Hey Cyn - its the same at my work, you see the residents on a day like this, with a cardy on.
well I suppose they are just sitting around most of the time, and the elderly also as a general rule have poor circulation.

Good morning all. I'm having a play with my husband's new notebook computer just to see if I like the size of the keyboard.

If I like it then I may be getting one for my birthday next month. It has a built in webcamera so I would be able to join in and 'meet' you all face to face.

That was Mum's 60th. I thought it was a lot later than that but it was back in '86!

We have had a lovely evening. We went to the Opening of the Australian Youth Olympic Festival.
A miniture version of an opening ceremony in the Sydney Entertainment Centre. There was some great dancing and singing , all by school children. Daughter Belinda had some of her students dancing. There are 23 invited nations, 17 sports and 1550 athletes participating.
A warm night in the city ans afterwards we went to China Town and sat in the street for some dinner. Then drove through the City and home over the Harbour Bridge. Have not done all that for a long time.

Good Maen SA7!
Brenda - so sorry to hear about your roof woes - I, too, hope your home owners insurance will pay for the repair. I know with our place, it's just an ongoing project. Mike loves the movie "The Money Pit" because he really relates.

Oh Lizzy! I'm miserable in heat, too. We've been having our usual January "false Spring" here and it's bumming me out. All the snow is almost melted and all those 900 bulbs I planted are starting to sprout.
If they come up too far and it freezes again (which it will), they won't flower for me...

Broni - thanks for the well wishes regarding my back...it was nice to have someone acknowledge a post of mine.
I hope your aches and pains are easing as you move through your week - I'm afraid I'm still on my back meds and will continue through the week - I'm doing heavy digging out in the yard today.

MORNING VICI! I am up now, had a sleep in today. I am sleeping lots later than I did for a while and therefore missing so many friends on here.

Yes, I also want to know, what heavy digging are you doing? And how are you missing out on the arctic air mass that is invading the USA? It is very cold this morning and getting to the ridiculous the next 2 nights!

Hey topsiders! ...and thanks for asking about the back - but it is much easier on me to do the digging that needs getting done when the earth is soft from rain and snow right now. I do little bits at a time - that is how I manage with a tender back (that and anti-inflamatory meds)
