study (and with cricket there can be no other kind) I have decided that there is nothing wrong with the game that the introduction of golf carts wouldn’t fix in a hurry. It is not true that the English invented cricket as a way of making all other human endeavors look interesting and lively; that was merely an unintended side effect. I don’t wish to denigrate a sport that is enjoyed by millions, some of them awake and facing the right way, but it is an odd game. It is the only sport that incorporates meal breaks. It is the only sport that shares its name with an insect. It is the only sport in which spectators burn as many calories as players—more if they are moderately resteless. It is the only competitive activity of any type, other than perhaps baking, in which you can dress in white from head to toe and be as clean at the end of the day as you were at the beginning.

'Imagine a form of baseball in which the pitcher, after each delivery, collects the ball from the catcher and walks slowly with it out to center field; and that there, after a minute’s pause to collect himself, he turns and runs full tilt toward the pitcher’s mound before hurling the ball at the ankles of a man who stands before him wearing a riding hat, heavy gloves of the sort used to handle radio-active isotopes, and a mattress strapped to each leg. Imagine moreover that if this batsman fails to hit the ball in a way that heartens him sufficiently to try to waddle forty feet with mattresses strapped to his legs, he us under no formal compunction to run; he may stand there all day, and, as a rule, does. If by some miracle he is coaxed into making a misstroke that leads to his being put out, all the fielders throw up their arms in triumph and have a hug. Then tea is called and everyone retires happily to a distant pavilion to fortify for the next siege. Now imagine all this going on for so long that by the time the match concludes autumn has crept in and all your library books are overdue. There you have cricket.'

Greg, you are lucky to have such a talented daughter. And Yes, I guessed about the 'crickety' thing. Actually, I hadn't realised that cricket was popular in Canada until one day I was strolling across the river flats at Edmonton and I heard a familiar sound of leather on willow. I followed the sound and there before my eyes, was a genuine game of cricket, players in their creams, a slow dignified clapping from the crowd (of about 20) and shouts of 'Owzat' from the players. I felt quite at home.

And thank you for all your 'heads ups' regarding my beautiful offspring appearing on other pages of this site.

Hello Greg - I thought it was time I called in to your page and paid you a visit and you're not here, you're at work. So I'll just leave you a pot of homemade pumpkin soup to warm you up when you get home.

Hi Greg,

Thanks for the push into page 2. And yes I am still looking for star dust. It’s getting harder and harder now to advance through the ranks as there is a fair amount of competition. Doing a little math, I figure now there is an average of 133 points in score between each position in rank. That’s for the next 34 positions anyway. At least that was what it was a few days ago. Anyway, I am now at a rank of 134 and my score is 11250. Not sure what I will do when and if I make it into the top 100. At one point I despaired of ever making that but now that I am only 34 away... who knows? I guess it possible. Thanks again for asking.

Greg: I noticed you asked where Sanibel Island is. (I was snooping through Deb's photostream in Flickr) It is in Florida's West coast, accessible through a toll bridge (not tall, toll as in $6.50) and it is a must see for anyone visiting Florida.

Hi Greg - No, we have no plans for Canada this summer. We thought we might run up over Easter, but that isn't going to happen either. There is a fellow that does machining for motorcycles near Thessalon. My husband sent him an e-mail and he never responded. The deer slayer is in parts right now. The 'rear-end' needed some work and a few other parts. (It is a 1977) The BMW Rally is in Wisconsin in July and our goal is to make it. We thought we would take the boat ride across Lake Michigan over to Wisconsin. As far as the turkeys go....I was looking out my bathroom window about a week ago and I saw all these brown 'things' at the end of our dog's run. Then they moved. Well.......I didn't have my glasses on, so I came downstairs and lo and behold we counted about 23 turkeys. We have lived out here in the country for about 25 years and we have never seen turkeys like that. The first turkey I ever saw here was 'Tom' and that was last Fall. That duck....He followed me out of the grocery store in Florida this past winter. I thought he was going to follow me right to the car, but when he got to an island in the parking lot, he stopped. I thought maybe he wanted my groceries! I hope this finds you and your family doing well. Do you have any big travel plans this summer?
