Hello, friend, and thanks for visiting.  Please make yourself at home here.  In the summer, we can chat on the patio with a mimosa and a platter of shrimp.  In winter, we'll cozy up by the fire with some hot chocolate and your favourite liqueur.   I wish you a life filled with wonder.  Stop to marvel at creation.  Make someone smile whenever you can.  And shower affection on all creatures, great and small.

Arthur, our 4-year-old Maine Coon cat.

Hi Cathy - for information on Pompeii you need to talk to Karen/Sydney (you can get to her via my page) she's my sister and has spent several months in Pompeii digging up the ruins. i don't know if she has been to Positano to make a comparison.

Hi Cathy

just thought I'd drop you a quick line to say - definitely go to Pompeii. There are really good audio guides that you can pick up from the main entrance or splurge and go for a guide. It will be the best way to get the most out of the city. I've been twice spending six weeks each time on archaeological digs. It is awesome.

hi Cathy, i saw your post yesterday (6/2) that you have vacationed in Watkins Glen. We were there also a few years back. was working near ther for several months and visited several places. loved the state park and all the wineries. the brigham young history was interesting also. that was before my pictures were digital.

we love ontario too. visited several times while working in niagra falls. crossed the border at port huron and made several stops along the way. loved stratford too. we have great memories of the area.

Hi Cathy, I saw on the easy page you said you don't know how to make an avatar. If you already have a picture a very easy site to use is:
http://www.shrinkpictures.com/create-avatar/
set the size to 50
Another way to do it is to use a photo program if you have one on your computer. I use Adobe Photoshop Elements. You can resize the image quite easily. I hope this helps.

thanks for stopping by. love the ice wine. we were first introduced to it in New Orleans, when we stopped at a fancy restaurant for dessert and wine (dinner was way more than we wanted to spend - other things beckoned!lol). we loved the 2 we tried and have since tried lots of different ice wines. i've seen a couple canadian ice wines and have been on the lookout to purchase them.

i also had lots of trouble with the page and avatars, it's taken me almost a year to 'perfect' the methods, but i'm still never quite sure about the next step, especially with inserting photos in My Page, as you can see by the double picture on My Page. LOL. i hope to have that corrected shortly. one of these days, i'll remember that i don't have to insert the pix into the message. have you uploaded pictures to flickr? that's decently easy if you have a flickr account and know exactly where your pictures are located on your computer. if you want some help before hubby can help, let me know. maybe we can set something up for the chat room....(I'm on central time, and you probably are on eastern time, so that should be a problem). be glad to help anyway i can.

I meant what I said. I'm currently caring for my mother who has Alzheimer's and my father who is legally blind with diabetes. Both are stubborn cusses who are determined to live independently in their home which they've lived in for forty-one years. So I'm over there every other day right after work to take care of the shopping, medications, and doctor appointments and whatever else. So please, I know how it is, so please take good care of yourself!!!

Cathy, glad you're back and had a good time. I haven't been horseback riding in ages. Would love to do it again altho am afraid I would hurt myself. Are you planning your next trip? I will be up near Canada at the end of July. The family is getting together at Smuggler's Notch to have a graduation party for my son, my sister's son and my brother's daughter. We had 3 graduate last year as well. Hope you have a great day!

Cathy, my wife was curious as to your reaction to her tea bag suggestion. I showed her your post to Aileen a bit ago. It had her in stitches. She remains disinterested in the proceedings herein but I do share some of the more lively exchanges with her from time to time.

Thanks Cathy. I hope you are having a great 4 July celebration. Dad actually went back into hospital today to have his gall bladder removed. It is a fairly simple op so hopefully I won't have to do too much for him.

Thank you for the ice wine. I was most ingracious on my last visit. To make amends, please accept a bottle of locally produced elderberry wine. There is a story about the tea bags, but my wife would have to tell it. It had something to do with an old college lit. professor who was quite eccentric in her day.

Whatever your imaginitive wheels have turned up is probably close to spot on. When whe was telling me the story many years ago, about half way through I went into a defensive TMI shut down mode.

CATHY, I noticed while visiting some pages, you still do not have your avatar up. I sent you e-mail with 2 avatars and instructions for submitting them. Did you receive it? Oh back almost a month ago i think . . . let me check. June 7, and subject line was 'Instructions for Avatars Graphics included'

A fast check of my old mail does not show a reply, maybe you never received the mail. Maybe I had the wrong address??

Sorry I did not follow up on this sooner, but I was doing several different avatars at the time, and you got lost in the shuffel. I did not want you to think I had just forgotten you.
