Our bus driver/tour guide talked about that a lot ... how expensive houses were. Prices have been that way in California for years, so it didn't seem that out of line to us.

Just read your message on my page. Have rung a painter! As if I was ever really going to do it. I had the best of intentions when I left work last year but then my sister up and got sick so I sort of lost my enthusiasm for painting. I painted the kids bathroom by myself and didn't get very positive feedback from the masses so now I'm 'getting a bloke' to come and do it. Will get a couple of quotes and go from there. It took me a week to do the bathroom, it'll probably only take them a week to do the whole house!!!

BTW Don't know if I've ever mentioned it before but that is one of the most beeootiful cats I have ever seen. I think I remember it as a photo that came up on a game once.

Thanks Cathy. I keep crying too. I just keep thinking about how Nal must be feeling and it just breaks my heart. I know what she is going through as I have lost so many pets over my lifetime and it never gets any easier. I have four Burmese cats left and they are all over 13. Give Arthur a big hug and let him know you love him.

Hi Cathy! I'm sorry I didn't get back to you sooner on the sad story of Rocko. Guess you've figured it all out by now. Nal had written me via e-mail that the vet told her after the fracture repair that there was a 95% chance Rocko had bone cancer. Guess she must have decided not to put him through amputation & chemo. I believe that was a kind & brave decision on her part. I feel so bad for her today - my heart is heavy. We are leaving on another trip tomorrow so suitcases are being packed AGAIN!!! At least this will be a short one, just six days in PA & MD to attend a wedding reception, visit some friends & relatives, & spend a day touring Baltimore before we fly home again. We hate to leave Ebony, but our youngest daughter will take good care of her. Will be back on site again after July 19.

Thank you Cathy! Everyone has been so supportive. It helps so much to know there are so many of you caring friends! - I wish I had been as altruistic as our Dear Kathy thinks. In reality Rocko took care of me till the end - he just went to sleep and never woke up. We had already made up our minds we were not going to let him hurt anymore, but we did not have to go through euthanasia. His heart simply gave out. I am glad I always told him I loved him.

just as i knew he would be, give him a little snuggle from me. how is he doing now? our trip was great, had so very much fun and even met up with linda from minn. she met us on I-80 at a holiday inn on the way home. we had so much fun way into the wee hours of the next day. we put 3500 miles on our car by the time we arrived home to salt lake. getting ready now to head out to yellowstone, just brucie and i. kinda like a honeymoon,many many years after the fact. looking very much forward to the getaway. thanks for stopping by, always so great to see you!

Thank you Cathy! It is hard. I still get a lump on my throat every time I talk about him and when I come home the first instinct is to look for him.
He was a wonderful log of a dog.
I keep telling everyone, he never knew he was a Rottweiler. Acted more like a Labrador, Poodle or Maltese - minus the bark.
We are looking to rescue another Rottie; I just have to make sure he(or she) likes cats. I hope to get a puppy so it can get used to Boo like Rocko did.

Cathy, thanks you for the hug! We just came back from a nice long walk. Rob takes her in the morning & I go in the evening. Today we had a huge thunderstorm which stopped my tennis match after only 3 games & then knocked out our power for over 2 hours! The only good thing is it lowered the temp. by about 20 degrees so it was quite pleasant out tonight. By the way, I keep meaning to ask -where in southern Ontario do you live? Maybe you can add some photos of your area to your Flickr page? I'd also like to meet some other members of your family besides Arthur. Do you have children & grandchildren?

Oops, looks like I'm on my way to a personal page CP! So what anniversary do you have coming up? Sounds like you've planned a wonderful trip! You'll have to practice with your digital camera before you go so you'll feel more comfortable with it. I was a little nervous with my new one before we went to Europe last summer, but I quickly got used to it & now love all the many advantages like being able to see & erase the bad pics immediately. Knowing that you aren't wasting film makes you more likely to keep trying for a perfect shot! I love all the names you chose for your cats - all boys, I think?? Please let me know when you get some other photos posted - I'll try to be patient. Have a great day.

What a warm and welcoming home you have! I love the old red brick, because it reminds me of my childhood in Michigan. There is very little brick out here in California ... it tends to crumble in the earthquakes! Thanks for sharing, Cathy.

Cathy, you must have written back to me during the 7 minutes between my two posts! I got a chuckle out of your 8 1/2 year ''whirlwind courtship'' comment! Glad you got a gem. I did, too, although I must admit there are times I DON'T think that!! Now that he's retired we suffer from TOO much togetherness sometimes.

Cathy, As I said on easy, you did a great job getting the photo gallery going with all that you have on your plate...after your wonderful anniversary trip, you can learn to reduce the size of your pictures before uploading. Makes for better viewing. Don't fret...most of us make the same mistake...its all a learning process...When you are ready, if you'd like, I'll try to help...but you have taken the first step...and that's great...Love your library...

cathy~~~no, no baby yet!!! actually i'm thankful that the little guy is staying tucked away for a bit longer. the better it will be for him. he's really not due till the 13th of aug. so anyday now. i'll let you know. great job on the pics, i really enjoyed them. i will try to have bruce help me this weekend resize and help me post some more. have a great day sweetie!!

Hi Cathy! We'll be celebrating our 24th anniversary on 9/10 and dated 6 1/2 years before that. So not that far off from you. Time certainly does fly! I can't believe that summer is almost over no less 30+ years have gone by. Here's a toast to you for another 33 years together! (there is no cheers smilie) Take care!
