Hi all. I am taking a break from painting today, started the woodwork down our end finally, room was painted last year! I am painting with black and it is giving me the absolute irrits, so I can see this will be a long job! Photo uploaded if you would like to see the final look of the room (almost, dado rail still to be added, it too will be black).

Greetings, All! Popping in to say I stayed awake for all of the driving - didn't even yawn. My doctor who monitors my sleep apnea wrote a prescription last week for a medication that helps fight narcolepsy (I think). I took half of one pill before we left for the eye doctor at 8:30 and the other half at 11:30 before hubby's appt. was done. (The area where doc is located had been without power after a storm yesterday and rescheduled almost everyone today, in addition to those already scheduled, so we had a long wait.) We got home from errands around 3, I think.

Hi, Cyn! Will you be having a quieter weekend?

Suzy, I hope all of your patients aren't trying your patience too much! Wow! I hope you can hold off this virus until your block at school has ended. Sending healthy vibes and positive thoughts that all are getting better, especially Tahli who can't tell you what's bothering her! Have you figured out who brought the virus home and shared? Is Tahli in day care while Dana is in classes? I suppose it could have been either one of them. If your hubby is like most, the fact that he is sick is the equivalent of 2 or 3 more household members being sick.

Good luck to Dana's friend in getting the help, support and protection she needs!

June, heartfelt condolences to Belinda! Her dog is definitely a member of her family! For this to happen now must be devastating for her! {{{{{HUGS}}}}} and for her - and also for you, Ken and Laura - as you do your best this weekend! We are here thinking of you and providing as much support as possible! I hope you and Ken have a relaxing and heart-healing drive. It might be a time to share some memories - or it might just be a good time to share some quiet.

June, a perfect TOPP and so reflective of you! You are an amazingly strong woman!

Gail, each bit you paint is progress! What you have done so far looks fantastic!

I think it's time to call it a night! You are all in my positive thoughts and prayers, healing vibes, and {{{{{HUGS}}}}}!

June and family - in my thoughts all day - and, June, the 'Abide with me' in the opening ceremony made me think of you all. Poor Belinda losing her dog is bad enough, but not just now.
On a lighter note, I have enjoyed looking at the opening ceremony - laughed, cried and felt proud of my country and proud for the Brits! It was wonderful!

Col and I have been under the weather yesterday and today - not the flu but a virus of some sort - headache, nausea and swollen glands - nice! I just hope it's not the start of something worse. Had big plans to do lots around here today - most of it did not get done - just the necessary.

I got up early and watched the Olympics. My sister dropped in for morning tea with a bunch of flowers. The we went for our drive and a light lunch. We went into a club for lunch, then put $5 in the pokies (Fruit machine) It kept paying small amounts and when we had enough we took out $20. We do not play them very often.
We then drove along a river through turf and vegetable farms and some bushland and home about 6pm. It was a nice sunny day and we both enjoyed being out and about. Thanks for all the thoughts.

((HUGS)) June, Ken and all the family.
We watched the opening ceremony for the Olympic too. I was most impressed with what Danny Boyle did. It was nice to see all walks of life included in the ceremony. I don't normally like Mr Bean (Rowan Atkinson), but will admit I had a good laugh at his part in the proceedings.
I love the Olympic Flame cauldron, especially as each country brought in part of it.The fact that 7 famous athletes (all now retired) nominated an up and coming young athlete to carry the final torches to light the couldron.
June 'Abide with me' always gets to me too.

Richard and I were out fairly early this morning, after the late night (went to bed after 2am). We had to drive up to Corby to pick up a car we have bought for D#2's use. We lose the little red car in November, the lease on it is up, so this 'new' car (13yrs old) will be a pool car which we can all use if needed. It's a Skoda Flelicia with only 29K miles on the clock so engine is like a new car. The rest of the car is in good nick too, one or two minor paintwork scratches but what can you expect fora 13yr old car.

Not one of my better days...very little sleep due to watching the Olympics and then having a bad case of itchiness most of the night.I enjoyed the opening cerebration immensely and look forward to the games.
Would try and take a nap perhaps, but the O.T is due here when I would think I'd like to sleep, so that may not happen.
Julie, glad to hear you are being treated for your sleep disorder and the meds are effective in helping you drive safely.
Read and thought of all of you but am too sleep deprived to remember much...at least I'll blame it on lack of sleep.lol.
Take care...know that I care.Peace.

I haven't watched any of the Olympics yet. I'm going to be VERY busy for the next 5 days. I got an email that instead of having Serenade delivered on the 6th or 7th, she's arriving on the 2nd! This Thursday! I need to get 59 6''x7' wooden posts into the holes this weekend, then get enough concrete to set them all, and pick up 37 16'x50'' livestock panels to attach to the posts.... and get the fence installed..... and I have only 5 days to do it... and only 3 of those days with Robert. So I'm off to work in a few minutes.

Greetings friends. I have got more done already today then yesterday, and still have the afternoon and evening to go. I have not yet run out of things to pack, that will happen later, cause there will be some things that can only be packed last minute. but with having more than I intend carrying of many things, dishes, pots and pans, linens, etc. I can get more packed earlier than most could. that is good, cause I cannot wait till last minute to do this. that pack and rest is still going on.

Nola, good to see you drop in for a visit. How is work going? Are you liking the responsibilities of your new job as much as you thouht you would? having any trouble getting everything done? that was my problem the first weeks, just unable to do it fast enough, did not have the rhythm down on how to get in, get it done and get out in a timely fashion. I hope it is better for you.

Heidi, you cold not tell the people you were not ready for Serenade yet? You know, the customer is always right, seems you could set the delivery date. I do hope you get it all done, seems a LOT to do in so short a time. Hope it is a bit cooler there today, it is here, a tad less humid too.

MAMA, you should not try to do much today. Being sleep deprived is not a good thing when one is recovering, so rest as much as you can today.

Brenda, I hope you have an uneventful day bringing the 'new to you' auto home.

CynB, hope you and Col feel better soon. Sounds a nasty bug you have.

JUNE, hugs to you and your family. At least now you are finished with all the 'firsts' since loosing Sharon, hopefully ' seconds' will not be as bad, as you start this second year without her.

Julie, glad you stayed awake while doing the driving. Daughter Joy has narcolepsy also, but hers manifests mostly with the inaility to wake up in the mornings. She also has medication to keep her awake and focused during day time, then another to take at night to counter at that stay awake med. As a teen, we thought she was just being lazy and uncooperative, it was such a chore to get her up and ready for school or anything.

Gail, I did go and see your photo of the painting you were doing. You are doing a great job, congrats on having yet another chore to mark off your list.

speaking of lists, I made myself one this morning when I could not sleep. It is so satisfying to mark completed things from the list!!

Midge, do not think I have taken time to bid you welcome. Your children really are globe trotters! Are all of them always that far away, and at the same time?

HI BEAN BYE BEAN, you were in and gone again at a fast clip!

I am here and gone now too, still boxes to pack. Hugs to each of you, with extras.

The date Serenade is delivered is the date the trucker is available. If I want another date, I can pick her up myself. But I feel pretty confident that I'll have everything ready on time. I still haven't told IH that I bought Serenade. I don't think I will tell him. I'll just see how long it'll take him to notice her. My guess is over a month.

Good morning SAers, on this glorious Sunday morning (ok, actually is overcast and dreary, but we have no kids in the house). I have not mentioned as yet, but Hannah has a boyfriend, and last night she went over to his house, he lives with his folks too, so with Beth away (did I mention she is in Bali?), Chloe and Jed not living here, and Hannah away, this makes for a perfect weekend! Hannah and her bf, Scott(!), have just passed their first monthiversary, and he is so sweet he bought her a pressie, a lovely little bracelet with a heart pendant, and he had it engraved, Scoot on one side and Hannah on the other. Now everybody say nawwwwww ♥

Thanks for the paintwork comments, it is a slow process, but it is happening. I am doing exposed woodwork first, then once that is done, we are moving furniture piece by piece and I do behind it. I can get two coats done in a day if I get a wriggle on and get started early enough. While one bit is getting finished, the next area is prepped, so we have patches of woodwork that look like they are leopard print due to having to fill so many nail holes! Time to go sand another door frame and hopefully I will get that doorway finished by tonight :)
Jed and Nissa are over again tonight, yet another Grand Prix...roast lamb for dins, and for dessert, hubby has found a recipe he wants to try, are you ready for this...Chocolate souffle with a molten centre due to the two dark choc Lindt balls that are poked in before baking...droooooool!

Good afternoon folks..

Gail..aawwwwwwwwwwww.. tell Scott to make one extra YUM!!!!! :)

Sorry Tricia but I'm being a bouncing Bean again today...

Really enjoying being able to see the sideboard in the hall... not to mention the floor!! Still haven't found the coffee table in the lounge but the sofa table is now looking pleased with itself.. Have decided to reorganise the furniture in the lounge but will try to restrain myself until Telstra have been and fixed our line. The internet is working agin but the landline still has a fault.. apparently 300+ metres from the house.. Waiting.. waiting..

Heidi it could well take more than a month!! Birth of a new foal? Lol.

Things went well yesterday.. phew! I was concerned how I was going to handle things if I was just what he had been searching for [I knew he wasn't for me] and it was with great relief that he confessed his 'disappointment' in me.. Maybe it was the liberal application of red lipstick that was the clincher.. it crossed my mind when I was in front of the mirror as I made my selection.. He is looking for someone that is quiet and retiring.. Oh dear.. giggling here.. Men..they have NO idea..

On the not so bright front.. the man I fell in love with was here today.. haven't seen a glimpse of him for years...& years.. I cried when he left to take Lachie flying. I'm hoping he has found a GF and is finally happy. Maybe it was the official letter we both received last week?

Must go..haven't done any boxes yet today.

xx

Good Evening, Friends!

CynB, I hope you and Col will soon feel better!

June, how thoughtful of your sister to bring flowers to morning tea with you! I'm glad you and Ken had an enjoyable and relaxing drive, lunch, and even won a few dollars!

Brenda, seems like you found a great car for a 'pool' car! I don't know if it had previously been owned by a 'little old lady who only drove it to church,' but 29,000 miles on a 13-year-old car isn't very much! I hope all went well in the trip driving the car home!

Mama, take it easy and rest/nap as needed! We want your progress to be on-going! Remember those baby steps!

Wow! Heidi, nothing like working with a deadline! So glad to hear that you were able to get the 59 posts in their holes! Have you purchased the quick-setting cement yet? I hope you'll be able to get enough for this project! The same for the livestock panels! So some of your next few days will probably be driving to buy, pick up, and bring all of the materials back to the farm. I hope Robert is prompt in arriving for work on the days he'll be helping you so that your time will be used efficiently! I also hope the weather cooperates! Is it possible to hire some of those teen-age boys who won't work for IH to help with some of the work? Hopefully they know you're not a penny-pinching ____ like he is! Good luck getting all of the work done!

Hi, Nola! We're glad to see you when you can find the time to pop in! I hope all is going well with your job and tasks become more routine and easier to accomplish in the time available! Sending positive vibes for you and all family members!

MizT, what great news that you were able to get more done today! You're right that it is very convenient that you can pack the things you don't need and just hold out enough to be able to function somewhat 'normally!'

Gail, hooray for a child-free weekend! Happy Monthiversary to Hannah and Scott! (What a great word!) It sounds like he's a considerate lad to remember and have a present for her! I hope Beth is having a wonderful time in Bali! Dinner sounds yummy! How was dessert? (Inquiring minds want to know.) Does Nissa enjoy the Grand Prix too, or just Jed and Scott?

Tami, I hope all is going well with the packing for your Mom & Dad! Time will start flying by, especially as the start of school approaches!

Rolanda, have a wonderful time visiting with family members at the family gathering! I hope things are progressing well on your new house!

Bean, you are making a lot of progress! I hope you got at least one box done today! You're right that it may take the birth of a foal before IH realizes there is a new horse on the premises! It sounds like your 'date' went about as expected. At least it was an opportunity to get out and converse with another adult!

It's time that I head to bed! Sending lots of positive thoughts, healing vibes, prayers, and {{{{{HUGS}}}}} for everybody!

Nissa and I have the attitude that if our menfolk love to watch the GP, then so do we! Often happens that one or either of us falls asleep on the couch, or she might go into the other loungs and read a book if she loses interest...then it is definitely me who will fall asleep. Only just heard from Jed, they played up last night and have only just woken out of their stupor, so they are running late, and Nissa may not even make it. Told hubby I already knew they would be delicate today, I read their FB last night lol

Haven't had dinner yet, so dessert is still not even made, but hubby assures me he has it all under control...bless! The baker (Scott) has been hard at it this weekend, a crusty white loaf, a French bread last night and a continental round loaf today...so much for the low carbs thing!

Well, off to purchase the livestock panels. IH was wondering why the rush and I explained that right now, the panels are selling for their lowest price in 15 years (True!!!) and I'm getting this project done while I can do it as inexpensively as possible. That's something he can understand and appreciate. He was so impressed by my economic brilliance that he offered to help unload the panels and put them in place this afternoon!!!! Tomorrow, I'll pick up as much concrete as I can. I checked online for the store's supply of the concrete I use. I need 118 bags and they only have 86. I can make that work. Te=hen, when Robert is here, we can get busy setting the posts and attaching the panels. That will be the hot and tiring work.

AHHHHHH, Gail, that bracelet seems so sweet. Happy for Hannah, he sounds like a keeper so far. Hubby's recipe for dessert sounds sinful, as chocolate desserts should be hehehe

heidi, having two people with the same name in a family can be confusing, you are observant to point that out. I missed it completely. We put up with that for about 50 years in my family. My Mom and sister were both Edna, and as you suggest, they were big Edna and Little Edna. Gail, hope you find a way to tell them apart in conversation.

OK, everyone a good conversation starter, as if we needed one hehehe. how would you tell the Scotts apart? Make your suggestions here please. Scott and Scottie?

BEAN, that was a rough day, you obviously still have feelings for him. Will he be bouncing in and out of your sight more now, visiting Lachie?

I'm back home with the 37 livestock panels. Now to unload them.... which I plan to do just where they're going to be installed. I only want to move them once. They're big, heavy and clumsy. (The employees kind of panicked when I said I wanted 37 of them. One guy said that he'd never seen anybody buy so many at once. That's a lot of manual labor and takes 2 big men to load them. Of course, one ornery woman can unload them.)

OK... The panels are now unloaded and in place. IH helped with most of them, believe it or not. Tomorrow I'll get some concrete and we'll start putting it all together into an attractive and strong fence. This will hold animals without electricity or many strands of barbed wire.

Hello people. I ache in places I didn't even know I had! Spent 3 hours total in the car yesterday to visit inlaws. Took grandies to a country fair today (about half an hour's drive) only to find there was no shade and no place to sit. I can barely move right now. Think I'll take some Tylenol and then lie down soon. Also, grandies were not entirely cooperative today and they spent a fair bit of time bickering with each other. Ah, gotta love siblings!!!!

Morning all - it was quiet on here yesterday!
Col and I are feeling much better (phew!) so he's gone off to work - it was cold here overnight so I felt sorry for him getting up at 3am to start at 4 and head west to Toowoomba, where it would have been near 0c - brrrrr!
But, while it's quite cold, the weather is fine, clear blue skies - the kind of winter weather we usually have - not like the rainy start we had to it.

Theresa - I have a couple of grandies who bicker a lot. It's strange that my daughter has a son and a daughter who seldom bicker and my son has 3 girls who bicker all the time, particularly the 2 younger ones.
Heidi, I hope you get that fence done without it taxing your health and strength too much. Pleased to hear that IH helped.
Gail - Hannah and Scott V2.0 - awww, lovely!
Bean - sorry the date didn't work out and that you got upset yesterday - hope you're feeling better today.
Now I'm forgetting what I read - hi to Rolanda, June, Tricia, Julie, Tami, Nola, Brenda and Mama - big hugs all round

Glad you're feeling better, Cyn.

Wonder how Suzy is doing ...

Cyn, the grandies will stick up for each other if someone else says something negative about one of them, but when they're alone they bicker quite a bit. I'm sure they'll be close when they're older, but for now it can be really annoying!
