Tami... It looks like Dylan will have some bragging rights. The NCAA Championship game is between Butler and Duke. Duke should win.

Happy Easter, Everyone!

Hi, Heidi, Gail, Suzy, June, MizTricia, Rena, Suzanne, Broni, Rolanda, and anyone I've missed!

Gail, sorry to hear that your sister who had the surgery is progressing slowly. You might let her know that I was told with my knee replacements to expect the swelling to remain (though it does decrease slowly) for 6 months to a year. My knees actually feel more sore and swollen now than they did a month ago. She shouldn't be impatient. There was LOTS of trauma to her body! It may help if she ices her ankle at least once a day - and keep it elevated as much as possible, UNLESS her doctor has told her something else.

Suzy, have you told us the name of the sleep-inducing movie? Good luck finding the remaining items for Ebob's trip. If it helps, I think of have some of the Scholl's moleskin. Congrats on having a new dishwasher! We don't use ours every day (only the two of us at home now), but are glad to have it when we use it every 3 or 4 days, as needed.

June, I'm glad you had fun at bowls, even if you didn't win. Congrats on winning the prize for best Easter bonnet!

MizT, I'm glad you could sleep in, even if Al didn't. I hope all went well with the framing of the dome he was working on.

Heidi, 14 baby quail! Oh, my, you will be even busier. Are they able to feed themselves right from the start? Where do the visitors come from for the tour of your farm?

Rena, thanks for stopping by! We have missed you! Give Amber, that tough young lady, a big hug. Happy Easter to you and your family!

Broni, I hope you are feeling better!

Rolanda, thinking of you, your Mum and your family! Tell your Mum that it's the doctor's fault and he is requiring the change! Doctors get paid big bucks for something.

She's not at all impatient yet. She had a single bed brought downstairs, and as she said, she only has toilet privileges! She grabs any of the family who happens past her door and gives them chores, or errands to run for her...I think she is quite enjoying herself.

Hi Julie! Happy Easter!

Running my dishwasher for the first time!! I had to pretend it was full (only want to run it when it's really full) so I could try it out. I made sure there was some dried on stuff on some of the dishes to see if I need to pre-rinse. I hope not as that kind of defeats the purpose of the water saving feature!

Gail, does she have a walking cast? I assumed she didn't when she was supposed to use crutches, but I'm wondering how she manages with a frame ..

Good afternoon and happy Easter/Passover to all you lovely SA9 people.
Family has gone for the day. 11am - 4pm is quite enough noise and mess, thank you. Good day though.
Suzy - I knew! Julian's younger sister was born the same day as Karin and his Dad was still PM. So I'm lying there being induced when I hear on the radio that Sonia (RIP Sonia) had given birth by caesarian that morning - boy, did I hate the privilege of being a PM's wife that day!!! When Billy was PM, the magazines loved snapping his kids so we watched J grow up. PS - enjoy your dishwasher!
Gail - hope your sister starts to feel better soon.
June - Congrats on winning the Easter Bonnet comp!
Heidi - 14 baby quails certainly is good for them being sent by post!
Suzanne - hope you're feeling better.
Hi to MizT, Julie, Broni (I thought you'd be out on the bay this weekend), Tami, Rena and anyone I've missed. Enjoy the rest of your easter break!

That's how I found out about Julian! It was in her obit. Apparently she made quite a stir at the White House by wearing a dress slit up the sides - way up the sides...

Good morning all.
Gail, sounds like your sister might be enjoying herself a little bit.
Suzy, I try not to run my dishwasher too often. When I bought new dishes several years ago, they were on sale for a really good price so I bought service for 16. I figured with two little boys, it would save replacing quickly due to broken dishes. It means I don't have to wash dishes as often
Cyn, glad the day went well. I know what it is like to have a house full of people. Fun when they are there and better when they leave.
Heidi, 3 of us are now rooting for Butler. Next year we are going to see who Dylan doesn't want, and pick them.

JULIE, the dome framing was rained out, a HUGE rainstorm and then the entire area around the foundation was MUD. Not a good idea to be climbing on ladders or framework with slick muddy boots so they canceled and rescheduled for a dry weekend!

SUZY, My girls gave up hunting eggs much earlier than your girls, be happy they are keeping the tradition. They did expect Easter candy, though, so thier baskets were filled yearly, until they left home. At our house, the girls had to put out their empty baskets on Saturday night for the bunny to fill them! I had bought very nice baskets when each was young, and they lasted their entire childhood. Was a bit of a pain having to do the basket filling after they went to bed, instead of having a new basket that could have been prepared earlier while they were in school.

NO Easter candy here, No colored eggs, NO new outfit, NO special dinner. We will go to a special Easter service this afternoon.

I run my dishwasher only when full. I do not pre rinse. When emptying the dishwasher, the rule is, if you find something that did not get clean, leave it to run again with the next load. Been my rule for as long as I had a dishwasher.

OK, time to go and have breakfast, and reset my computer time one last time. I did at last trick it to staying current, by changing the time zone, moved my cpmputer to the eastern time zone hehehe. It did an auto update last night, the OLD date for changing time, so now I can move it back to Central time and we are good to go till fall. There is more than one way to outsmart a computer!!

Hugs to all and

HAPPY EASTER

Had a nice chat with Tami and the Beastie Boys last night. They'll be spending the day with Bobbi and Bernie today. Bernie is doing a lot better now that they're regulating his CO blood levels.

Have a great PASSOVER celebration today, my friends!!!

Not doing much for Easter today, other than sorting out cow/calf pairs from the calving pasture. We want to leave only the cows that haven't calved yet.

That's pretty much done. In the front pasture are the 5 that haven't calved yet, and one cow/calf pair that wouldn't cooperate.

Our local Lion's Club President had a heart attack last night. He's in the hospital, but unfortunately he's in Hardin Malpractice. I am really worried about him. I've never had a friend go in to that hospital and come out alive. Gil and I plan on bringing him some flowers later today. Maybe he'll be the first to make it.

Heiei, thoughts and prayers for your friend in hospital. I hope you find him improved when you visit.

Is he in intensive care unit? If so, flowers might not be allowed in there, might be good to ask first.

He's in the CCU. Cardiac Care Unit. It now looks like we're not going. IH decided that it's too far to drive (1/2 hour). Especially since we have a cow due to calve any minute.

Heidi, thoughts going out to your friend. I hope he is the one to make it out of that hospital. I went to my parents to do some work. Hubby and I had to replace a ripped screen on their back porch. All done. Have another one to fix next time but it is a strange location.
Vici, good to see you posting here again.
Hope everyone has/had a wonderful Easter.

Morning all!
Cyn, I worked out where I was - I was 5 when Julian was born, 7 when Lady McMahon wore the dress, the only thing I remember watching on TV before I was about 12 is the moon landing, and by then I had learned that unless it was something I really desperately wanted to watch, don't watch TV with my father... In case you are interested (I think it's funny when comparing it to today) I was 14 when we got our first telephone...

Tami, I'm glad to hear Bernie is doing better. Sending SA vibes for that to continue...

Heidi, sorting chickens and collecting eggs might have been a more appropriate egg day activity! Though I guess calves are the cow version of eggs.

MizT, we discovered the key to keeping the tradition alive - money in some of the eggs!

Heidi, thoughts and wishes to your friend in Hardin Malpractice. I too hope he becomes the first friend you know to leave alive!

Gail and Cyn, I'm smiling here about another weird comparison - when Sonia was at the white house shocking people with her slit dress, we had an outdoor dunny!!

Tami, I think trouble is wrong for you, I'm trying to think of an adjective that starts with T and means busy all the time....

Broni, hope the troubles after the ravioli have all gone now! I really hope chocolate isn't a problem, though I'm pretty sure most of that is loaded with preservatives too - yikes!!

We just found one of my replacement heifers in the woods.... dead. She had gotten into a drainage area for the creek, so it took a long chain to get close to her to drag her out.

Sorry about the heifer, Heidi. Hope your friend soon gets better.
Suzy, I had realised that you were young when
Julian was born. Enjoy the new dishwasher. Use it when it is full, but not overfull as then it will not wash properly. The water has to have room to agitate.(I am inclined to overload mine sometimes).
Off to Belinda's today. Laura has spent Eater with her so we will pick up Sharon and then bring them back home. More hidden eggs for Laura today.

Hi all, it has been a while, but I've been reading.

Good Friday at my in-laws, hubby's birthday Saturday, supper at my daughter's this evening, a lot of yardwork ... I'm bushed.

Heidi, sorry about your friend's illness. I find the name of the hospital a bit strange, but maybe it's just me. Also sorry about the heifer. Life's journey is full of trials and tribulations, but sometimes it seems there's more trials than anything else.

June, have a great holiday.

Suzy, when my daughter got to be a teenager we used to hide coins. In Canada we have a $1 coin called a Loonie and a $2 coin called a Toonie, so we used to hide those.

Well, I'm exhausted, so I think I will make it an early night. BTW, I am looking for a part-time job so if all goes according to plan, I will have less time than ever. The job I have at home now just isn't lucrative enough, so I thought I'd get some extra job to supplement our income. Oh, if only we didn't need money!!!

TTFN, you are all in my thoughts.
