Jill, I was so sorry to hear about your father. I don't know how he got the amonium chloride in his lungs, but perhaps it was a blessing in disguise, assuming he did not realize he had a possible heart problem. I wish you and your family all the best. My husband had two heart attacks (starting in 1989), followed by heart bypass surgery in 1993 and is still very much alive and kicking! Your Dad is in my thoughts and prayers.

Jill, I had the same thought as Jane wondering how your Dad got that whiff of ammonium chloride, but like she said maybe it was a good thing now that it has led to diagnosing his heart problem. to him with the angioplasty. My thoughts & prayers are on their way north to Ohio.

Thanks for the concern. My Dad was trying to do housework and he poured bleach in the potty and followed it up with ammonia. Not one of his better ideas!

Hi Jill! Thank you for stopping by my page to wish me happy birthday when you are so busy with other things in your life right now! You truly are among the "sandwich generation" taking care of both children & parents at the same time. May God bless you & give you the strength you need to get through this. Assume they must have found some blockage when they did your dad's angioplasty. Glad they got everything taken care of & he's now on the road to recovery - YOU, TOO!! Will his insurance cover some home health care when he goes home? Be sure he mentions your mom's poor health before he is discharged. It would be good for you to have some help with their care!!

Jill - They say kids learn from their parents. May yours learn that in life, we sacrifice for family. If they do it is a lesson to be well learned from the greatest teachers.

Great news Jill. I'm sure you are all feeling a little relieved. Please remember to take of yourself whilst looking after the rest!

Hi Jill, I'm glad your dad is recovering. Sorry I haven't been to your page yet, there are so many people here that I want to get to know, but I really should start with my fellow Ohioans! I am just outside of Columbus, in a suburb, near the airport. Maybe someday we'll have enough of us to have a sudoku get-together here in Ohio! Jill, I practiced the pick up spares when Ryan was at school -- You need to find the "sweet spot" dont' hit the head pin straight on - you will get splits - just a little bit off the side of the head pin - should do it. I havn't played it in a while - but they now have it offerecd at by mom's assisted living place. Enjoy your day, snow on the ground but quite a nice day to be outside. Mary
