Hi, Heidi, Suzy, June, Rolanda, MizTricia, Broni, CynB, Tami the Troublemaker, and anyone I have missed!

Heidi, enjoy your new quail and good luck with the eggs in the incubator! (What kind of eggs are they?) I hope you'll be able to enjoy the surprise litter of kittens!

Suzy, seems like you should borrow Stella's "Mom's Taxi" avatar, as it seems you need to get your girls to many places! Hey, I'm all for a nana nap when it's needed! Probably something I should try one of these days!

June, have fun when you have your friends over! Will you be sharing the menu with us? Isn't it a great feeling to have done the shopping and know you have the things you need for the meals you need to make?

MizT, I can't remember when I read a book in a day! What fun! What book had you so engrossed? I'm so glad to read that you slept through the night and are feeling better! Good luck in sorting out your summer wardrobe when you have the energy!

Broni, hope you're feeling better after unknowingly eating food with preservatives! How unfortunate (and predictable?) that Dumb forgot to pay the bill for the internet.

CynB, I'm sure it helped to have a bit of a break! It truly sounds like you're doing what's best for Emily! Keep letting her know how much she's loved! I don't consider it a vent, just telling us what you're currently dealing with. Continued good luck!

Tami, sounds like you and your friend had a glorious time!

Rolanda, I'm sending some stronger prayers and more positive vibes for your Mum! I'm not sure I understand why they take her off the oxygen if that's what's causing the heart attacks. For the leg cramps, I have heard of a combination of calcium and magnesium. I was also told to place a small bar of soap between the mattress pad and sheets.

Sorry, but I really must head to bed now. Good night, Everyone!

Happy Easter/Passover etc. It has been a bit of a lazy day when I did have a lot I should have done!
Rolanda, thoughts and prayers are with you. Other than the oxygen is there a long term solution (like bypass) that can be done for your Mum?
MizT,That is how I like to read a book. Pleased you had a good nights sleep afterwards.

Suzy, you can 'rest your eyes' as much as you want. But for you it is not a nanny nap!
We have a bowls day tomorrow afternoon with an Eaterbonnet parade to finish. I have fixed a hat for Hubby but cannot find the patterns to make what I wanted for myself. i will have to get another inspiration.
It will be friends comming back afterward so I will put some diced lamb etc in the slow cooker, when I come home will transfer to large ramikins and top with puff pastry and pop in the oven. I was deciding to use either beef or lamb. With mashed potato and green beans. Then blueberries with cream/cream cheese mixture and filo pastry(it is actually a low fat recipe!).
Everything pre prepared and easy to put together.

Your kidnap adventure sounds great Tami. A good relax for the end ot term.
Thinking of you Cyn. Sometimes it is not easy being parents/grandparents. This is the best place to vent as we all empathise with you.
guess I had better get some washing in and then some dinner.

Howdy all.

Just had a lovely visit from my sister who lives in Sydney. I knew they were coming down for the Easter weekend to see her daughter and grandies, but she and her hubby decided to make an impromptu stop in here along the way. At least it made us spruce the house and ourselves up!
They spent the night in Bright, it breaks up the drive here, and then this morning they stopped in Marysville, where they had their honeymoon, 40 years ago. (Marysville was one of the towns totally devastated in last year's Black Saturday fires)

Evening all!
June, when I'm that tired in the middle of the day I feel old enough to be a nanny! And technically I could be if I'd had my first 10 years earlier.... Actually, she's 17 so I could be a nanna now - yikes! Can I come for that dinner????

Gail 40 years married!! Wow! It would have been hard for them to see Marysville that way.

Well I promised Ally she could have a turn so I had better log off.

Night all!

Julie... The eggs in the incubator are Valley Quail. I'm hoping some of them hatch.
Just had another calf born... a big, healthy heifer. That leaves 2 first timers and Sassy. I am still amazed as to how big around Sassy is! She could roll around the pasture.

Hi everyone. Finally feel well rested. Slept in late today, which is unusual for me.
Cyn, whatever happens, keeping giving Emily the extra love and attention she needs. I have a lot of students that are the same as Emily. One in particular lives with his grandpa. Grandpa doesn't want him either but won't put him out on the street. He is just one of many in the area where I teach. The extra love from you will help.

Rolanda, you and your sister need to be your mom's advocate. Stand up to the doctors and make them listen. I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers.
Don't remember what else I wanted to comment on so I will just wish everyone a wonderful Easter.

We had a family get together Thursday night of my 4 siblings and myself for the first time in about 20 yrs.Had a lovely dinner at brother/SIL's place and took photos.
My eldest brothers 1st wife, recently passed away. She had been extremely isolated from the family, allowing no contact with her or her son, even from her own mother.During the family get together,we all talked to our nephew on the phone whom we haven't seen since he was 2,and he is now 38.His Mum had mental health probs and he always felt he had to be with her.
The nephew was ecstatic to know of the huge family he has and how we always felt one day he would know the truth. He has missed so much of his life dedicating it all to her.
We couldn't have asked for a more enjoyable time that night talking to him and being together.
I must get going.See you next time.

Nola, What a wonderful story! I hope you get to meet one day as well as talk on the phone. I'm now hoping that your nephew will be able to 'live' the rest of his life!

Heidi, I'm always amazed that eggs can hatch in an incubator! For some strange reason it feels like human babies growing without a womb. I know that's illogical....

Tami, I remember one time I woke up and I felt hyper. All energetic and I couldn't sit still. I wondered what was wrong and then burst out laughing when I worked it out - I wasn't tired!

Small town anecdote:
I was walking in town the other day and felt my eyes go out on sticks. I saw this older woman (could be 70s or 80s as people age differently, but she her shoulders were bent over with osteop) dressed in denim coloured tights (jean tights I think they call them), she had a rather trendy jacket with fur edging over the top that didn't quite cover her round little belly. As I looked down to check out what shoes she was wearing with this unusual outfit I noticed - a groin bulge! It was a bloke!

Greetings friends, another lovely day in the neighborhood! VERY low humidity, ohh yes I like that, 80 degrees, breezy sunny, nice spring day!! Can I order up about 60 days worth of days like today please? Throw in a few showers over night to keep things green, now, that sounds wonderful. I wish.

What book was I reading? Fern Michaels "Crown Jewel". About 2 brothers, one with a HUGE secret life, and about the high end resorts they built and ran. I like her books for a fast summer read.

Reading a really good one now about the Lowcountry of South Carolina coast and about sea turtles. very interesting. It is taking a bit longer to read, well, I could not sit and read this one straight through, needed to get some small stuff done. I still am not back to normal energy levels, and I need to be. I must get house in order and cook up a few meals, and get appointment with my doc for a pre op check up, and schedule that hand surgery. It is harder to want to do this now, the hand is nothurting all the time. I am not sure what happened, but for one, it is no longer swollen. Not using it for a week when sick? Swelling was causing pain and swelling went down when de-hydrated? Who knows, but I am glad it does not hurt all the time, but I still do not have use of that thumb and am still in a splint 24/7. I am told it will not get better by itself, and sooner or later this surgery must be done. It was just easier to think of doing it whenn it hurt all the time, does that make sense?

Heido, 7 babies hatched? How wonderful and here for Easter too. spring and a wakening of the plants, birth of baby animals and birds, nice.

Suzy, you sure you were looking at shoes?? hehehe.

Why should the PM apologize to Alabama?? Did I miss something??

Nola, so glad you found your nephew and all your family was there to share together. Here is hoping you have many gatherings where he is included. Sounds like he might need a family now.

TAMI, how many more days on holiday from school?

HI Julie, nice summary. Now what is going on with YOU? We always find out about everyone else in your posts, but not much about what you are doing.

Subject of naps, I have taken them most of my life, whenever I had the chance. Mom said I would go to sleep at school when they made first and second grade children rest with thier head on their desks. I napped on summer vacations as a school girl, usually outside in the shade, cause it was sooo hot, to hot to do anything. I napped as a young Mom when I put my child down for a nap. I napped when I worked hospital, cause I came in very tired and wanted to stay up later than I could if I did not get a nap. After Al and I married, I napped cause I am a morning person and he is a night person. I got up early while he slept in, then had a nap so I could stay up with him nights. Now, I nap our of habit, cause I usually do not get 8 hours at night, and cause I am old enough to take a nap whenever I feel like it hehehe.

What WAS the PM's comment? And if you're going to single out a state for it's redneck population, I'd think it'd be Kentucky, home of the near-fictitious town of Dogpatch, of "Li'l Abner" fame.

Heidi/MizT - apparently RW said Aussies were 'English rednecks' to which our PM, who should have ignored the remark, said RW should 'spend a bit of time in Alabama before he frames comments about anyone being particularly redneck' - so yes, he should apologise to Alabama (I'll bet he's never been there). Ridiculous and unnecessary remark for a PM to make.
I still love Robin Williams and I don't care what he said - FGS - he's a comedian!!!

Tricia, I gave up naps at 15 months old. At 5 I made my mom remove me from camp because I did not want to take a nap. I was finally able to nap when I was pregnant and just after I had Mitchell. Now I appreciate a good nap.

Sorry, Good Morning all.
Busy day today - gninaelc and gnikooc for tomorrow's get-together.
Yesterday afternoon Andrew came to pick up Emily and he had the other 2 girls with him for the next 2 days. Poor thing was exhausted after moving house. After he left, we had a quick dinner and went over to his new house. Lucky we did, he was just beside himself, trying to unpack, feed everyone etc. I told him to sit down for a while, and unpacked his kitchen, found frozen chicken nuggets and chips and cooked them. Meanwhile Colin assembled the beds, we found sheets etc and made them - then told them all to go to bed. Hope he's better this morning - haven't rung, he has friends coming by to help today.

Nola - what a lovely story about your family gathering and re-connecting with your nephew. I too hope he gets to have a life now and meet his large family!
Suzy - that old man/woman - yecchh!
Tami - yep RW can make even a bad movie seem funny - yet he's a great serious actor. Did you ever see him in One Hour Photo - chilling - still creeps me out to think of him in that.

I agree ..... Robin Williams is hysterical, but he's also a very talented actor. I think that little redneck incident needs to be forgotten. Robin's comment wasn't meant to be taken seriously, and the PM proved that he doesn't have a sense of humor. I don't think it should go any further.

Heidi, here is a link that shows Robin Williams comment on the Letterman show that started this and some of the things said by the PM and Alabama's governor.

I googled " Aussie + English Rednecks" and got LOTS of sites. This seems to have made a lot of Aussie and British newspapers. I had not heard about it here.

Good Will Hunting, Dead Poets Society - say no more!

Spent a fortune on stuff for Dana's camp and still don't have it all. Sigh.

Cyn, I bet your son was glad to see you last night!

Heidi, so much to keep track of on a farm...

Well I'm going to confess - Ebob had to start work at 7.30 this morning so I took advantage of the trip over to get some shopping done. Did some more when I had coffee with friends, then a third trip to try to get all the camping gear. Guess what I'm going to do now????

Forgot to add that we have been invaded by tourists so each trip was a game of dodgems, a parking spot was something you found after circling until someone else left, and in the shops patience was needed to the nth degree. Easter seems to be even busier here than Xmas.

Good Evening, Friends!

Hi, June, Gail, Suzy, Heidi, Tami the Troublemaker, Nola, MizTricia, Broni, CynB, and anyone I have missed.

Happy Passover and/or Happy Easter to all!

June, I hope you enjoyed bowls and the Easter bonnet parade, as well as dinner with friends afterwards! Sound yummy!

Gail, how nice that your sister and BIL came for a visit while in the area! How is your other sister doing with her recovery?

Suzy, thank you for sharing the information about the Japanese company's ringtone said to fight hayfever! I'm thinking I won't be downloading it any time soon.

Heidi, congrats on your Valley Quail hatchlings and your new birds, as well as your new heifer calf! I hope they are all doing well!

Rolanda, I hope your Mum is doing better today! Tami is right about being your Mum's advocate!

Tami, I hope your family has had a joyous Passover! Sending along positive vibes for your Dad & Mom!

Nola, your family gathering sounds wonderful, including reconnecting with your nephew, who now has a wonderful family to get to know! Easter blessings to all of you!

Suzy, I half chuckled and half gasped at your little old lady story. Not only in a small town, but harder to blend in! I grew up in a town of 5,000, now about 3,200. I can think of at least one like the person you saw.

MizTricia, thanks for sharing information about the book you read & the one you're reading. It's interesting that you have always been able to nap. I actually laid down today in an attempt to nap, but no luck.

Broni, I'm so glad you are feeling better after a good night's sleep! Continued improvement, young lady!

Heidi, five more cows yet to calve! How exciting! Please be sure to let us know when Sassy calves!

CynB, so sorry (but understandable) to hear that your son was exhausted. I'm glad you were able to go over and help out - and that he had friends coming to help! Wishing him and his girls loads of luck as they get set up in their new place! It's a blessing that Emily has you on her side. Keep up the good, but exhausting, work!

I agree that the PM seems to have blown things out of proportion. Robin Williams is one of our favorites. We had missed the Letterman show the other evening, so I'm going to the site MizT included to see for myself.

Suzy, so much shopping and so little time! Do you have most of what Ebob will need for her excursion?
