I held off from posting - I topped the last 3 pages - twice accidentally but I realised we were close this time so I waited. Congrats, Julie.

I have really enjoyed being here with you both, Cyn and Heidi, as it's so much more fun when we can comment on each other's comments! I hope we can do this again!
Unfortunately, I'm going to take leave in a few to watch a bit of TV with hubby. We've had a long and trying and tiring day. I'll pop back in later. G'day, Cyn and Good Evening, Heidi!

A show dog can be shown as long as you want to show it. Chili just lost her looks fairly young. She's 10 now. I had one dog (Kara) who loved the show ring with all her heart. It's all she wanted to do. I kept showing her until a week before she passed away at the age of 13. She won that last show, too. In case anybody is interested, her full name was Ch. My Friend's Crazy Rhythm H.C.. Ch. means Champion, H.C. means Herding Certified.

Wow, Heidi, Kara must have been one classy and smart dog! I assume the Herding Certified is a separate classification that involves trials?

I started showing Collies in 1981, and went to as many as 40 dog shows a year. I actually lost count of the number of Champions I bred. I also produced numerous obedience title holders, several Service dogs for the handicapped and 2 Search And Rescue dogs. I didn't start taking in rescues until about 10 years ago. I stopped showing dogs about 7 years ago. I didn't really have the time, and I lost interest.

Yes, the Herding title involves trials. Her mother was better than she was, both in the show ring and at herding, but didn't enjoy being shown as much. Kara's mother was another of my homebreds. She is pictured in a dog book called Harper's Illustrated Handbook Of The Dog. Misty and her brother Bandit were chosen to represent the Smooth Collie breed.

Heidi - I learn something new and interesting from you every day on here. You amaze me!
But unfortunately, I must off and wrap a few pressies (yes, last minute, I know) then head off to see my Hayley.
Been nice to talk to you too Julie.

Good evening Sudokuland.
I managed 2 sessions in the sewing room today, 1 hours each. Sewing those long strips together to make up that 5 part border is not hard, just takes time.
also had a blood sugar problem, did not eat on time today. This was not fun, but I am still kicking, just not so high tonight. I think it is better now, time to get another Blood sugar reading to see.
bye for now, see you on the flip side.

Anyone surprised about who won American Idol? Kris did not think he deserved it, Adam's family was sure Adam was gonna win, some of the judges looked a bit shocked.

Hi SA8ers!! I went to lunch with my friend Janet today, beautiful day here in Utah, went to an outdoor mall in SLC...Had fun shopping, spent more $$ than I should have, great lunch, lots of giggles...
Don't remember who mentioned the LDS churchwebsite for genaeology (spelling??) but Janet suggested it also. Her husband Arnold is an elder in the church...Will check it out soon.
MizT: Surprised is not the word!! Regarding AI, I almost fell off the couch!! I thought Adam had it, especially after his performance with KISS!!! His vocal range reminds me of Freddie Mercury (anyone else think that??)
Cynthia: Happy birthday to Hayley (sorry if it's late).. My nephew Bret turned 25 on 5/9...I remember when he was that age, it goes SO fast!!! We missed alot of his childhood, because we really didn't stay in close touch over the years... Funny, he doesn't feel badly about it, we lived in California, they live in Washington State...He has grown into a great young man...Enjoy your time with Hayley while she's young, it's so special...
Going to sign off for tonite, TIRED!!!! See you tomorrow, in the a.m. and in the evening (my time) going to SLC with hubby (Thursday trip, lunch, Costco, etc)
TTFN all!!

I don't watch American Idol either, so I really don't know anything about the competitors. (Sorry, MizT and Suzanne, and I think Tami too.)
MizT, maybe you should set an alarm for meals like you did for the first SA. Please remember to take care of yourself!
Good Night to Tami, MizT and Suzanne. Heidi, you had a nap, so maybe not too tired - and Gil not there tonight, I think. Sleep well when you're ready!
I hear hubby snoring and think it's about time for me to call it a night. Good Night, Friends! Stay (or get) well, enjoy your day and then your sleep, and see you all tomorrow!

Good Maen Sudokuland.
Yes, I do need to be more careful eating on time, but with a hubby who does not live by a schedule, it is hard. I had gone to the shop to see when he could be in for dinner, and stayed while he was doing one of his boring tasks. first think I knew it was past dinnertime and I did not have it ready. I consider myself nagged
I am just up and trying to get a wake. I need to get a Blood sugar check fore I have my coffee, will check back later.

Good morning all! Very tired this morning. Drove to see Bryana yesterday. She wanted Subway for lunch and we ate outside because it was a beautiful day. Adam Sandler is filming his new movie in a church next to her soccer field, so we walked over there, but they were on lunch break until 2 and she had to get back to get to the field by 2:15. Here is a link to the story of him filming. www.wickedlocal.com/southborough/archive/x360591871/Adam-Sandler-movie-to-be-filmed-partially-in-Sou thborough The soccer field is behind the church in the picture and her school is across the street from the soccer field. I think a lot of big names are there, David Spade, Kevin James, Selma Hyak and others.

Bryana's team won their last game. She played well and got a hit. I made it back in time for the concert. I had just started when I got there. I didn't realize that it was going to run so late. We didn't get home until 10:30. I missed American Idol. That was the only show I missed all season and it was the finale. I didn't think Adam would win(I like him as a rocker, but he's too specific), but I didn't think Kris would either(I liked him second, he wasn't as consistent). Danny was my pick because he could sing any genre and his voice was perfect every time, but he was voted off last week. I thought the final song they both had to sing on Tuesday that was written by Kara, was terrible. I wanted to find out last night if that was "the" song that was being released. Oh well!

Julie and Heidi, we had not been watching American Idol either, Saw it a few times when other channels were reruns. Happened to notice season finale and watched.
Stella and other fans, Adam is an entertainer, has a wonderful range, and such a powerful voice. Kris is clean cut, nice, easy to listen to. I read that some think Adam was a bit too over the top in his (toned down) rocker costumes, black nail polish, and such. At 3 contestants, Kris and Danny appealed to the same demographic and split votes. when Danny lost, his votes went to Kris.
Now before I read anything about Adam, I noticed last night, when they were onstage, waiting for the " adjudicator" to hand over the envelope, Adam tugged Kris on the arm and they moved stage left, so they were back on camera. I told Al, that guy has stage presence, is aware what is going on, even at a moment like this.
OOOPS,m gotta go, have a humming bird in the house!
Later, hugs,

After bumping into my mirror in bedroom a few times, humming bird must have found his way back outside, I did not see him anywhere inside. WHEW, happy for that. That is my excitement for the morning.
BTW, blood sugar reading is fine this morning, have no idea why it was off yesterday, but whatever it was it happened fast!
I am off to sewing room this morning while room is cool and comfy and while waiting on hubby to awaken. I do hope to get the color-muslin-color part of the border together, for all 3 sides, but that is a lot of sewing, pressing, sewing again. I am slow, with trying to keep it very straight, those color strips finish at 1 inch and they show even small variations up or down from that measurement.

Good Morning/Evening all!
MizT: So glad you are feeling better, I didn't know you had issues with blood sugar...I'm hypoglycemic myself, so I understand about eating at a regular time.
SO happy to have my cuppa coffee this morning. I've mentioned this milk delivery truck that comes around on Thursday morning between 2 & 3 a.m....S.O.B!!! Woke BOTH of us up when our shepherd mix Heidi started barking...Who in the world needs a delivery that early in the morning??? Oh well, I'm looking forward to a nice day with hubby in SLC. Gotta also go to Costco!!
TTFN everyone, have a great day/night!!!

Good morning/evening friends.
Am dropping in without reading - just wanted to let you all know that if I haven't responded to messages I apologize...it's going to be that way for the next couple of weeks for me. I am hip deep in sprinkler systems now that the trenching is in. Outdoors all day and drop dead tired in the evenings. Just wanted to let you all know why I will be a bit MIA.
Hope everyone is well and I'll get my b'day wish to Mama in a bit early.

everybody. Slept in again.... my last chance for a while, methinks. IH will be home in about 4 or 5 hours.
Suzanne... MizT is diabetic. Since it is a relatively new discovery (5-6 months?) some of us nag or show concern.
PLEASE watch that back, Vici. Bending over sprinkler systems is hard on it. Wouldn't it be cheaper than medical bills to have professionals install it?
