Good Early Evening, Everyone! Should be doing some flinging, but taking a break from the K room for a bit. I only have 5 pages to read if I want to get caught up.
Hi, Gail, Heidi, Theresa, Suzy, MizT, Tami, Vicki and Suzanne (page 504).
WOO HOO! I am SO glad I have read this page! There is WONDERFUL news on it - so reassuring and uplifting!
Heidi, thank you so much for relaying the update from MizT's sister! From the sound of her post, she'd be a great Sudokuaholic!
Theresa, thank you for shouting the good news! Just 6 weeks until your D's surgery. We have to think of a way to keep her and her family healthy until then! Maybe your grandies can keep a small hand sanitizer with them (and use it) while at school? All coughing and sneezing should be done into an elbow; doorknobs, etc. can be sanitized. We don't want anything to get in the way of her surgery! Family celebration must have taken place!
MizT, more celebration with Al home! Hugs to Joy for being there and being a big help! I hope you all are sleeping better now that you're not at the hospital! I guess Al has been home for 2 days now.
Tami and Suzy, the lower flood peak levels, while perhaps only saving hundreds of house, did indeed save houses. That means relief help and money doesn't need to be spread as thin; some lives may have been saved; some families were spared who may turn to neighbors in need and help them.
Vicki, thanks for adding your good news! Karen, the neighbor let you know everyone was fine and your Mum would be able to return to her home!
For those reading my comments, I apologize that I am summarizing old news, but for those who can't get here often (like eaa, Viv, Mama and Suzanne), old news is better than no news.
Gotta head to the K room, but hope to get back later!

I'm having a bit of a brain dead day here today. 28C with 67% humidity might have something to do with it, or it could just be that I have those days sometimes..

I've just read that 6000 volunteers have registered to help with the clean up today. Wow!! I saw pictures of Army guys emptying ruined stuff from a house earlier this morning. Apparently 1200 military will be there helping by early next week. It's incredible how this is coming together!!

A friend has just posted that he is performing on the verandah as a fund raiser for the floods. I asked what verandah where, he answered looking over the bowling green. I still don't know which of the 7 bowling clubs in the area!!

Hi, Everybody! I finally made it back, so these comments go with page 505.
HI, Suzy, CynB, Heidi, Gail, Broni, Brenda, Theresa, Tami, MizTricia and Bobbi!
Suzy, I hope to look at your link after I post this comment.
Cyn, I hadn't seen about flooding in Tasmania. I hope all are well there!
Cyn, why does it NOT surprise me that your brother is the community co-ordinator for his area and helping those affected by the flooding? Good for him - and good for you! I'm so glad you heard how things were going!
Broni, I'm so glad to hear that all of your family is OK. My thoughts and prayers remain with the Queenslanders and those down-river and those dealing with the bush fires and anyone suffering! Makes you wonder what this world is coming to.
Brenda, I'm glad you were able to get your D and her friend back to university safely!
Suzy, it seems like the time is flying! You have made so much progress since your stroke! Good for you!
Bobbi, it's so nice to see you here! You're right - we're all thinking of our Aussie "neighbors!" Continued thought are with all of you!

Well, I've made it to page 506: Hi, Tami, Suzy, Theresa, Heidi, CynB, Suzanne and MizTricia!
Oh, dear, Suzy! It must really be humid if your bread is molding! Yuck! How can you stop it? When we have occasionally had that problem in the past, we would freeze the bread as soon as we got it home. It affected the taste a bit, but at least we could use it from beginning to end of the loaf! I hope your weather gets better soon!
Heidi, what can we say about IH? At least my hubby has learned he ought to ask how things are going in Australia. He even sounds interested and doesn't walk away while I'm answering.
Thoughts going out for those affected by the devastating mud slides in Brazil and anyone affected by the eruption of Mt. Etna! I think the earth needs a {HUG}! What have we done? Maybe a better question is ,"What can we do?"
Cyn, good news about your B's second D's son being OK with his grandparents (your bro & his wife)! Also, it seems like she picked a VERY advantageous time and location to move!
MizT, I hope Al's fever came down! Keeping positive thoughts and prayers going for you two!
Suzy, good for you and cleaning the cupboard! Count it for as many boxes as you like, dear! You're doing great!
Skipping ahead now to page 507: Hi, Suzy, MizTricia, CynB, Tami, Brenda, Broni, Gail, Heidi, Nola and Theresa!
Suzy, another link I need to check before going to bed tonight! Thank you!
MizT, good name for the CCR Monster! I hope it quickly leaves the premises and can't find the way back! I think some kind of monster visits most men when they're sick, even if it's just a cold, so I imagine it's not fun when it strikes! I apologize that I never got a card sent! I hope there won't be a next time!
Cyn, thanks so much for sharing the "feel good" stories! I think we all benefit from them!
Brenda, what a relief that your step-D and family are OK!
MizT, I enjoyed the story of Pretty Boy! Seems like he knows you have a soft spot for cats!
Here's another kitty story: Our neighbors have an exotic-looking cat that spends time outside. First time I saw it, I went to the door to see why our Maxine was looking out the sidelight beside our door so intently on a cold night. I felt bad, but it looked well-fed and I couldn't bring it inside. I later discovered where she "belonged" and found out she hadn't come when called and they'd gone to bed with her outside. Even though they live "kitty-corner" behind us, "Snickers" only came to visit at our front door. I haven't seen her visit since Max died. She may still be dropping by and I don't see her because Max doesn't sit by the sidelight looking out - or maybe she knows that Max is gone. I haven't figured it out yet.
Belated birthday wishes to you, June! Happy Birthday
I hope you had a yummy cake
or at least some
I hope you had a super day!
Nola, I hope all is well

Ran over again, but at least I am now caught up! Here is the rest:
Nola, I hope all is well! I'm so sorry that Bundaberg flooded again! Please take care of yourself!
Thanks for letting us know that Grasshopper is home, Suzy! It must have been nerve-wracking until that happened!
Now reading on page 508: Hi, eaa, Heidi, Theresa, Tami, Suzy, Suzanne, June and Suzy!
eaa, you got another TOPP, and a great one, at that! Thanks for the thought!
Suzanne, prayers and positive thoughts for your friend Leslie!
Tami, thanks for the thank you for summaries. Of course, I must have slipped right past some comments, as I have NO idea what Suzanne is referring to with her comment about the song "Tubthumping" by Chumbawumba. I think I need to reread a few pages!
Oh, my, now I'm reading that June has been in hospital. I guess I really must not be reading carefully, as I had no idea about it. {{{{HUGS}}}}, positive thoughts and prayers to you, June, and to Sharon, who has also not been well! I hope the BBQ for 24 (which should be the least of your worries) went well!
Apparently I'm not the only one who missed about June's hospital visit.

Intermission here, up for a soft drink, and a snack. A hand full of pills. Medicine time for this nasty bug! All 3 of us have different stages if it now. I have the relapse, the "it came back again". So far, it seems to be running through the list of symptoms with amazing speed, and mildly. Many thanks for that!
Al's temp was staying in safe range. Joy has cough. We will survive. Suzy, sing our theme song again please.
BTW, the CCR Monster is not Credence Clearwater Revival (sp?), Stands for Cancer, chemo and Radiation. Gallows Humor that is accepted in hubby's treatment center.
Any one heard from Rolanda? Almost time for her to return? or another week of holiday for her?
Asleep at the wheel now, Huge Hugs by the ton being sent, please airlift some to those flood victims for me.

MizT, sometimes the "adventures along the way" are not all they are cracked up to be. Some adventures we can do without.
Daughter went for her blood tests yesterday in preparation for surgery. Next week I believe it is she goes to donate blood, so if something goes wrong during surgery they can use her own blood for a transfusion.

Update on my family research: I have been in contact, by email, with a woman in Australia. A lot of the pieces fit but we are still trying to find the one that will confirm or deny the link. She emailed me a summary of our discussion. I have 4 cousins who are trying to help and have the most of the family knowledge. They are all older than me an grew up in NY with the stories from the older generation. I spoke to three of the 4 yesterday. So far, it looks like it could be a connection. My cousin in Texas has boxes of old family letters. She is going to look through them for any info that might help. She did find a letter to her dad that came from Melbourne. The problem is that it is written in Hungarian and none of us can translate. Will let you all know as soon as I can confirm if I find that I have Aussie cousins.

Hi everyone: Hope everyone is safe and well, or getting there.
June, did I wish you a Happy Birthday? (Happy Birthday!) :) Sorry you weren't well, but I hope you and Sharon are both feeling much better now.
Spent the day in the garden moving things, pruning, weeding - we had to make sure the air-conditioner is easily reachable for when the repair-men come (whenever that may be!) The garden is looking a lot happier now, and Rob bought take-away for dinner - bonus! Don't know why I'm SO tired now ...
Take care of yourselves everybody. :)

Tami, I don't know our blood types. I used to, but it has been so long since anybody asked me, I've forgotten. But my daughter insists on her OWN blood anyway. Good luck with your family research.
Judy, gardening sure has a way of tiring you out! I won't be doing that for another 4 months at least. I bet you'll sleep like a log.
Grocery day ... yay! Just working on some yrdnual. Submitted applications for two temp agencies yesterday, I think I'll apply for a few more. Then on a daily basis I can see what jobs are available on line through those agencies and hopefully something will come through before too long. Fingers crossed everybody, please!
Suzanne, healing thoughts going to your friend Leslie. This is one scary disease - if I could have one magic wish I think it would be to find a cure for all cancers.
