When I say chuffed I don't mean Whirls is a train because then she wouldn't be a fridge would she...

2.10 beautiful white

A wongerful day in Andrés house
a new fridge, how grouse!
Electra decided time was up
been chillin wine since t'was a pup.

Whirls is new, arrived today
plugged it in and it purrs away.
standing tall, cool and white,
many shelves and a bright new light

no warm wine for André to drink
lots of chilled choccie I also think
but it's the Ol dart, tis always cold
not much heat to create green mould.

its winter time now at Andrés place
she dreams of warmth and JD's face
(oh and his body but that doesnt rhyme)
maybe they will meet just one time!

but back to the fridge from which I diverse
a poem not a patch on Rayrays verse
Whirls is happy, the wine is chilled
just Andrés dreams to be fulfilled!

Yea, I know Dorthea, but it's gotta have Whirls and chuffing and not being a train but a fridge with an abnormal aversion to beer bottles and it gets all quite psi-ki-atric and a little mauldin the way André tells it. The July 11th wake has long arms and affects the proceedings to this very day.

Before you loose equalibrium, André, check the little switch and make sure it is working properly. Sometimes on new equipment, they get stuck. Ours did.

Fishing Guy - Hope they're biting today!
Andre: Congrats on Whirls. Try tapping the light - works for me and happened to me the day I got my new you beaut Fridge. Sometimes it comes on, sometimes it doesn't bother!
Rayray & Jane: As usual, inspired poetry. I will never disregard sheep again as just one of God's creatures.

The case against the Aussie boy who threw the snowball has been dropped. You beauty! It cost his Mum 20 grand in legal fees (lucky she has it isn't it?) but they were determined to prove a point.

On that note folks I will say goodbye for now until sometime next year. I have to be tough on myself and keep away because I just waste far too much time. I am in the process of selling my house and the agent keeps wanting to bring potential buyers, so house must be pristine at all times, which takes a bit of organising I can tell you. Hoo roo for now everyone and have a great Christmas and New Year !!!

Last summer (AKA 'winter' in Oz) I said I would post a number of photos from my summer in St. Louis, Missouri. I posted 20 more photos from today. There are photos at St. Louis Zoo, Art Museum, Butterfly House, Museum of Transportation, Missouri Botanical Gardens, the Mighty Mississippi River, and of course a wild turtle!

The DEMISE of ANDRE’S FRIDGE

I read about poor André’s fridge,
which stopped and wasn’t cold.
It couldn’t freeze a single midge;
instead it cultured mould.
André was sad and mourned its loss;
’twas dead; and so she grieved.
But it later bore a layer of moss,
so the fridge just had to leave.
To keep dead freezers is not good;
they’re bereft of any life.
This, through her tears, she understood;
sense cut through mental strife.
Next hauled away to a Council cave,
it had its blood sucked out.
For coolant tends to misbehave;
giving ozone chronic gout.
A young model headlined André’s news -
replacing her lost friend.
The new one chills her vintage brews,
that make her heart ascend.
The old fridge now; so I’ve heard tell;
plays a quintessential role -
in fighting hot-spots down in hell,
with its sainted, freezing soul.
’tho’ once at night its ghost was heard,
and André shook in fright:
but the younger fridge just coolly purred,
and blinked its setting-light.

DEEP THOUGHTS BY MEN WHILE FISHING
Two men are out ice fishing at their favorite fishing hole, just fishing quietly and drinking
beer.
Almost silently, so as not to scare the fish, Mel says, "I think I'm going to divorce my wife - she hasn't spoken to me in over 2 months."

Earl continues slowly sipping his beer, then thoughtfully says, "You better think it over - women like that are hard to find."

I've just returned from a special concert given by the high school orchestra. Their guest performer was Pete Huttlinger, a remarkable guitarist. I have a cut of him performing on my page from YouTube. The last two numbers, he invited the concert master to join him for a couple of tunes. Chase Foster is quite a fiddler. He's performed with Charlie Daniels, Johnny Gimble, Hank Thompson to name a few and in Feb. he's opening for Tommy Emmanuel in Tulsa. You can hear him and his grandpa at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8GwiwNx77w. Try to imaging these two together jamming on Sweet Georgia Brown.
