Welcome to Sudokuland Linds.

Hello from SW Michigan (Kalamazoo is my "big city"). From where do you hail? Last summer we had a Sudokufest in Battle Creek when Jane from Georgia came up to visit a relative. Mary (mymare) also showed up from Naperville, IL.

Sometimes people let everyone know their "real" name, like mary/mymare. Other people like me tend to try to keep their real life identity secret (though some people know).

In my case it's because I promised my husband for our kids' sake that I'd use a psuedonym if I chattted on and on about personal details. So my household is Burl and Plum, with our daughters Starr (22 with a business degree with honors), Faun (20 with a learning disability/delay who is still doing high school and tending a goat herd), and Little Plum (10 and homeschooling).

There are quite a few Michiganians (Michiganders/Michigeese) on this site. You've discovered that we are usually among the first to post each day.

However, there are also very many people in Sudokuland who once called Michigan home but who are now living elsewhere. They usually let you know they still have a little bit of the pleasant penninsula in their hearts.

I know what you mean about being excited by personal "bests." Go ahead and celebrate them! I joined to reward myself for the first Tough puzzle I solved without helps.

The funny thing is that now many a day goes by and I don't even do the puzzles anymore - I just tune in for the fellowship. Sometimes I'll do the puzzles as jigsaws. I love being connected here through the posts and the photos.

We're a pretty varied lot, so we try to be polite about expressing opinions and reactions to opinions. A few times a year something gets jostled and there is a week of indignation over something or the other, then it settles back down to fun. We have a "Hallmonitor" who is supposed to keep things in line besides approving avatars, etc. Anything else? Just ask.
