A very muggy night last night and the bed was getting hot so got some sleep in the recliner chair! It is overcast but feels like an AC day. Hubby will bowl but I think I will give it a miss. I might even go to the shops or a movie??? Will think about that.

I seem to have been good at turning pages and first to post today. I was a bit naughty and posted first on every puzzle (except the big one) and jigsaw. A long time since I have done that! Not sure what that says about me?????

Good morning lovely SA people - muggy here too June & Suzy. Might be air-con time soon. Got Andrew's girls coming for a sleepover tonight while their father goes on a 'date'!
Suzy - the videos of Ally were great! Hope you and hubby get a better rest on his next few weeks off work.
I'll join in with a little whine about my hubby, who is usually perfect (hehehe). He said to me an hour ago that he was going to the local store, a few minutes away to buy bread and cigs. I was going to have a shower but decided to wait until he got back - he's still not back. He's probably run into someone he knows - that man could win Olympic gold for talking!
Lots more to say but can't remember, hello to all - will be back.

As usual, I've chased everyone away - 2 hours, no posts. Oh well, I'll go shopping so my girls don't go hungry tonight. CU l8r!

Cyn, you didn't chase anyone away. I just didn't have a chance to stop in to say hello.
I am doing some last minute gift wrapping. We are going to see our 2 nephews who are in for a few days. My side is coming over in the afternoon to trade presents. We had to wait for dad to get better. We also had to work around my brother. He owns a jewelry store and works a lot of hours this time of your and his girlfriend celebrates Christmas so that eliminates one of his days off.

Info wanted, Tami. Your brother is dating a gentile? Have times changed? Years ago.... many years ago... my Grandfather (Jewish) married my Grandmother ( a divorced gentile). He was immediately banned from the synagog. For life. He loved my grandmother that much. They were deeply in love all their lives. My grandmother's divorce was a strange one. She was married young. As soon as she became pregnant ... in wedlock... her husband deserted and divorced her. That was his first marriage. He ended up deserting eight (8) wives!

Heidi, they have been together for 30 years and living together for 28. They have just never made it "legal" My brother is not very religious and only goes to synagogue for a Bar Mitzvah or wedding. My synagogue is a little more forgiving. With all the inter-faith marriages, they would rather have mixed families than no families.

We are all welcome to have a winge sometime Cyn. I have one that does exactly the same. Before we had a mobile phone I spent many nights in a panic when he was not home because he had been 'talking' after a meeting. When he gave me a time that he would be home I always added about 2 hours.
I have bben shopping. Taking advantage of the sales I have bought a couple of birthday gifts for later in the year. Then when I got home we had had a shower of rain on the washing I had put out earlier. Bummer!
Enjoy your family reunion Tami. Hope you get some nice gifts.

Oh June - they must be all the same. And I don't like to nag and call him on his mobile too often (tho' he does it to me!) - turned out he decided to go further afield for a part for one of the mowers.

Tami, I went to synagogue with my then boyfriend and was welcomed by the rabbi. It was a liberal synagogue. Just to rub in how old I'm getting I'll work out how long ago that was - 25ish years ago!!
Heidi, I know someone who resembles your grandmothers first husband. I don't know how many times he actually married, but he had one childless marriage, and at least 2 relationships with children. It has been quite uncomfortable because his first wife was one of my close friends, and one of his youngest children is Ally's age and they have been on again off again friends for years. When I first saw him with his daughter at Ally's 6th birthday party I hissed at my husband 'it's evil cheating man!'

Caught up reading again, but not sure I can remember what I read. OK, it is late, and I am medicated, reason enough?
tummy still hurts, a LOT. this will probably seem like a long weekend till I can talk to Doc's nurse Monday. That is the not nice thing about holiday weekends.
June, I had not thought about what the ladies would think of Me if my kitchen was a mess. I guess it is because I do not really care what others think hehehe. That has not always been the case, but when I started with the fibro, I realized I could not keep up previous standards . It was a hard thing to come to grips with, but I managed, and with it came no longer caring what others think of me. It has really been quite liberating.
TAMI, Happy Chanukkah celebration. I think the gathering and traditions are more important than the date, you know? Huumm, my spell check does not like that spelling of it, seem to prefer Hanukkah. Now why are there two spellings?
TAMI,what a grandfather you had there in your grandmother's first husband. How did a guy get away with abandoning so many wives?
Cyn, that did not seem like a whinge to me. Just getting things off your chest in a safe setting. It is something we all need, and I prefer to call it venting. A nice safety valve, if we keep it all bottled up, we will blow a gasket somewhere, sooner or later. Literally. We know we all love, or did once love, our husbands and we put up with their quirks, and they put up with ours too.
Now my husband would be competition for the gold in Olympic talking! He follows visitors to their autos, and talks to them even after they start their cars, leaning in the window. He does not agree with my thoughts, that when someone starts their car, they are ready to leave, a signal to shut up hehehe. I never know when hubby will be back from wherever, and I also add a couple of hours to his ETA. I have given up worrying about him. He is a big boy and has always come home sooner or later, well except once! when we were dating, he was to come over for dinner around 8 pm. when he had not shown up at 10, and did not answer his pager ( before cell phones) I did begin to worry. I gave up at 11 pm and went to bed. Next morning he phoned, he was in hospital and had been unable to phone before then. Just a small explosion in the building where he was working on some copy machines, that luckily blew him away from the fire, but the landing did a bit of damage to bones and stuff.

BEAN, I like your resolution, I think I should join you in that one! I have been AWOL too many times these last few months.
Suzy, what is a dongle?
CYN, I do think they are all the same. Mine would have done that without a second thought about calling me to let me know. I knew when I married him I could not change his ways, but it took me a while to learn to change how I reacted to them.
Well, meds are working and my hicups have gone. Maybe it is time to try the bed again. It sure is nice to have "company" and a nice chat with all of you when I cannot sleep.
Hugs to all, and continued wishes for a prosperous and healthy and happy new year.

So true, MizT - I had to learn how to change my reaction to things Colin did that upset me. Once I did, it has been smooth sailing since - but for those who think that means he's in charge - soooo not true. I guess he's had to adjust to me over the years too, to be honest.

Hi everyone! Had a nice day today - went out to the movies with Rob and D2 - saw Sherlock Holmes, which we enjoyed very much, had take-away for dinner (Noodle Box), then drove Rachel to the airport and said goodbye, after re-arranging her bag a bit - the crystal she picked out for her wedding present was just a LITTLE bit too heavy, but we worked it out.
Home again, and Rob is straight back to his "Farm" - well, at least we have something to talk to each other about! :)

Good morning everyone, chilly here today but bright.
I'm going to have a lazy day today, might even pick up some knitting again.
Nola, keep up with the good work on your studying, if you keep slightly ahead of the work then if you need to have a break you can do so without falling behind.
MizT and Cyn, I think we all change slightly when we get married, we may not notice the changes.

Have you tried going on a 'finch forum' to see if anyone has had the same thing happen? I am not saying that you do not know what you are doing, but sometimes it helps to talk to others who might have had or heard of the same thing.

Heidi, I am so sorry about your finches. I hope you find out what happened so the rest of them stay safe. Indoors, no carbon monoxide... I'd look toward sprays of some kinds, like bug spray. Just a thought.
Nola, you're powering through your course! How far ahead are you already???
MizT, just a small explosion??? Ouch! I guess I would forgive someone for standing me up if they went through that...
The dongle is the thing that looks like a thumb drive and gives us our wireless internet connection. We get better reception if I can stick it out the window. I bring it inside if it looks like rain, but Ally had been using the computer and I had never talked to her about electronics and rain.

Judy, there is something about whatshisface... um... Johnny Depp (hate it when I lose names) that is a little magical and I love Sherlock Homes stories. I can't wait to see that movie too.
