Hello, friend, and thanks for visiting.  Please make yourself at home here.  In the summer, we can chat on the patio with a mimosa and a platter of shrimp.  In winter, we'll cozy up by the fire with some hot chocolate and your favourite liqueur.   I wish you a life filled with wonder.  Stop to marvel at creation.  Make someone smile whenever you can.  And shower affection on all creatures, great and small.

Arthur, our 4-year-old Maine Coon cat.

Bless you sweetie. I saw your name on one of the other puzzles last night and thought the very same thing about you. We must be telepathic, or in my case, telepathetic!
I hope all is well with you. Everything is tootling along predictably here. My youngest has just finished her Yr 10 exams, then has a mock-up week of Yr 11 subjects then she is on holidays. Not sure what our plans are for Christmas this year, I am a bit blase about it still. A friend back in our home town has mentioned an invite so we might go there, but as it's not December yet, I refuse to think too hard about it!
Take care and thank you for keeping me in my thoughts, it's a very comforting feeling. ♥

Hi Cathy. I owe notes of thanks to quite a few Sudoku people, but yours had to be the first. Thank you so much for your very kind & comforting messages during the past couple weeks. You do seem to have a special way with words. You were so right that Kyley's return to health was my best birthday gift, but it was also great to be able to celebrate the day with my other two daughters plus my two granddaughters. That was a first for me! I have come to my senses & decided not to sweat the Christmas stuff so much this year. My priorities are clearer in my mind now. Decorating, shopping, cards, gifts, parties, etc. I can cut back on. They are all secondary to the really important things during this holiday season - my family & friends & the love we share. We have already been blessed in so many ways we really don't need all the "trimmings"!
I wish you & your family a very Merry Christmas & a very Happy & Healthy New Year.

Hi, Cathy! I hope you are having a wonderful Christmas! Our day started out rainy, but it is now sunny and balmy. Perfect for a bike ride on the beach after lunch! 'Though I love our little semi-tropical paradise, I envy you your skiing. I keep telling myself I'm not toO old to take it up again......(Sigh!)
Anyway, I just want to wish you a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Glad I'm not the only one taking down Christmas at this time. I got most of mine put away yesterday. I love the Christmas season and find it sad to take everything down. Always looks so bleak afterwards, but I always leave some snowmen up for the winter months, though.
Un-decorating seemed to take forever this year... probably because I reorganised as I went. I counted 434 ornaments just on my tree alone (not counting the 11 strings of lights) and I didn't even put everything on the tree this year! I had no idea! I just knew it took a while to do!
I now have two "Retired Christmas Decorations" bins that if I don't use it next year, I'll probably get rid of it. That will put me at 5 large plastic bins of Christmas decorations!

Hi Cathy, saw your post, who on Earth could hate bleeding hearts?! They have been one of my favorites for years (we had one in our backyard growing up). My mom has since bought me my own for our yard. I will now need to look for a white one to match!

Take care,
Aimee :)

What are we to do with these beloved cats of ours? Poor Arthur! Poor you! I hope he is doing better. Urinary blockage issues scare me. So far I have not had to deal with that one. (Knock on wood!)
Someone asked me last week if I wanted a homeless Maine Coon cat. I have ALWAYS wanted one, but with the health issues my two aging cats have, I declined. When hubby retires (in 3.5 years) we plan on traveling quite a bit so I think that when these two go to 'cat heaven' I may not get another for a while. Unfortunately, I can't imagine being cat-less!
Tuxedo seems to be declining quite a bit more recently. I think he has congestive heart failure issues. He acts as if he is choking on fluids, but I never see fluids. I am afraid to take him to the vet because he seems to go into these fits when he gets excited... and you know how cats are going to the vet! He's due for a check-up soon, so wish me luck. He walks like a little old man and sleeps in sunbeams. We put his cat bed in a sunlit spot and move it as the sun moves across the floor... right in the middle of the kitchen!
Best wishes especially to Arthur & to Holmes!

Our vet told us not to feed Chuckers dry food. Apparently, it can aggravate the condition. Before Purina started making Friskies in an anti-FUS formula, we bought an expensive prescription catfood (also canned). I also used to make his cat food from scratch from a recipe given me by the vet, but I don't have it any more. We were lucky. Chuckers only suffered one bout (although he had to spend three days in the hospital when he did have his episide). He lived to the ripe old age of 19! I do hope Arthur has a full recovery!

(In case you didn't get back on the site.) Poor Cathy! I've been there with the subcutaneous fluids. NO fun at all for anyone - cat, nor human! Almost had to fortify myself with a shot of something myself before each session! Problem was, you need all of your wits about you when attempting. So... I guess that means I'm experienced in the proceedure. Too bad I'm not one of your neighbours! But when it comes to this, maybe I'm glad I'm not! How long will you have to do this?
Good luck!

Bless you Cathy, you do realise you are always in my life, you are one of the many people who attracted me to join in the first place, you were always so giving and caring of the other members.
This last couple of months including my birthday and Mother's Day, spent my children have all been wonderful fun celebrations, and to me, that is what it is all about. We have had hoot nanny times with many laughs and spoils along the way.
Thank you for your heartwarming words, and hope you feel as special as you have made me feel. ♥

Hello Cathy - I just read on easy that you had been to the Bon Jovi Concert. Lucky you. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
My daughter went last time they were in Perth and is going again this time, November I think it is. She didn't invite me along and all the times I had to sit and listen to him and watch him on T.V. when she was a teenager you'd think she would repay me in kind.
Cheers
Anne

Hello Cathy - somehow, I don't think those tactics will work. I did mention to her after she had booked tickets for herself and a couple of friends that I thought she may have included me and she seemed surprised. Ha! Ha!
I will tell her how great you said the concert was but she has been to his other one in Perth a couple of years ago.
Cheers

Hi Cathy - Happy Birthday Happened to pop in to sudoku today & saw that it's a special day. I still think of you & your trials & tribulations during your kitchen remodeling! Hope you are now fully enjoying the fruits of your labors. I love our new kitchen & now also our just completed guest bathroom. Hooray - no more rooms to be done. Originals lasted 24 years so hope these new revisions will suffice for the next 24! By then I'll be 87 Enjoy your day & a good year ahead.
