Ahhhh, I am happy, the wind has stopped, no wind chill factor, and clouds came in. It was like pulling a blanker up over this section of mother earth. the temp has not dropped one degree since before sundown! My house has at last gotten warm again. Furnace even got to shut off for a little rest.

Afternoon SA7.
Supposed to have a family get together this evening for my nieces 35th birthday.
She is expecting her first baby on March 21st.
Well she was, last night she got flown to John Hunter Hospital, she has toxaemia. They stabilised the blood pressure but this morning her kidneys have gone haywire and we are just
waiting news on whether they are going to take the baby. 10 weeks is a bit premmie.
Family is still coming over though at this stage.

VIV, HUGS to you and your niece. I know you all are concerned about them both now. I do hope the docs can buy some time for the baby. Please tell your niece it is not her fault! I pray with you that the pregnancy can be prolonged, hopefully to at 32 weeks or more, but at the moment every day they can buy for that baby is golden.

They are miracle workers these days with pregs and premmies.
Your family are in my thoughts, Viv.
And so the circle of life keeps turning.

Hi, Vivacious Viv! Prayers for your niece and her baby. Our daughter developed toxemia with her first. Fortunately, it improved and she was able to make it a couple more weeks. I hope for the same for your niece.

Hi Viv! Thinking of your niece - sending positive vibes. Gail is right, they can do amazing things for babies nowadays, but they also have the mother's health to think of - it's a difficult balancing act. Hope all goes well for them both.

Hi Girls. Thanks for all the positive thoughts.
Haven't heard one way or the other yet but should do soon.
We have gone ahead as planned with the family get together. It does not help that her mother barely speaks to the nieces partner.
She thinks we should not either but I do not agree with that.

You go Viv, don't let anyone tell you what to think.
Tonight, of all nights, that sort of pettiness should be put aside. Only positive vibes allowed.
You are doing the right thing going ahead with the plans, there is nothing worse than just sitting around, waiting for news.

Oh Viv, how scary. I really hope your niece is all right. Toxemia. Kidneys. All very serious stuff. Everyone here is right... this is not the tome for petty squabbles, your niece and her partner both need everyones live and support.

Sharon and Laura came for the day. sharon had a sleep and I spent half of the day in the wardrobe. "Come into my house Grandma. Isn't it beautiful? Look up at the unicorns!", "What would you like to eat?" Good imagination and lots of pretend.
She then saw the small cook book beside the computer that I had got out to give Suzy the info on SR flour. "What is this book" when told that is was a book to tell how to cook things she decided we could make cup cakes. We made them, iced and she put faces with cherries, sultanas and lemon rind. Asked if she was going to eat one "I do not like cakes"
The fun of being a grandmother!
They have gone home, hubby home from bowls and I suppose I have to clean up the K room and get something to eat! A woman's ffuts is never done!

Afternoon all! I love it that posts were removed and put Heidi in TOPP position! Tami, when that happened when I was doing the count I left the spreadsheet in its 'original' state and counted it the way it was before the posts were removed - at the request of the person who got them removed...

Glad to see Pot and Kettle EVENTUALLY showed their faces in here. Shopping? Sounds like a cover story to me!
June, that sounds like hard work to me... though fun too. Laura's imagination is beautiful. The cake story would be funny - until I stood on the scales, because of course someone has to eat them!!!

MizTricia, glad to hear the weather is better. We had a great weather day today - not too hot and not too cold. Which is just as well as we have been to a teenagers' birthday party at the beach. The twins very generously changed the party from tomorrow to today so Ally could go. Ally has to sing tomorrow. A small part, but good experience. I'll put up a couple of photos from today.

Gail, I have only been once other than for perishables and urgent things (like TP and dog food). Just can't face the shops with all the tourists around!
I have one who won't eat the icing...
I just uploaded a couple of photos from today, only to manage to have them go in twice! Wonder how I did that?? My connection is fairly slow so it took me forever to fix it - I am not impressed.

When we had our first beloved child we were very idealistic - we NEVER gave our littlie anything "un-natural" - no cakes, biscuits, chocolate, etc. We figured she was just as happy with a piece of fruit - and I think she was. Her first taste of cake was on her first birthday - a sponge with cream on top. She spent ages licking the cream off her piece, barely touched the cake itself. To this day she can't eat much cream - think we put her off completely! But if she ever gets chocolates or lollies she will put them on a shelf and eat ONE a day!

Laura does not like chocolate very much either. She does love fruit though! And ice. She crunched her way through a whole tray of ice cubes today!
I have just been trying to thank everyone for my birthday greetings. It was wonderful getting greetings from all around the world. There were about 40 on my pages. Still a few left to do tomorrow.

We made about 2 1/2 dozen small cakes. But I sent most of them home for her father to eat. I did not need them adding to my non existant waist line.

My son has a friend here - I think they'll be heading off to the city soon, but they're whiling away the time with some music... Yes, the old piano accordian has come out! And no, they're not drunk (yet!)It amazes me all the different types of music that boy plays!

Thank you Judy, I did have a nice day. We went to lunch and Laura thought she should have her own 1/2 lobster! She onle eats a small amount so I shared 'hers' with me. I prefer lobster with melted butter than Mornay and only ordered it because Laura had been to this place before and decided she likes 'lobster'. They are only small but charge $19 for a half.so quite affordable.

Mmmm, I love little cakes! My favourites are butterfly cakes, but they're rather fiddly to make. I'm inordinately fond of cream, I must admit! Have to stick to "light" cream nowadays, though - my waistline doesn't need any more expanding!
