Heidi, the trees are gum trees. Part of the eucalyptus family. Gum trees are all smooth barked.

This one looks like it should be part of a forest.

Hi Heidi. I was so sorry to hear about the deaths of Coffee & Hollie. Dear oh dear, you have had to say goodbye to so many wonderful animals. Even with as much practice as you've had, it probably never gets any easier. It seems like fate that another rescue dog has found its way to you & your big heart. Lucky Timmy - please give him a big hug from me.

Hi Heidi
Had a look at the Spruce Lodge website. They sure are a stylish looking horse and a pretty rare breed from what I read. Do you propose to breed them.
I've had an historic week. On Sunday night, a horse I actually bred myself won her first race. I've had lots of winners that I've bought but this is the first I've bred. It was a sires stakes race but I don't know if I'll send her to Victoria for the semi-final.

What a beautiful young horse Heidi. As a Bushie I love exotic farm animals. I have a couple of old ex trotters saved from the Knackers to look after. Enjoy your new love..

Hi Heidi
I presume Gypsy Cobs and Gypsy Vanners are the same breed. The photos look the same. We have a Gypsy Cob breeder near to where we live and I am at some stage going to visit them to have a look at their horses. I note coloured stallions are often used over other breeds incuding thoroughbreds. What do you think you would get if you mated a standardbred mare to a Gypsy stallion.

Hi Heidi. When I wrote to Julie & asked about her daughter's wedding she directed me to details in her comment on SA. I had to search & search to find it, but that gave me a chance to catch up on the postings of regular SA contributors. Gosh, so many hardships lately for so many people there. Sad reading, but I was happy to come across the website you posted for the video of Whimsey & watched that. She is so pretty - I kept hoping they would show her running. Hope she is settling into her new home well & that your back is feeling better.

Hello Heidi
I’m sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you but I have been in Adelaide on a Dog Judging Assignment. The other judges were great fun with three from the USA (Maryland), a married couple from New Zealand and a gay couple (male) from Holland. I was the token Australian. The dinners were hilarious and I put on 2 kilos.
Fortunately this week I have been very strict and have lost 1.8k in 4 days.
Anyway thank you so much for your birthday wishes. They were really very much appreciated. After many years of trying I’ve finally convinced the family not to waste money on cards and presents of things I don’t really want and put their money towards a plane ticket to visit the old folks more often.
At my age, I’m just glad to have the birthday without having all the hoo haa as well.
Hope all the animals are well. I'm now deciding on the stallion to use this season and I think I'll go for another son of Artsplace - Art Colony. He's line bred to my mare on his dam's side.
Again thanks for your best wishes.
Regards, David

I am so sorry to hear that you have lost two of your dog companions today. It's always very hard to say goodbye to them, especially two in one day. You never stop missing the pets one has had over the years, so we will just try to remember the joys we had while they were with us.

Heidi: Tami called & told me about Lady & Dennis. My love & hugs to you at this sad time.
My friend Helen had to put her 2 dogs down almost 2 weeks ago (this coming Friday). She asked me to go with her for support...gave me a chance to say goodbye to them too.
I am here for you if you need anything!! Love you LOTS!!

Hello Heidi
Sorry to hear you are in a lot of pain. Hope the epidural works. Mrs S had one for the birth of our first child. Nurse left us alone to talk and when she came back the baby was virtually born and neither of us knew a thing about it. Certainly worked then.
Having yearling colt gelded tomorrow. I always have them gelded early because there is much less chance then of them injuring themselves in fences etc. Another grandson of Artsplace. Sending mare to Real Desire this year and he himself is a grandson of Artsplace.
Hope all your animals are behaving themselves.
Regards

I don't doubt they are a handful...but I can imagine how they can bring a smile to your face at about any moment. Puppies and kittens are so wonderful! Judging by the photo, these pups are gorgeous.
I think it's cool that we share #5 as a favorite number. It's funny how one can be drawn to a certain number. 6 and 9 are my least favorite numbers...now what have they ever done for me to dislike them? hehehe!

But then, she tends to think 'cold = gold' instead! She seems to love snow so much!
