First time since before kids that we won't be home for Halloween! Brendan's last home game is tomorrow and we'll be heading down to New Jersey for it. The team is having a Parent/player dinner after it. Poor Ian doesn't get to go trick or treating. I'll have to pick up some after-Halloween-sale candy to make up for it. Meghan just texted me a picture of her in her costume.(Little Red Ridinghood) They're going out to the bars/parties tonight and her place is having a Halloween party tomorrow. She and her friends are very excited about it. So cute!

Wish I was with you all at the party! Say Hi to everyone and have some extra fun for me!

Just a quick note to everyone to have a Happy Halloween if you're celebrating it. Got my treats ready for the kids that call by - otherwise it's TV and cyber-space for me after a roast dinner.

Hi all just checking in and reading everything I have missed.
Flight was uneventful until we landed and got through customs. Richard's cousin wasn't there to meet us as we expected. After waiting 30 mins we decided that we should try and call her. She was ill with sickness and diahoria so we got a taxi from Miami airport to Pompano Beach. We told the driver where we were going and he responded that he knew where to go, which as it turned out he didn't and what made things worse was that he didn't seem to know which way was east. We eventually got here and now everything is going well. Weather is good, hot but not too hot. I have already poluted the sea by having a paddle, but going dwn there in the morning to have a couple of hours at the beach and maybe a swim. Susan seemed to think the water was a bit cold but compared to what we are used to it was a warm bath.
Bean and Vici hope your Halloween party went well.
Suzanne wish Darren a belated birthday from me.

Cyn, I've been given tickets to the Melbourne Cup race day at our local race course. It will be the first time in years that I will get to watch the race (though on a big screen, not the real thing). Up until now I've been picking up the kids from school exactly when the race is on.

And Brenda! So good to hear you have arrived safely. Shame about the bumpy beginning, hope it improves from there! I guess it would have to - the only way from there is up!

To all at the Haunted House and SAers.

Today so far... The Starlight Foundation organised a trip for a whole bunch of kids. Some of them took trains to get to Sydney, the rest were there already. There they were met by a big brass band and red carpet. The carriages were all decked out in spider webs etc for Halloween. They took the train to the end of the line (across a bridge from us) and spent the day there. The fire department, the police and the Navy had cars, trucks and a helicopter there. And then there was US. The lady who organises the girls organised entertainment for the day. 3 girls did a few songs each, a local dance troup did 3 dances at 3 different times, and our girls did their stuff too. The kids seemed to really enjoy themselves! To give you an idea of how the entertainment was received, the father of one of the starlight children owns a fabric warehouse in Sydney and he told us to come up anytime and pick out anything we want for the girl's costumes. It's unlikely that will ever happen, but the sentiment gave me a warm fuzzy...

Ally and a friend are in the lounge room using fabric and pins to make a Halloween costume. They don't want any help, they are just making it up as they go along!

The Starlight Foundation is a wonderful organisation Suzy, as you know. So pleased it went so well.

I wish I had been able to go to Melbourne for tonight's Halloween Party. I did look into the possibility at one stage.

I do have some lollies and a witches hat but I have only seen kiddies come around here a couple of times. Just being prepared!

HEIDI, so good to see you posting, are you feeling better now? I had one of the spinal pain blocks, no problem going to sleep or waling up, at least I have found one short turm anesthesia I can use. Now I have a second scheduled for a the 11th I think it is.

Suzy, sounds the girls are keeping very busy with the singing. what a nice gesture, the offer of fabric. It would have been nicer if he just sent you a bolt of fancy fabric for the girls!

Enjoying my new tub/shower and floors in my bathroom. Had one glitch. I was getting ready to go to dermatologist on Wednesday. al was not home of course when the shower malfunctioned. Water ws showering down, then it was gone! I could hear it running, but . . OH NO, it had to be running inside the wall! I flipped the lever to divert water to tub, and there was water again. I had to have a sit down tub bath, and I am not so graceful getting in and out. Hurt the back again in the attempt. some connection came loose, He repaired that while I was at doc, no wet carpet in bedroom. could have been worse.

I am waiting test on another biopsy and lab tests. I did not expect the biopsy, was there for another problem, hair falling out, but he took a look and of course the knife hapy doc found something to biopsy! He said it did not look like skin cancer, but since he did not know what it was, best be safe.

Al and I are supposed to go to a halloween get together at his friend's church tonight. He volunteered a cake, guess who gets to make it? We do not have trick or treaters here, so the church is having trunk or treat, where children can drop by and visit each auto. Very small church and this has not been advertised, do not expect a lot of people.

OK, laundry calls, to rainy to hang out, I am only doing a couple loads. Undies will go to dryer, others can hang in the second bath till dry.

Thanks Tricia. Glad you were able to stop the water getting into the walls. Once to have to rebuild the bathroom was enough.

Hello everyone. I hope the party last night went well. I wish I could have been there. Amber is going trick or treating with 3 girls from the states. Then we go watch the fireworks at 7:30 on the beach.There is a retired couple at the bottom of our road we always stop at before we meet up with our friends. Amber is the only trick or treater they get and they always give her lots of treats. They look forward to seeing her every year.

MizT, that was a close call with the bathroom! Glad it turned out okay in the end. I hope the biopsy results come back clear. Did the doc have any suggestions about the problem you actually went to see him about? I love the sound of the trunk or treat!
