Barb. I noticed you on the Jigsaw pages, but I hope you come over to the Sudoku site as well. Most of the conversation takes place on the Easy page. If you want to, you can play each picture like a jigsaw if you don't feel like doing the sudoku. Or you can just chat. Or lurk. Whatever you want to do.
We're delighted to have you here.

I saw your comment on Ceri's page. A billabong is technically an ox-bow lake - the cut-off loop of a meandering river.

Hi Barb...
I got a support splint at our local Rite Aid pharmacy. It's like an ankle brace but with molded, hard, support pieces on both sides.
I first broke my ankle 10 years ago... playing volleyball with a group that considers it to be a contact sport. When the cast came off 9 weeks later, I found the leg to be too weak to walk on soundly.
Three years ago I shattered that same leg. (Building a fish pond. Don't laugh) The surgeon actually lost count of the breaks. The whole lower leg is held together with plates and screws. I had to spend the first month in a wheelchair, then was allowed to use a walker, but without letting that leg touch the ground. Once I was allowed to walk on it, I wore the bottoms out of 4 casts just trying to build up strength in the leg. I used the splint for extra support after the cast finally came off, and it worked like a dream. It gave me enough support to let me exercise that leg.

Magnolia is just under an hour from Somerset. Your SIL may be familiar with my area. We're only 6 miles south of Abraham Lincoln's birthplace.
Good luck with the leg. I feel for you.

Hi Barb, thanks for visiting my page. I live in the Sierra Nevada, about three hours from Palo Alto. My daughter lived in San Francisco for several years, and now lives in Marin County, so I'm well acquainted with the Bay Area.

Hey Barb,
Thanks for the "bird song" info. Never was any
sort of scout, so that explains why I hadn't been exposed to the cute tune.
We were farm people, and scouting was a towny thing.
Enjoy your holidays, and try not to behave.
