Solution for string around cylinder problem posted 6 April.

I'll solve it without the use of Analytic Geometry with integrals ;>) Unwrap the cylinder at the start of the string. Note that the string now shows as a straight line. The length of one wrap is the hypotenuse of a triangle whose sides are 24cm and 108/6=18cm. So length of one wrap is 30cm, multiply by 6 to get 180cm.

If I remember right your due date was around May 3. I think you were ever so patient to wait until May 14 for her arrival. I think a lot of moms would have gone the route of being induced. Good for you to stay strong & let nature take its course!

Thanks for sharing the full story of Keziah's arrival. Like you said, it was good that breaking your water sped things along, & you avoided having to have pitocin! The drop in her heart rate must have been very scary. Was your husband in the delivery room with you? What a relief that Keziah is finally here & healthy & beautiful. Congratulations to you & your husband & to Keziah's big brothers & sister! Wish I lived closer. I'd come over to help.

Hi Serena. I didn't read any of the last three weeks of comments on Easy while we were traveling in France, but I immediately stopped by your page today to see if there were any new photos of Keziah. How is she doing? I know she's getting cuter & cuter every day, but can imagine you have you hands full & don't have much time for taking photos. I'm so anxious for the arrival of our next grandchild due 5 weeks from today. I hope to be in the delivery room again like I was with Chase. It is such a thrill to see a new baby come into the world! Please take care of your beautiful babies (of all ages now), and give yourself some time off from mothering when you can!
