...along with the barking that is.
I am not game to try to use any smilies...every time I click on the smilie button the computer hangs. Due to have wipe the hard drive and reinstall everything... what a horrid thought!
I'm out of here now that you have ushered in 2010 safely in your part of the world.

I did the same thing, Bean. The people at the post office kid me about the number of packages I get.

Well, I've just booked my flights for the trip to Adelaide next week. Flying out on Monday and returning on Friday. I wont be with hubby for our 27th wedding anniversary on Thursday, but I think we will cope. We usually remember a couple of days beforehand, then a couple of days after. Like I told Vici, usually remembered late with 'Oh yeah...!' We will celebrate on Saturday date night, much more appropriate anyway.

Good afternoon and HNY 2010 to all you lovely SA people. It seems most of us are into 2010 by now with the west coast of the US being the last. Saw the Sydney fireworks last night - it seems all of us in Oz only got to see the Sydney ones, wonderful though they are, but not our local ones - that would mean extra crews on over-time. Sorry, that's my media whinge for the day!
I am feeling much better today probably because I had so much to do I stopped feeling sorry for myself and got to work packing the Xmas tree and decorations away.

Gail - how thoughtful to visit Bill at such a sad time. Beth will be in my thoughts during her time in Bali, which I hope she is enjoying immensely.
MizT - a replacement bottle of Tylenol is poor recompense for all your discomfort.
Heidi - I could NEVER think of you as a fuddy-duddy!
Suzy - I have also played that game at Melbourne Cup functions - and - we had a Darwin Stubbie in our bar for years before I accidentally on purpose threw it out.
June - glad you got to see the baby even if they left the hospital.
Hi to Julie, Bean, Suzanne, Tami, Lizzy, Judy, Stella etc - I know I've forgotten someone!

8 minutes to New Years on the west coast! Happy New Years guys!
The reason I know that is because we just had a phone call from west coast friends! Yay! They are such good friends that when we left we chose them to look after our doggy - rather than put him in quarantine for months. They have done a wonderful job of that and I often think the doggy chose them.

Bugger - now I've forgotten what I wanted to say... I blame the vice that is wrapped around my temple. It's as good an excuse as any!
Gail, wedding anniversaries are a big deal in this house, but I suspect even with that the type of anniversary you are recognising might push the celebration out a weekend or two.

Bean, it sounds like you also order the barking doorbell's food online!
Cyn, that might be how we ended up with the stubby! Though he still has one...
Tami, the sound at the thingy last night wasn't good and the video doesn't do the songs justice, but I will post it for you anyway. Because I was nervous I was looking for problems with her singing and I do think she could do with a few more lessons on those songs before doing them again. Her teacher however, who was on stage in the wings, said she got goose bumps, so I might be too critical or it might have sounded better without the microphone distortion.

BEAN, my version of MSN does not send messages to anyone not currently online also, just like yours. It also does not recognize or display smilies. and on top of all that, I must remember to turn it on when I turn on computer, something I forget to do.
I did see you on other day, your message said away. Vici was on and said busy, or was it the other way round? thought you two might be chatting away so did not ring either of you.
Suzanne, maybe I am just a fuddy. I almost stayed up till midnight. I think I went to bed at 11:40. I was awake when some neighbor was shotting off a few fireworks.
did anyone notice how much or little traffic was at the fireworks stands this year? Here, they seemed empty most of the time. Not nearly as many of the trailers they sell from were about this year either. I guess people do not have a lot of extra money for buying fireworks. BUT they were all at the ABC store yesterday. That is the state controlled liquor stores here in Alabama, Alabama Beverage Control. Everyone wanting any alcohol except beer buys from ABC, even the retailers who have a license to resell. They all pay same price, so most go to the ABC store where it is cheaper. WE were driving past yesterday and a line was out the door waiting to purchase the holiday cheer!
Cyn, want to come help me pack my trees away? Only one has decorations, the other is just built in lights and it is on the front porch. If I do not get help here today I will pitch a fit, cause tomorrow he is planning on going to church to help take down that tree! I would send him to the dog house for ding that, but he has his doghouse much to comfy ( his office out back in the dome) His excuse is I am too picky how things are packed away and he does not know how I want it. BULL FEATHERS! He could learn, you know? And I am picky for a reason, I do not want my ornaments broken. Heidi, may I borrow your soap box so I can climb gracefully down now?

Happy 2010 everyone! Had a nice quiet New Year's eve celebration last night. Bryana had 2 friends over that she used to go to school with. She'll be heading back to Boston on Monday, so it was nice to spend time with them. Jerry made chicken wings in the freezing garage and I made pizza bagels and mozzerella sticks for the celebration. The girls watched a movie on the big screen down stairs and Ian, Jerry & I had a mini Wii tournament. Nice and relaxing.
Noe getting the last of the preparations done for our family Christmas gathering tomorrow in New Jersey. Everyone will be there except the 3 boys who just moved out to Lake Tahoe. Hopefully next year they'll be able to make it back.
Hope you all had wonderful New Year's celebrations that will carry through 2010.

To everyone. Boys managed to stay up to midnight and celebrate with us. We then sent them to bed and the fell asleep almost instantly.
Mom and Dad are on their way over. I am taking them shopping to buy my dad a new suit for Mitchell's Bar Mitzvah. It is on January 23 and getting close. He is fine, I am a nervous wreck. Just like any other mom, I worry about the kids.
Suzy, will check out the video later. I am sure she did wonderful. Early Happy Anniversary greetings to Gail and Stella. My 16th is coming up later this month.

Here you go, MizT. I don't use it for this any more. IH does the same thing.... doesn't help me, but helps with the tree at the church. I have my own way of dealing with it that causes IH's blood pressure to go thru' the roof. I pay Robert $15 an hour to help me with the tree. IH has a panic attack every time I spend my own money. I tell him that either he helps, or I pay Robert to help. His laziness outweighs his cheapness. He helps with the tree at church so everybody there thinks he's wonderful. I end up looking like the bad guy 'cause I don't appreciate him.

That reminds me of a story that happened a bunch of years ago. IH and I were both going to a meeting. I had to run some errands first so we decided to meet there. I got to the meeting first and IH arrived a few minutes later. He came up to me and loudly told me that he had done all the dishes and cleaned the kitchen. I stared at him wordlessly while all the other women there told him how wonderful he was, how lucky I was to have HIM for my husband and how they wished their husbands were so helpful. I knew he was lying through his teeth and I was not going to give him any praise for it. The general consensus there was that I was ungrateful and didn't appreciate such a wonderful man. When I got home, I was proved right. He hadn't lifted a finger in the kitchen. He got all that praise for doing nothing, and I appeared like the bad guy.

Happy New year to everyone. This is the first chance I have had to get on to the computer since easrly yesterday morning. We had a house to tidy up for a new year party. Had a full house too, 27 of us. Somehow I managed to get the savory food just right, everyone had enough to eat and very little left. Puddings went down well too!
Richard and I got to bed at 2:30 this morning, but managed a long lie in. House didn't take too long to clean up this morning.

Brenda, that would have been the perfect solution, invite people home after that meeting. hehehe
I went back to bed after last post and am just getting up again. I woke starving. Just polished off a plate of sausage and eggs, boy it was good too! I also feel better this morning, hope I do not regret eating sausage, but it was mild, and so far sitting well. I learned many years ago, when after a tummy disorder, I wake starving, eat what it is I am craving. My body is telling me what it needs, and about 95% of the time this works.
Well, hubby promised to come back and help me in the house , after he has a smoke and finishes his breakfast, and working his daily puzzle.
BTW he was on the phone with customer for 2 hours last night. Glad I did not try to wait dinner on him. No order as yet, we will see.

Brenda, I love your suggestion for Heidi's husband. I would have loved to seen his face if she did that. Got dad a suit today. He will pick it up on next week. Pants needed some minor alterations. Still have to find him a shirt. Mom will go out Monday to look. Family is coming over tomorrow to celebrate Chanukah. With my dad being ill, it has taken this long to get together.

Hubby only has 2 more days off work. We are going to a friend's house for dinner tonight. A fun thing to do, but for hubby it is work. I was feeling guitly because he hadn't really got a holiday. Between Mum, Xmas, and Pride we haven't really had time to do nothing - my idea of a perfect holiday. Then I found out that in 2 weeks he has another 2 weeks off! Yay! There are 2 Pride gigs and I am working in the school uniform shop one day, but other than that we should be able to have some quality nothing time...

hehe Tami, I sometimes wonder how long she will sing. Right now she loves it, I hear her singing in her bedroom all the time. Next year she might decide she'd rather do something else. Whatever she does, she will have these memories and the confidence she has gained.

Nobody is talking about new years resolutions. I had decided not to make one because I never keep them, then I changed my mind - my new years resolution is to gain weight and sit around getting unhealthy. Now there's a resolution I would be happy not to keep!

Good morning. Nice to see you all chatting today. My tree is easy to put away. A small fibre optic one! Gave up on real ones some years ago as the hot weather means they only last a few days.
Heidi, Knowing the kitchen would still be a mess I guess you could not take the risk of asking anyone back. It would probably backfire and they would wonder how you could leave it like that (and forget your hubby had said he had cleaned it!)
