Oh so that is the plan Heidi, so I unintentionally helped you not to get a TOPP Is this a competition on the whole of SA7 or just something you want to do/or not as the case maybe

My own thing. I couldn't do the one extreme, so why not try for the other?

STELA, you shared photos of that card tree with me lst year and I remember, I think that is the neatest thing, let your kids have something from home that is portable hehe

BRENDA, those crystals are all great, but some I like much better than others. I love the poinsettias, for some reasons I am drawn to 5 and 6 sided shapes, I think it is cause geodesic domes are made from pentagons and hexagons. Or maybe it is the other way around hehehe so many of the ancient symbols in most religions are based on these shapes.

Now, Bean, we gotta invite Tami to join us decorating trees! Says she loves playing with all the pretty shiny things!! I think it is OK to share that, and if not, our little trouble maker will get me for it. I think her name is well deserved

Heidi, I agree with you, Tami seems one brave and together lady. OK, maybe not a SOUTHERN lady hehe, and she has an accent. I could tell if it were her in the dark if she uttered just one certain word hehehe, But I would choose her for my side in a paint ball game! and we would beat the pants off the rest of them, even if we never had seen a derned paint gun before!

ahh, brends, do not mind that noone is around, just pick a subject and expound on it.

Oh Heidi, have you met Tami yet? I believe, but do not quote me on this, that Tami might have a competitive side too. Just an idea of mind, you know.

Tami, most enjoyed out chat and so glad your car is going to be ready.

I am happy to announce I am not longer the most talkative person on the board. Not even close. No Names being called though. I have met my better and concede.

I thought I had said that Stella had the biggest tree last year, but cannot find the post. so if she is going to put it up by herself, we all need to go and help her! she showed us a photo last year.

Morning all!

Broni – the lawn mower didn’t get in! He’s at the back fence right now saying ‘isn’t it time to let me into the lush green pasture?’

Bean – you got brain fart down to a tee! Perfect definition! Can’t wait to see a pic of your tree. Ours is big too. We usually leave at least the bottom level off so we have room to walk around it! We have lots of blue and purple decorations, and lots of kiddie made ones. Not very elegant, but soooo many memories!

I’ve been thinking about my carbon footprint and lights on my tree – I figure I will turn them off earlier.

Stella – I like your tradition! Try tears – ‘waaa, my kids are growing up and won’t help me with decorating anymore, waaa, what is happening to the christmas spririt? – waaa’ Maybe that will guilt Ian into helping! What a great idea for the kids dorm walls!! I’ll have to remember that for when my kids go to Uni!

How do you rest the ball of your foot? Only by resting your entire body or using crutches I guess. Hope it gets better soon!

I like all the christmas ones crystals, but the ones I collect are the big ones with the year attached. These are only available for a few months at this time of year so are collectors pieces. I have a few which are now changing hands for nearly £200 on ebay.

Car update: not only did they smash the window, they smashed three other windows to smithereens and sratched two more. there is also some minor scratches on the car. Spoke to the principal of the school today. he is very upset by what happened at his school. He told me that one of his administrators has a blue minivan also and he thinks they were going after her car, mine just happened to be there. Hopefully they will catch the little darlings. If they do, I WILL press charges.

I answered a question of Suzy's and cannot find it on the board, so this might be a repeat.

SUZY, I made the ornament you saw, I made over 100 for last ( insert C word here) and almost that many before. A friend was wanting to recycle her old good quality costume jewelry, she was not wearing it. I let her toss them my way! I bought other old jewlery at thrift stores, and bought beads everywhere. Cheap, free or pricey, did not matter as long as they would make a ornament that would look good from a galloping horse.

I made a stab at the tons of leaves in the yard and lawn...so many more yet to come down.
Now I'm all cleaned up and in my jammies...heading off to have dinner and watch a movie with Mike here in a few.
I hope to be back up and trying to connect with you all in a few hours.
SO BUMMED that I missed everyone.

Just missed me Vici. I'm just home from Ally's high school orientation. I asked her what she liked best - she said the name tags! Sigh.

There was a mother there obviously stressing over the quality of her son's education and she was asking me all sorts of questions! I happened to know most of the answers because: I have an older child at the school; I did 4 weeks practicuum there; and I did some research. But what made her think I would know in the first place? I must have a 'know-all' sign on my forehead!

Suzy, sounds about right. Teachers, even future teachers, get a look that says, "ask me anything, I know it all."

Tami, I don't know about in the US, but in Oz being a know-all or a know-it-all is not a good thing! Related to smart alec!

People think teachers know everything. Students know that teachers are stupid and no nothing and that the students, especially teenagers, know absolutely everything.

That sounds about right!

Ebob actually ran up to me calling out 'Mum' and gave me a big hug. For a 15 year old she is very good at not worrying about what other people think! Ally will be a whole different experience.... I'm wondering what came first - the caring too much what people think or the bullying???
