Someone "egged" the front of our house during the night. Looks like only one egg, so it's not too bad. This is only the second time that has happened in about 25 years, and considering the front of our house is right at the edge of the sidewalk, we can't really complain. But ....

It's snowing quite heavily right now - only 5-10 cm expected. I do find it cold though, -19C with the wind chill. This year I seem to be really minding the cold and I don't know why. Age maybe????

Why would someone do that, Theresa? It sounds like such a stupid thing to do.

June: Glad you are home from the hospital...Get well soon.
Julie: Glad you figured out what I was talking about. Can't remember anything else I read other than something about the Army helping & somebody performing a benefit concert.

Heidi, small things amuse small minds, or so the saying goes. I have a feeling it was probably thrown from a moving vehicle, and at least it wasn't bullets!

My daughter just called and her chest hurts and her breathing is a bit laboured. At some point this morning or early afternoon she wants to go to emergency at the local hospital and I will look after the grandies. She says she feels like she did when she had pneumonia last year. If she hasn't called by early afternoon I will pressure her to go because I definitely want her all better before the surgery date. We don't need it postponed!!!!

Hubby has gone to get the groceries for me (what a sweetie). When he comes back I might have a bit of a nap so that I can look after the grandies for as long as needed and not fall asleep.

June, I'm glad you had a good time on your birthday. I hope you have had a good night's sleep and feel great today..

Theresa, once your D is under they could give her George Bush's blood and she wouldn't know! Only 8 days to go... I agree about getting her to emergency - don't want to take any chances on the surgery. How do you clean egg off your house when it's snowing?

Judy, loved the produce photos - Gail, you ate yours without posting photos??

Theresa, I won't forget our blood types since they got me painful jabs - I'm A -, hubby is B+, Ebob is B+ and Ally is AB-..

Thank goodness the right one posted! In my brag post about not forgetting blood groups I actually had all of the signs back to front. I'd already hit submit when I noticed but changed then and hit submit again anyway - my slow connection came to my rescue!!

I know my blood type also. My mom and I are AB+. I think my husband is B+ but I don't know about the kids. I don't remember ever being told their blood type.

Don't you love it when criminals are dumb? 7 boys between 14 and 17 r@ped a 21yo woman and videoed it with their phones - in the videos she is clearly heard saying 'no'. In the circumstances described they could have argued it was consensual, and probably would have gotten off on reasonable doubt - if they hadn't taped her saying no..

Suzy, hubby just cleaned the egg off with a disinfectant soap - it wasn't a big job.

My D went to the hospital. She has had pneumonia twice in the past. The hospital didn't do anything and didn't want to x-ray her chest, even though she explained that the same thing happened the last two times - they sent her home and she had to come back later. I suspect I'll be going back there after supper. Why can't doctors take patients at their word??? Sometimes patients do know best.

Suzy, her surgery is Feb. 24.

Off to fling food before I get a call to go back and look after the grandies. TTFN.

Theresa, doctors think patients are dumb! If they listened they might learn something.. I hope it all works out. Bugger - 8 days would have been better - I must have had a case of wishful thinking..

There's a new restaurant only a mile and a half from us (nearly 2 5 Kilometers). We just got back from a nice supper there. Tonight they had a buffet with BBQ ribs and fried chicken. I think the entire neighborhood showed up.

Tami, I only know my kid's types because they had to be tested because hubby and I are incompatible types.

Heidi, I think I'd love that buffet. I know Ebob would, she could eat an adult size serving of ribs at 7 years old - and there was nothing of her.

I like this one "Happiness keeps you Sweet, Trials keep you Strong, Sorrows keep you Human, Failures keep you Humble, Success keeps you Glowing But Only Friends Keep You Going" Actually I like them all!

Hubby set up our computer clock to show EST for the US so he can tell what time the footy games are on. Now I know the time range for the US SA people. It's nice to know.

Just got back from my daughter's place. She had gone back to ER. She does not have pneumonia (x-rays were taken this time), but the ER doctor told her to make an appointment with her family doctor to have her gall bladder checked. I am so tired! Just going to grab a soup (didn't have supper) and then go to bed. Somehow soup can't compare with what Heidi had, but it will have to do.

Tomorrow we are supposed to go to the outlaws.

Good afternoon you lovely people, and thanks for the wonderful birthday wishes - I hope to get back to everyone personally in the next few days.
After Andrew's big party yesterday, we had the girls overnight - so glad they've gone now - love them but I just wanted some peace. Off to Karin's later for a BBQ birthday celebration with everyone.
