Hi, Everyone! We had a long day, starting with almost 90 minutes at the vet - just our weekly/every 10 days fluids for the cat. Seems everyone and their pets decided to go to the vet this morning. As soon as we got home with the cat, we let her out of the carrier and climbed back in the car to try to be in Chicago at D's apartment by noon. We actually got there in just under an hour. D and SIL are moving about a block & will still be in Chicago. Left Chicago about 9:45 p.m. with most of the planned activities completed and brought the dog home with us for a 'vacation.' When we take her back, she will be going to the new (to them) condo, not back to their apartment. They still have quite a bit of packing, but didn't want me to do it, so I mostly lavished attention on the dog today, which they haven't had much time to do with their hectic schedules.

Sending positive thoughts, healing vibes, and prayers especially to Mama and her sister, June, Suzy, MizT, Heidi and her BIL and Gil, and all others who would benefit! Also sending {{{{{HUGS & JUGS}}}}} and . Please take care, everyone!

Heidi, I can't wait to hear how your stall went! I'm glad to hear your BIL is doing better.

Mamacita, gentle hugs! I hope whatever is giving you pain is dealt with soon.

MizT, I love hearing about your gardening. I even bought a couple of lavender plants today, inspired by you.

June, I have some weeds to pull too. I'm slowly getting to each little job. A bit slower since the test. I don't have results yet. I had it done 4.30 on Friday afternoon and they email results so nothing for me to see. Before the test it would hurt if I did the wrong thing, but would be okay in a minute or two. Now it aches almost all the time and Really hurts when I do the wrong thing. And I seem to keep doing the wrong thing.

So we're having dinner, Tahli ate early so she's wandering around, Daniel crawled his way out to chat with us. He has a funny crawl, he reaches forward and kind of slides while pushing with his feet. Tahli took the hammer he was playing with and ran away. Daniel chased her! Reach, slide, reach slide, reach slide, reach slide....

Have you ever thrown a party and nobody came? The organizers of the festival (South Oldham Lions Club) went all out with multiple live bands, a sock hop, car show, rides and games for the kids, all kinds of booths, etc. The place was like a ghost town. Only a few stragglers came through, and they didn't want to spend money. I only sold 2 necklaces, both at half the price the materials cost me. And I did better than the booths around me. It was a disaster. And it was bloody hot. Thank goodness for the RV. We took turns spending time in there in the AC. My back is killing me today, to add injury to insult. So back to bed.
BTW.... my friend Debbie took pictures of the booth. I'll try to share one or two if she shares them with me.

Oh what a shame Heidi. After all your hard work preparing for the event. What was the problem? Did they advertise it properly or was there some sporting activity going on that people didn't want to miss.

Massive advertisement. This was far from the first time this festival was held on this date, too, with huge crowds every previous year. All of the Lions I talked to were baffled. It was like holding a county fair and nobody came. I'm now thinking on other options. There is an Artisan Center in Berea, on I-75, that might sell them on consignment. They get millions of visitors a year. Or I might try something else. But I never want to spend a whole day in a booth, with no buyers, again.

Hi, Everyone!

Suzy, I hope you're able to get a movie of Daniel crawling! It must be so cute to watch! I hope the pain will miraculously disappear! How awful to have to wait so long for results while the pain worsens and you don't even know what is causing it.

Heidi, it's a real puzzle that the festival went so poorly! There must be an explanation. Hopefully some detective work will find it. How frustrating for you - and after all your work!

Our 'grand dog' has had a good day today and is a real sweetie. Unfortunately, my eyes are extremely itch and tear-y. Maybe I haven't been diligent enough today about washing my hands? I will definitely be taking my allergy medicine tonight!

I'm having a hard time staying awake, so I will call it a night. Sending lots of positive thoughts, prayers, {{{{{HUGS & JUGS}}}}}, healing vibes, and for everyone!

So I was feeling sorry for myself because I haven't heard from the doc yet when my cousin's wife posted. Not feeling sorry for myself anymore....

She posted that she is feeling happy. It's been a long time coming, but she is finally down to 7 holes in her heart!

She has a treatment that she can only get in Melbourne, she is a kiwi and they actually paid for her to come over here for treatment. The treatment is apparently like going through labor 3 times, and she has it most days of the week... She started with more than 20 and a doctors file full of 'overprotective mother' 'hypochondriac' etc etc

Suzy, I hope you hear from the Dr. soon. When I had all my tests, if I waited 10 minutes or so thy gave me the X-rays and two copies of the report and also faxed a copy of the report to the Dr. The nuclear bone tests I had to wait an hour or so to pick it up. I have had to keep all the E-rays and reports and take them to each person I have seen.
It is fun watching grandchildren.

Hi Everyone... Well, I suffered through the weekend with my legs hurting, but was able to see my doctor this afternoon. She has scheduled me for an ultrasound, but I'm not sure when , but she doesn't think my problem is DVT as I had thought, since both legs are affected and the swelling goes down almost completely overnight. For now I'm to elevate legs over heart and flex feet when sitting. In addition, if taking pain relief, take it with food.Pain should diminish but no time set for that...so fairly good report...the proof will come with the ultrasound though.
So sorry that so much preparation was to no avail Heidi...I do hope your back responds to the rest and you are able to sell the jewelry on
consignment soon.
Julie, hope things continue to look up for you and the allergies don't get you.
Susie, I too think a video of the crawling Daniel would be fun to watch...hope we get the
opportunity.
June, I agree that the topp was a really good one.
Okay folks...off to explore while I can...Daughter will be coming over soon to use my computer for research...seems hers keeps breaking down...See you all when I se you...take care and know that I care. Peace.

Heidi, I have not been down to check mail and package delivery since mail was delivered this afternoon. Packages are not delivered to our door here, but to a central location on first floor of building 1. Envelopes and small packages go to our mailbox in lobby of first floor in building 2. I will try to get down and see. You are so sweet to send something for my birthday, thank you so very much!

Kind of a bad day today, I have been in bed way more than out, and asleep more than awake today. Not sure what caused this flare, just hope it is gone soon.

Tomorrow I must water the back garden if we do not get rain overnight. Today I set up the new hose the Residents Association bought, after I watered the seedlings of Cleome out by the alley. I got too hot and ran out of energy before getting the new soaker hose in place. Looks better with no hose across the lawn, but tucked back into the shrubs. I even relocated the hose that goes over the garden wall for the two tiny veggie gardens Ya think all the hose moving might have something to do with my achies today??

Anyone remember me talking about getting my power chair stuck in a pot hole on 11th Avenue, when I was coming home from pain clinic back in the winter? Well, today they scraped all the old asphalt, and tomorrow they should repave it. Yeah Shannon! She phoned our local councilwoman and made a request. The district had some funds for paving and our road was added to those being paved. It was noisy today, glad my apartment is not facing that road, but on the inside facing parking lot.

A second resident had a problem with crossing that road, she stepped into a pot hole and fell. Shannon was about ready to take the two of us to be interviewed for the local news, when we heard we would get the road repaired.

Yesterday I was asked about being in charge of a plant sale in conjunction with our fall festival of values. I said I would think about it. I have thought. I really would like to do this, but today taught me that there are too many days I am not available for meetings and such. I will have to decline. I really would like to do this, and when I am not hurting I think, sure, I can do this. I will instead work with the committee, but if I am unable to attend meetings, someone can relay any message I have to offer. Doing the garden is working well for me because I do not have to do anything at a pre-appointed time. I can wait till I am feeling OK, only occasionally do I have to go water a few things when I am not feeling well. I have most of that set up to be an easy job now.

Back to bed for me, I am feeling yuck and am wet with perspiration. Bed is best place for me at the moment. I will catch up on comments soon. Hugs to each of you with extras.

OH HEIDI, thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU!!!

Package was safely in my mail box when I went down to check mail. I had hoped to see one of the necklaces you made, and now I am the proud owner of one! I love the carved rose, and I had no pink jewelry, although I have several things I can wear this pink rose with. It is just beautiful! The magnetic clasp makes it so easy to get on and off also. I have added magnetic clasps to many of my necklaces, but this is the only one I have where it was MADE with magnetic clasp. Wonderful idea.

Again, thank you so very much, I will think of you every time I see this. Huge Hugs dear friend!

The rose and the larger beads are made of Peruvian Opal. The smaller beads are either Aventurine or agate. I don't remember which I used. I think it was Aventurine, a type of multi-colored jade.

A windy day here. I was pleased I was not bowling. I spent the morning making some cakes for the trading table, then had lunch with the players.
I will stay home tomorrow and hopefully some ironing. We are taking Laura away for a few days in the school holidays so I need to make sure I have clothes ready to pack. It is also Belinda's birthday but we will not get to see her till later next week. I have bought her two apricot trees for her yard. The last one was old and a bit rotten in places and the wind then a horse knocked it over.
How did you survive the wind Suzy?
That necklace sounds lovely Tricia. You are a lucky lady.

Yesterday I took a cow to the Vet's who had stepped on something, and gotten a nasty cut between the toes. She was also starting to develop pink-eye. We were unable to catch another cow that had pink-eye in both eyes. IH kept scaring her. We're going to try a different strategy in half an hour. I believe that she needs other cows around her to calm her down and act as seeing-eye cows. As soon as we catch her, and get her in the barn, we call the Vet Clinic, schedule an appointment, and I bring her in.

We still have wind June. It's freezing!

Be careful ironing! It will probably set your shoulders off.

Speaking of cows, Alie just told me a story from Ag. She was in a paddock, with classmates I assume, when a bull starting running (?) toward her. Her Ag teacher said don't show fear. She stood still but shaking, and it kept running. It stopped about a foot away from her, snorted at her and walked off. I would have needed a change of clothing.

I do not think I could have stood as still as Alie. We had a very tame bull called cuddles (not sure why). Even so I always like to think there was a fence of some sort between us before I would pat him.

We might get some rain from this t storm headed toward us, if it does not rain itself out in the next 15-30 minuets. I do hope it rains. My in ground flowers need it, and I am not able today to go water.

Not sure what is wrong, just my entire abdomen hurts. Not my regular aches and pains, something in the belly with pains radiating to back. Pain meds almost help, that and bed rest. I am also freezing or else sweating. If a day of rest and liquids does not help, I will be phoning doc tomorrow. Not fun.

Cross fingers we get rain, please. Hugs to each of you with extras, till later.

The blind cow was finally caught, with the whole herd, this evening. At 8:00 am, we have a crew coming, and we're gonna deworm the whole herd and put fly tags in them. The blind cow will be isolated and taken to the Vet clinic by me.

I spent the day in bed with nausea and a screaming back. I figure I can only improve tomorrow.

I'm SO happy that you like the necklace, MizT. I thought you would enjoy a flower that stayed in bloom all the time, without watering.

I need to feed and water the birds, then off to bed. Byeeeeee

Hi everyone.
As usual, I have enjoyed reading all of your news.
Just such a nuisence to loose a long post if I take my time. So, Greg will help.
As we get older, pain seems to be a problem with many of us. Hope Heidi, June,Tricia,Mama,Suzy, Julie, are all are feeling better soon.
June...You must go two steps forward and then one back with your shoulders and arms. I hope you have a lovely belated birthday with Belinda and Laura has a great time during the school holidays.
Heidi...Any baby on the way yet? Very sorry for the huge effort travelling and making the jewelry, and not having the chance to show your wares to crowds of people.
Suzy...your whole family, have had a a rough trot with Drs visits recently.Wishing a good outcome. Alie was very brave to hold still with the bull coming at her. I wouldn't be so calm.
Mizt...I love reading about your garden and things you are doing in it. Greg and I finally finished the big area we were mulching, and only have a small rose garden to complete. There is plenty of mulch left over so we have offered it to both the kids, if they want some. Now I have to replant some of the ones I potted up to keep.
Julie....with any luck, you are now able to sleep back in your own bed with the cpap machine. Enjoy all your activities of music etc. How nice, that your daughters dog will spend some quality time with you and miss the hectic removal. When he/she returns, it will be just like home again.
Mama...it is probably good news that you don't have DVT, and hopefully the problem is something easily fixed. Continued good wishes to you and those close to you,who need prayers.
Brenda...By now, you should be getting some lovely spring weather and can get out in the car. The weather where I am has been gorgeous, but Sydney and Melbourne have had gale force winds. What I think is cold, would be laughable to many here on the site. Living in the sub-tropics,we are spoilt by very mild conditions.
I worked a half day at the clinic today, 2 days last week. Declined a days at the Nursing Home as brother and SIL were here from Gosford. We went out for dinner at a steak house and had a lovely meal. Gregs brother is still touring the US on his bike,in West Yellowstone Idaho now. He absolutely loves it.
Catch you another day. Take care!

I did get some ironing and a few other things done. Also watered the garden as the winds were drying everything out.
Tomorrow I get squished. I will do same shopping at the same time as the van is near a large shopping centre.
We have survived all the winds. There are some large trees well to the west of us and they do help as a slight wind break. Spoke to Belinda a couple of times on the phone. She is over an hours drive from here and she worked so no way to visit her on her birthday. It is hard knowing she is spending her birthday by herself.
Hope you feel better soon Tricia. Not nice having unknown pains.
Nola, that mulching sounds like a lot of hard work but worth it to keep the weeds down. How nice to be able to say no to work when you have visitors.
Heidi, I do hope that you are able to separate the pink eye from the rest of your herd. I remember having to catch calves to treat it.

Good Day All...
Very humid today and slightly overcast...but other than not being pretty, today is a good one for me. At the moment I'm pain free and boy is that a good thing. I had my ultrasound on my legs and the person taking the test said it looked very good to her, and she didn't see any blood clots, but I'd hear from my doctor soon. This agrees with what my doctor thought would happen so that's wonderful.
I hadn't eaten since I had overslept and had to rush to get to the hospital on time for the test. I had taken a pain pill before going to bed late and had a great night's sleep...so am feeling rested from that too. My sister is regaining her strength slowly, but surely...so all in all...life is good here. And I am so happy to be able to share feeling good for a change.
Tricia, I do hope whatever you are currently going through is soon behind you. It seems as if we take two steps forward and at least a half step backwards too often. June, glad you were able to get some ironing done. I too need to do the same thing, but I'm too content at the moment to think of pushing myself into something I dislike. Wish I had your discipline. Sorry Belinda had to spend her birthday alone, but do hope she will enjoy a celebration whenever you all are able to get together knowing how much she is loved. Nola, good to see you able to post a long one and not lose it this time around. Seems as if you are not only picking up a few days work when you want, but are able to enjoy company and social times with family too...It must feel good after not being able to have time to enjoy meals out and entertaining when you wanted due to work, so keep enjoying those experiences now. Suzy, hoping you are experiencing better weather... It's hard when it becomes so cold and high winds add to the discomfort. Stay warm and think about those days when you were uncomfortable due to the very hot temperatures...perhaps the image will get you past your discomfort sooner. I know it's easier said than done. Good progress has been made regarding some of your workload Julie...well done. Hope you are now able to sleep with comfort and perhaps even in your own bed again. Brenda, I've meant to let you know how I enjoy your get-a ways through the pictures and Richard's insights on T.H.O. It's so nice to be able to travel like the two of you do...It adds so much to life's enjoyment. Good onya as our Ozzie friends say. Heidi, prayers for a decrease in your back pain, but I still am in awe with how much you get done in spite of the suffering...you are one lady that does what must be done and many a times at great pain to yourself when many of us just give up. I wish for you a few pain free periods like the one I'm currently experiencing....That wish is also one I send to all of you...As someone mentioned, we've seemed to have reached a period where we undergo far too much pain and it takes its toll both physically and mentally.Peace to you all.

Heidi, is your back pain the usual kind for you, or is it coming from the tummy, like mine? I thought I was over the worst of my tummy bout, and was hungry for first time in 2 or 3 days. I cooked and ate some eggs and toast. tummy was not happy with that, tummy pains returned within minuets, bummer. Back to liquids for me. I have been told there is a nasty stomach virus going round, that would explain lot.

I did get out and turn on the soaker hoses, It has been 15 days with no rain, and this is my second watering. Then all the containers, for good measure. In ground should be good for another week, containers for another couple of days. Would you believe I still have panies blooming? It is way past time for them to demise with the heat and the dry. Only thing I can figure keeping them going, they are in huge containers and I give them a gallon of water each every couple days.

The cleome seed are sprouting, some of them have second leaves now. Of course they came up in clumps, with bare spaces between, but when they grow a bit, and give other slower seeds a chance too, I can thin and move to the bare areas.

Back to bed for me, I have suddenly broke out in a cold sweat. Not fun. Long distance, no germs Hugs to each of you, with extras.

This morning was a nightmare. My back is killing me. We worked the herd, treating for pink-eye in MANY cows and calves, and putting fly tags in everybody. The one completely blind cow needs the Vet, who was off today. She's in my stock trailer, which is parked in the horse barn for shade, and she has plenty of good hay and water in with her. First thing in the morning, we'll call the Vet Clinic, and they'll squeeze her in as soon as they can.
I'm heading back to bed. Even with the pain meds, the pain is shooting from my back down my legs and making me want to cry.
Please get over that tummy 'flu soon. MizT. (((( HUGS )))) to everybody who wasn't mentioned specifically.

Morning all,
Even though Belinda is a big girl I would feel the same way you do about her being alone. :( I hope you aren't hurting from your ironing.

Mamacita, so glad to read that you are pain free today!

MizT, sorry to hear you are in pain and that it's a new one. I hope you feel better soon.

Heidi, I'm sorry to hear your pain is getting worse instead of better! Good news that you separated the blind cow though.

Broni, I am sure you are having lots of fun with your cousin, so I forgive you for being busy!

I've been to the doc. I have bursitis, which is better than the tear the doc thought I might have. The pain is worse since the test though. I have a prescription for cortisone and will get the injection while having an ultrasound. Probably next week because hubby is taking some time off work.

I have had that injection in both shoulders Suzy. It does not hurt as some people kept telling me and it did help a lot. The effect did wear off a bit after a while. After the injection rest the shoulder as much as possible for about a week.
No ill effects from the ironing. Movement similar tot he exercises I have to do.
Had the squish test today. I moved my arms very gingerly and just slipped my shoulder straps down over my arms.
I did try to buy a front fastening bra. It was hilarious. I could not get my arms in properly and I had one cup in the frot and the other one half way down my back!
