to sudokuland Wendy...it is great you have found the time to join us at this frenetically busy time of the year!

I hope you find joining us all to be one of the best gifts to yourself ever...all of the Sudokuaholics on this site feel that it has been. We even have our own forum...sudokuaholics anonymous..affectionately known as SA where we aren't really anonymous at all...we all know an extraordinary amount about each other as do all the other posters on the various puzzle pages and forums on the site. There is something here for everyone...

Hope you post often so we can get to know you as you get to know us... just ask if you are having problems.

That leaves me nothing left to say except I hope woke up and remembered to visit..

Hi Wendy, I noticed your comment on Medium jigsaw today that you had submitted photos that haven't turned up yet. I also submitted about 50 photos a couple of months ago and none of them have appeared yet. So don't despair.
In the meantime, you could create a gallery of photos and share them around so that we all could appreciate them.

Hi Wendy, I am seeing a lot of your wonderful photos appear on the Sudoku pages. You are a much travelled lady and the photos are great. Why don't you now create a Gallery so that we can continue to enjoy your photos?
To create a gallery, go to 'Update Details' right at the very top of your page, then click on 'Upload Photos' at the top left hand side of the instructions.
I look forward to seeing more of your photos.

Hi Wendy
I am interested in our picture of the Athabasca Glacier, and wonder what year it was taken
I was there in 1984 and was appalled that the buses were allowed to drive onto the glacier I would like a copy of your picture

Hello Wendy - you have a photo of one of your paintings on the jigsaws today. Do you exhibit your paintings as you're obviously a talented artist.
Are you back from Tassie yet? I hope you had a good trip there.
Cheers,
Anne

Hello Wendy - sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I just went in to look at your photos and I should have been in touch earlier as it's best to shrink them in size. I do them with "Paint", a programme most of us have on our computers, I think. There is also somewhere on the site which explains how to do them, so I'll find out for you.
Regards,
Anne

Wendy, I've big problems with my inernet connection that I just got fixed today.
I have now reserched reviews on the G12 and it seems universal that they echo what you said about it being a perfect light weight for the professional. Best price I've found with a 16MB accessory package is $US 484.00 Does this sound in line? Exchange rates are almost 1 : 1 so this price should be ballpark with $AUS, but I wanted to checkon your buying experience.

Thanks for the information.

Kevin

Hi Wendy,

Still saving my pennies for a camera, but I am beginning to enter a state of indecision. Now that the Nikon D3100 has hit the market, it seems to be getting better reviews in comparisons with the G12. I've also read that the G13 is coming out by the end of the year and will be a 14 MP model. This has me confused since the G11 was a 14 MP model, and they reduced the MPs on the G12 to produce a sharper picture.

I'll probably wait for the G13 reviews and buy something at the end of the year.

Interestingly, Ian is using a 6MP Panasonic with good results, but not quite as sharp as yours.

Wendy,

The G12 successor is on the market as the GX1. 14 MP and 1080i video. $800. I dont't think it's worth it considering I can get a G12 for $500 with a large bundle - tripod, battery pack, case, memory stick, and more from BuyDig.com. Have to save my pennies.

Best regards,

Kevin

HI Wendy, I've just finished an archive easy which resulted in your photo Kalbarri Sunset. WOW, A really special shot. Love the wave ripple, the varied orange/browns, the smoky sky with the hint of blue showing through. Not an easy jigsaw, but a great reward when finished.
Thank you.

It's me again, and again from archive easy, this time your photo of Old Wharf at Bussleton. It made a great puzzle, with the ripples on the water and reflection. A clever shot - simple but very effective.

Hi Wendy! Another great photo & jigsaw, thanks!!
Today's photo on Hard Jigsaw is:
Isopogon formosus, Rose cone flower, Proteaceae

Isopogon...from Greek isos, equal and pogon, a beard, a reference to the hairs surrounding the fruits
formosus... ...from Latin formosus, beautiful.

Forest and woodland on sandy and gravel soils in the south-west of Western Australia.

Isopogon is a genus of around 35 species, all occurring only in Australia. They are found in the southern half of the continent in temperate regions. Most are small to medium sized shrubs having flower clusters arranged in globular heads. The fruits are also globular in shape giving rise to the common name of 'drumsticks'. Some are also called 'coneflowers' although this name is more usual in the related genus Petrophile.

Hi Wendy. It took a bit of sleuthing and a botanist I know who suggested your pic on yesterday's hard is one of the weedy Iris family genera called Ferraria..comes from S Africa . Link here to one called F. crispata. http://florabase.dec.wa.gov.au/browse/profile/1515 . I notice they are still for sale in Australia, not surprisingly, as some of them are amazing to look at. H Wendy,
Have just finished the puzzle on easy - your photo of Margaret River. It was good fun.
Do you know if there is any way that we can time how long it takes to do the jigsaws ?
It would be good to have that feature I think.
